What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is when you are playing as a created character and to act and speaak as the created character. What is metagaming?: Using knowledge you found outside of game while RPing that the character had no way of knowing. What is powergaming?: Playing your character without any flaws, the character is perfect without any disadvantages, no drawbacks at all. Character’s name: Merrick O'Mara Character’s sex: Male Character’s race: Human Character’s age: 24 Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Merrick is a human hailing from Felsen, . As a child his father would teach him with sword and shield, and his mother would would try to teach him his words and letters, struggling to get him to read or stay still to read. Anxious and excited for whenever he would train with his father he could barely sit. His father was murdered by a cutpurse at a young tender age which affected him deeply. Unable to support herself and her child alone his mother gave him to a orphanage so he would be fed and be warm and safe. He does not know the fate of his mother. He grew up with two best friends. A boy named Randall and a dog he named Smudge. Smudge would follow him everywhere and scared off the bigger meaner kids who would pick on the smaller ones. Merrick and Randall had dreams of growing up to be great knights and save the realm from the dark forces of evil and be heros, but this all soon evaporated away when Randall became very ill and died of his sickness. Outliving Smudge by the age of 18 when he was no longer living in the orphanage he took up odd jobs helping a blacksmith around the forge to cleaning stables. He was able to buy himself a used iron sword and a leather jerking with boots. To him, his adventure had just begun. He began entering local tourneys and using whatever gold he won, going to the local tavern for mead and food, and buying swordplay lessons from a exotic farlander with ebony skin. His name was Rancharo. Rancharo would charrge Merrick aa couple coppers because he knew he wass in poverty, but together won tourneys back to back sometimes with the level of skill they had compared to others. Merrick eventually said bye to Rancharo wanting to fulfill his dream of adventuring and stocked up on provisions and made his way out the city gates. Months of traveling brought him upon a hunters shed where he met a old sheep dog still waiting for his owners return. He and the dog traveled far eventually arriving at the city of Laurelin, he dog already old and tired from the long journey wouldn't leave the city and stayed when Merrick had decided to continue on, but before he left he had visited the Mother Tree and payed his respects. Murmuring a silent prayer he pet the old sheep dog one last time as it settled down beside the tree and stood. He walked to the edge of the thick canopy that encased the city and walked out. Outside he came upon a large grove of flowers that made the air smell sweeter than cream and decided he would visit the the guild of druids next. Personality Traits: A headstrong, stubborn man, very loyal to those he trusts. He has a love for all animals feeling that they are as equal as to all self conscious Ambitions: From reading about the heroes and their feats as a young child Merrick has a thirst for adventure. He has a desire to explore far far away from home and make friends and learn new things on the way and die fighting. He has a strong will to die at the hands of another man locked in combat and bring honor to his name, this does not mean he intends to die soon, he intends to live a long adventure rich life. Strengths/Talents: Very skilled with a bow, and not a bad melee fighter, just not as strong as other men to heft a sword. Very quick and nimble able to run away from bigger foes without much help. Has a good sense of character. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Doesn't think things through as he should, makes rash decisions a lot. Very little magical abilities. Isn't very strong or big. Not the sharpest tool in the shed. Fear of deep waters. Easily fooled and manipulated. Appearance, A tall thin man, with cords of lean muscle running about his body, he has shaggy brown hair with blue eyes and is about 6'1 weighing 160 pounds. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Born from a heartlander and highlander in the capital Petrus, his mother and father were slain by robbers in the black of night when he was a young child. He doesn't remember them much. Being brought into a orphanage and being bullied turned him into a hard, cold man. With no one to guide or teach him he would spend days watching the city guard train and copy their actions and movements with sticks. In battle he is fierce and cunning only because he is terrified, which makes him cautious. He doesn't fight for glory or honour, he fights to win and not die. He is very fond of animals and feeds stray dogs and cats whenever he can and often takes the company of the animals. As he grows older he strives to be physically fit and stay in shape. He has a companion, a stray dog he man Hudson. Since the first time they met they were inseparable. Hudson is a large brindle mastiff. Personality Traits: Soft and kind hearted to those who know him, cold and hardy with a short temper. Ambitions: To become a mercenary in the Sword Invictus. Become a father one day and teach his son to be a man. Strengths/Talents: Fierce in battle, dog training, not book smart but intelligent, very cautious. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Short temper, scared of most things, inability to read or write, doesn't make friends very easily. In-Character Details Character Name: Tuldarus Character Race: Human Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Tuldarus lived his childhood as a slave. He and his mother, father and brother were always just clinging to life. After his brother and father were recruited to the kings army he went mad with rage. Later in his years he and his mother recieved word that his father was killed in battle. His brother's were abouts were unknown. He is a fit ragged looking man. With a shaved face and shaggy hair. He is 21 years old. People usualy don't walk around or be near him in his village because of his temper. His personality is that of a angry, poor young man. He doesn't like when people fuss over him. He hates bullies. What are your characters ambitions?: His ambitions are to serve in the army in memory of his kin and fight against all evil that lay before him. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? "Leave me alone you scum!" Dwarf keeps waving. *Walks over and yells "WHAT DO YOU WANT!" the poor dwarf looks terrified and scurries back into his shop. Tuldarus then snickers quietly and turns around to see everyone there at the time staring at him. He then turns away and walks briskly away from the staring crowd. Oh how he hates crowds! You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? He walks over to the dwarf and orc and pushes the orc away. The orc then reaches for a knife and Tuldarus kicks him in the shin then leaps onto his back and breaks his neck. The dwarf begins to say thank you but before he could finish Tuldarus punches him in the mouth and walks away. He looks back and sees the dwarf inspecting his mouth at a nearby pond. Tuldarus continues to observe him until the drawf looks at him witch he turns away and walks on his way to a nearby town. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: Tuldarus quickly runs to the man and picks him up. He ofers the man some water and when the man refuses he insists till he drinks. Then Tuldarus picks up the coins, pockets 2 for himself and hands the rest to the man in a pouch of leather. Then he walks over to a nearby tree and breaks a branch. He then makes a makeshift walking stick and gives it to the man and runs away.
