  1. This is some really great lore here...except for one major problem. You mention under the religion aspect of the culture that they are a monotheistic faith, yet you refer to the use of multiple deities twice throughout the lore. The first time is under the 'war' section, where you talk about the god of war. The second time is under the song/dance section, where you write that they do their rituals to get the attention of their gods. Just saying, something you may want to fix.
  2. Congrats to all three of you!
  3. Oren Lance Application MC Name - DatSevir RP Name - Jonathan Sevir Age - 22 Old Jobs and Work - None, though I'm certainly capable of taking care of any menial labor set before me in service of Oren. Skills for odd jobs? - N/A Weapon of Choice and ye mastery with that? - I prefer to use a blade when in combat. I'd say my skill level is around that of an adept. I've been training for nearly four years now, with guidance from my father. Why do ye wish to Join the Lances? - The life of the military has been a long tradition within my family bloodline (The Sevirs). My father and his as well both served honorably within the Empire as lances to the Emperor. My great grandfather also served the grand kingdom of Al'Khazar during the times of Aegis and the Undead wars. Now that I am of age, it is my turn to take the mantle of becoming a soldier in protection of my kinsmen and country. Do ye take the Oath-needed? I, Jonathan Sevir, pledge my weapon, my knowledge and life to the Knightly order of the Red Dragon. And swear my allegiance to Emperor Godfrey Horen and His Line of Succession. I shall serve the King, Order and Oren with undying loyalty and will do all that I can to keep them from harm. I will always complete a quest given to me by my king, Knight and Kingdom. I swear to protect its people and to stay true to the order and obey its ways and laws.
  4. Out-Of-Character Details Minecraft Account Name: DatSevir How old are you?: Sixteen Time-Zone/Country of Residence: EST (United States) Do you have a good grip on English grammar and the English language?: I believe so! I’m currently in a honors English class at my high school. Have you had any previous experience in roleplaying?: Plenty. I’ve role-played on several major games, such as World of Warcraft and Runescape. I’ve also participated in a few forum role-plays here and there, though I much prefer to play on a physical server. Have you read and understood and agree to the rules?: I’ve read the rules twice over and completely understand and agree to abide by every one of them. How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?: I found the server some time ago while perusing the Minecraft Forums. I’ve only recently come to acquire a full MC account, so now I’m applying. Link any previous applications you have made to the Lord of the Craft: None. Hopefully this’ll be my first and final! Have you posted this application on Minecraft Forum? If not, post it here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-the-lord-of-the-craft-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r-100-unique-gameplay/! : I certainly have! http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-the-lord-of-the-craft-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r-100-unique-gameplay/page__st__1600 (Link to MC Forum post) Definitions In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Role-playing is the act of basically taking on the role of a character of your own design. You act out, or play the role, of this character’s defined emotions, personality, and life-style. In the case of The Lord of the Craft, I’d be taking on the role of a character in a medieval fantasy setting. In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming is the use of knowledge gained in an out-of-character fashion and then using it in-character. For example, Jack tells John the location of an upcoming robbery via a Skype channel. John then acts on this knowledge and stops the robbery from occurring. This would be a form of meta-gaming. In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: I’ll go ahead and assume power-emoting is the same definition to terms such as god-modding. If this is the case, then power-emoting is using unfair, or over-powered actions within a RP encounter. An example of this would be if Jack approached John with an iron blade. After some arguing, Jack has had enough and lunges at John with his blade. John, in a single emote, steals the sword with only his bear fists then turns it around, stabbing it through Jack killing him instantly. Not only would it be impossible to grab an incoming blade with your merely your hands, he also doesn’t give John the chance to respond to his emote. This would be a major and serious offence of power-emoting. In-Character Details Character Name: Jonathan Sevir Character Race: Human Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: The moon began to fall as the sun slowly rose to take its place in the distance. Jonathan sat on the grasslands outside the bustle and noise of Arethor, right along the bank of a lake he found himself fond to. He would go there as often as possible to think. To reminisce. The Sevir family never had large sums of inheritance money, claim to nobility, or even good fortune. Though they did have one thing; ideals of honor, chivalry, and justice. They come from a long line of warriors; both Jonathan’s father and his now deceased grandfather were both Lances within the Oren Empire. His great grandfather may have even defended against the Undead scourge of the olden tales. Now that his father has retired and Jonathan has come of age, it is his turn to take up the family mantle and tradition. Just the prior day he received armor fashioned of iron, and his father passed along the family heirloom upon him. It was a worn, iron blade passed down through each generation. Jonathan stood up from his lake view and began to assemble the clunky armor. It took him several minutes of clumsiness to finally get it on. He sheathed his sword and went off to the Arethor gates. So his life as a Lance of Oren began. What are your characters ambitions?: Jonathan’s ambitions are small. He has no want for large piles of coin, nobility, and other ridiculous dreams. He merely wants to make his father proud by continuing the family tradition. Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: Jonathan has darker brown hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. He has a more timid personality, though can become aggressive when truly annoyed. He is 20 years old. Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? Jonathan, clad in full guard plating, approaches the Dwarf. The Dwarf seems almost nervous at first. “Hail Dwarf! A pleasure to see different cultures other than humans within our fair city.” Jonathan glances over at a fine shield, marked for 150 Mina. “Aye, quite the fair city! I see ‘ya looking at the shield, lad! Only 150 Mina, quite the bargain for that piece.” “That it, that it is. I’ll purchase it, full price.” He takes forth a coin pouch and retrieves 150 Minas from it, pouring them on to the clerks stall. The Dwarf quickly snatches them up and puts them in a small crate located under the stall. "A pleasure doing business with 'ya sir! Tell your friends about my shop, if you do please!" Jonathan took up his newly bought shield, nods his head towards the direction of the dwarf, and walks off to attend to the city. You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? Jonathan slowed his pace as he spotted the Orc and Dwarf arguing up ahead. He turned his head slightly when he got in to close range of them. The Orc spit at his feet. “Human, stay out of this or I’ll have your head on a stake!” Terribly under equipped, Sevir continues on his way shaken by the encounter. He attempted to drown out the screams of the Dwarf who was being savagely being beaten by the Orc. It was a moment that would stay within his conscience for years to come. ((I understand that Orcs have their own language of sorts, but I don’t know it so I just wrote it in common.)) Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: “Allow me to assist you, sir!” Jonathan, the helpful soul he is, reaches down and helps the frail, old man get up. He also cleans up the piles of skins on the path way, filling them back up in to the bag. He hands them back to the old man. “Thank you very much, lad. Many would never waste their time on an elder such as myself.” “Surely it was no problem, good Sir. It is my duty as a Lance to help those in search of aid.” Jonathan led the old man back to his destination, enjoying the conversation of his past adventures and stories of a land once known as Aegis. Once at the man's home, he retrieved the bag from earlier out of his coat. He took out 2 dozen Minas. "Here, take it my friend. I never would've made it out there without your generous assistance." Sevir nodded, accepting the gracious offering. He bid the man farewell and headed back to attend to his guard duties.
