    Definitions

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is:

Acting as if I would if I was the character in real life, AKA if I was the King of England IC I would roleplay it as I would in real life.

In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is:

Using OOC knowledge IC, for example if my best friend tells me OOC that he is getting married IC and then I go in game and ask him IC if I'm invited, even though his character never mentioned that he was getting married.

In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is:

RPing powers that you couldn't have, or forcing a emote on someone (E.g I fly 10000 feet into the air and throw a 60 firebolts at your face instantly killing you, I walk away laughing at how bad a fighter you are) this is also known as godmodding.

    In-Character Details

    Character Name:

    Brother Folly

    Character Race:

    Human

Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:

Folly was given to the monastery when he was a child along with his brother, his parents where serfs who couldn't afford another child- They assumed the life of the robe would serve Folly better then living the farm life.

Folly rose through the monastical order and took the Vow of chastity, poverty, and obedience when he was 14. The monastery became unaffected of outside life and events due to is seclusion in the mountains.

Folly accepted the vow of laymen at 20 years old, and began working and directing groups of monks at the surrounding farms. By the time Folly was 32 years old he had been working as a layman all of his life and was elected as Sub-prior for the monastery, at the time Folly was distraught at the decline of monks joining the order. After a week of meditation Folly decline the position and took a oath to spread the word of of the Church for the greater cause.

At 34 Folly set off from his mountain monastery at in which he had just been elected sub-prior, but there was no glory in the church, Folly believes the only glory is in the gods and there teachings.

    What are your characters ambitions?:

Spread the word of the church and repair his decaying monastary, as well as further the gods love of there worshipers.

Folly also wishes to create the greatest Cathedral known to man and have it reach higher then any other.

Is there anything else you would like to say about your character:

I greatly enjoyed writing this, and I hope you enjoy reading it! :)

Also, I kept the BIO short because the daily life of a monk can be boring, and I want to emphasize that Folly hasn't had any monumental events in his life until he drives his own, as apposed to living under the robe.

    Open-Response-Questions

Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?

Folly looks at the small man. He had never seen a dwarf in real life and fights off a look of curiosity as he had only read about them in classic Literature- Nevertheless Folly puts his hands together and says a prayer for the man to live a happy life and to follow the church. Folly turns back to the street ahead and lifts his robe so that only his bare legs get wet from the shallow muckwater puddle.

You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?

Folly would look at the scene with great distress, attempting to stop it he opens his mouth to yell at the two, but no sound comes out- Before long he becomes worried and pulls up his robe so he can jog over to the two. Folly approaches the two and with his heart in his mouth yells "STOP! IN THE NAME OF THE CHURCH STOP!" and would go on making a prayer.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:

Folly would feel the mans pain as he fell to the ground, and would pull up his robe and rush to the mans aid he would lift the man to a sitting position and ask if he was alright. Folly would pick up the Minas and rip of a fetch of his own cloak and tie it together to make up for the ripper purse. He noticed that the man had only a few coins, and this wouldn't last the man a few days- Folly remembering he took the vow of poverty would show the man directions to a nearby Church or Monastery so that he could get a free meal and lodging for the night if he needed.
