  1. Jax smirks as he reads the sign, "Oren is falling to shambles, the gates to the North are opening. Yet they focus on this..." He rubs his chin, "We have no hope."
  2. My question is, how will we display this in roleplay? From what I've seen, the majority of those leaving are those that reside in Oren. Meaning that roleplay there could be nearly destroyed. The throne is up for grabs, and that means that greedy players IC will likely take their pursuit OOC. Is the Staff going to monitor this? My idea to keep things going, and to create a mood of gloom IC, is to simply add 'The Black Death' into lore. We could just add a small bit of lore about how it swept through and killed off most of Oren, and left the throne open, and caused chaos. It rightly describes the events, and adds new depth to those who survive. I think it would be a great way to tell this story! -Cameron (zdrivesmp)

He belonged to no clan, and was raised by his mother in Karik. Every day of his life was full of questions, would they eat today? Would they have wood to burn to stay warm? They lived off of scraps taken from the dumps of various saloons and inns. But Galrim knew that one day things would be better. He promised himself that he would make his and his mother's life better. His fifth season passed, he felt ready to take on the world! He set off to find adventure. He made his way out of the caves and into the mountains. A full year passed as he wondered the country side finding different forms of work in the various mountain cities. He had gathered a good sum of money and returned to Karik, only to find that his mother had passed away. He was on his own. He continued finding different jobs and raising money. After his sixth season had passed he bought a sword, some armor, a bit of food, a bedroll and set off. He didn't know where he was going, he had no goal in mind but to leave his life of eating trash behind. To become an adventurer. Again he wondered through the country side. After about a week he stumbled across a Mountain Dwarf clan called "Quartzfist". He was taken prisoner, the only way free was to pass a test to see if he had the traits of a warrior. They made him fight. He slayed people, strange creatures, you name it! Every time he prevailed, some more hard fought than others. At first he resented it, but as he fought he realized that he was a natural born fighter. Eventually he was released. The clan was so amazed with him that they adopted him. There was a ceremony to anoint him an honorable member. To mark him a clansmen, a mage burned a blue mark on the side of his face. They gave him a mirror to look. He had never seen a mirror, so this was the first time for him to even see himself. He was tall (for a dwarf), broad shouldered, he had long brown hair, and a beard. He had grown to love the clan and thought them family. But he knew he had to go. He still had a tug on his heart. He had left Karik to be an adventurer. So he set off. And this is where we are left... What are your characters ambitions?: To be an adventurer and improve his life. Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: Nope! These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? After a long journey from Karik I'm looking forward to a rest. The walls of the city are massive, casting a long afternoon shadow across the ground. The wooden gate looms over the entry and I fade out of awareness lost in the wonder of human architecture. I run into a tall human who gives a slight scream as he stumbles forward. "Sorry!" I call. I begin looking around, taking in the massive structures when I hear a voice calling out over the rumble of the crowd. The voice is different from those of the humans though, slightly lower, and with more of a rumble. Out of curiosity, I look for the source of the voice and am surprised to find a dwarf! He is selling goods, trying to make an honest living in this land of giants. No one is buying them though. I understand the situation the dwarf is in. I came from the same background! A poor dwarf, working hard to make a living. I go over to the dwarf and pay for three of his goods but don't actually take any. You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? In my days of wondering I came across many damsels-in-distress and did what I could to help. This was no different. I draw my axe, prepared to rush at the slightest sign of trouble. The orc takes a step forward and puts himself into the position to charge the dwarf. There was no time to hesitate, if he was to attack, he was going to do it now. Without hesitation I charge in, axe raised above my head. Within a split second I was in striking distance. The orc had no time to react, only turning his head to look at the disturbance next to him. I was the last thing he ever saw. I brought the axe down across his nick, decapitating him. If he wasn't intending to attack, well then oops... Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: I was walking along a road when I came across old man, shuffling along the rocky path. He was holding a large bag, it looked very heavy so I thought to ask if I could help. "Sir, do you need..." SNAP! His flimsy walking stick broke and he fell to the ground. I hurried to help him up and leaned him against a rock. I bent down and picked up all of the coins that had been contained in the bag. I put them back in and handed it to the man, at the same time I told him to wait for a second. I had seen a hickory tree a short while back so I ran to grab a new makeshift cane for him. I returned and handed the stick to the man. He reached out a hand full of coins, offering to pay me in return for my help. I thanked him but told him he could keep them. Thanks for reading! I hope to see you guys soon! -zdrivesmp
