Definitions
In your own words
define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:
Role-playing: When a person takes on the role of another identity and talks, walks, and acts as that
identity would.
Meta-gaming: Meta-gaming is when you are role-playing and you use information that your
character wouldn't know but you do. It’s not fun or fair when an old farmer
that has not been ten miles from home knows about the secret inner workings of
the fabric of reality.
Power-emoting: Power-emoting is when you force actions upon another player through emoting and
not giving them any option or chance to react. Example: You can’t assume that
the turtle slow old man over there isn't a spy under cover. He might be the
great grand master of kung-fu for all you know! So you can’t just go *I creep up
behind you and run you through with my dual daggers! Thus you DIE!*
In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:
Full Name: Vulameberr Kindheart
Current Age: 22
Sub-race (if any): High Elf
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
Vulameberr is a High Elf but he might just be the strangest Elf in the land for he is of
full elf blood but raised by human parents. His name means clever forest bow in
the ancient elven tongue and his last name comes from his parents. He never
found out just how he came to his Human parents but he suspects it has
something to do with gambling. Vulamebeer’s human parents are semi-wealthy
farmers whose house rests just to the side of a very beaten trade route.
Although Vulameberr is fully an elf, he knows nothing of their traditions and
only of human nature and curiosity. He spent much of his child hood out working
the fields from dawn to dusk, until his hands where raw and bloody with
blisters. He felt his eleven compassion for nature deep within himself and that
is the only thing that made farming just, just bearable for him but he still
loathed it with all of his heart. Sometimes, when he was out plowing the
fields, the breeze would catch just right to relax his muscles and he would
lean on the plow and stare off into the distance dreaming of other places,
other people, and other things than this farm. After supper every day him and his
mother would have a tutoring time about a great variety of topics and through this
he learned to read and write the common tongue and he read a many tales and
found a keen interest in myths of the old and tree hugging dryads, treasure
hording dragons, soring drakes, and the dead resurrected. When he became old
enough, he started to work his family’s trade post out by the road for the
passing merchants for most of his days. This is what took on his true
passion. Not because he loved selling or
haggling but because he loved hearing all of the wonderful, adventurous tales
of far off lands from travelers. Here was the seed being planted for adventure.
After several years of hearing of
adventure, Vulameberr could not stand it any longer! He had to see and
experience these things first hand and upfront! So, one cold Fall night, he
packed his bags and left home, leveeing a note that read “This is not the life
for me. I’m setting off to other lands. Do not follow me. I wish you the best
of times –Your Beloved Son” Saying goodbye with not easy for Vulameberr for he
had grown close to his family but he could not bear the thought of living a
mere farmers life (even a wealthy farmer) and growing old welding a hoe.
So off set a young (18) naive boy never
to return again. It was do or die on the road. The first several months he
spent in the wilderness, half-starved and living off bush berries and the
occasional charred hair. As weeks turned to months and then years, Yulameberr
mastered the skills of survival in the wild and his visits towns for no longer
than a day, gathering as much information as possible, before heading back out
into wild in search for more knowledge and adventure. He keeps a journal and
notes on everything he sees of importance and has a dedicated a half of his
notes to the magical arts.
Ambitions for the Future: Vulameberr’s quest for knowledge is an eternal never ending
quest for adventure and understanding the world around him. He dreams of one day becoming a master of magic
and pursuing all of it hidden secrets.
Personality: Vulameberr is a very careful observer that thinks before he speaks
and is very useful of his showed emotions and tone to shift the conversation, unless
talking to a trusted friend. Long years in the wild alone have had him very
defensive and ever vigilant and very rarely has let his guard down but, when he
does, he has a very merry sense of humor. If he sees any kind of teasing or
bullying of any creature or race , Vulameberr stands up for the right thing to
do with ferocity that is unmatched anywhere (even a blood raged dwarf). Although
he stands up for what’s right, he does not fully decline a little mischief were
he sees fit (it’s also called revenge). After all, you always have to have a
bit of fun every once in a while, right?
Skills: Years of dangerous situations in the wild his forced him to
learn to use anything and everything as a weapon. He is a novice-adept at most
weapons including daggers, short swords, long swords, staffs and bows. His
endurance is extremely high and also is his acrobatic skills in the tree tops.
The only skills he has truly mastered is the skills of observation and
survival.

answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____
1. As you walk through the
deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize
that a group of High Elves are mocking a small Wood Elf child. How do you react?
Answer: Carefully creeping through the thick underbrush I notice some
commotion down the way. Still staying hidden I move closer and I find a small
wood elf child being mocked by Elf adults. Realizing there is no immediate
danger, reveal myself to the group and move in-between the adults and the
child. The adults are surprised at first but then they quickly recover.
“Pathetic. Pathetic I say! You low lings have nothing better to do!? BEGONE!”
*The lead elf from the group steps forward*
“Aww, we were just having a little bit a fun with our friend ahh ahhhah Alfric. Ya that’s his name Alfric” With a mocking
tone.
*With one swift motion I slide my staff from my bag and make a lighting fast stroke towards the elf’s rib cage with the
staff*
*The lead elf attempts to sidestep but fails and the staffs hits true fracturing several ribs with a crunch. He falls yelping*
*The other group members charge and one jumps on my back but is quickly thrown off*
*Realizing this is a battle I can’t win I turn and run, picking up the wood elf with one hand and placing him on my
back*
Once the elf group was far behind so I could just here there shouts I set the Wood Elf child down and say
“Go home now and stay away from those people”
He nods and thanks me ,looking shy, then runs off. I go in the opposite direction to prevent the elfs from following him home and to give them a false trail.
2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?
Answer: I’m wondering about just what did make up reality when I catch
a fast flicker of movement out of my right eye. Spinning 90 degrees, I draw my
dual wielded daggers and prepare to strike. An old and frail man stubbles out
from behind a tree and collapses. A small bag of coins falls out of his pocket.
I release my breath and kneel down to feel his pulse. It’s steady.
“That’s a relief. I don’t want to be hunted for murder.” I say
*I help the old man up*
“Is anything hurt” I ask loud and clear
“I think I alright young man, thank you”
*I pick up and hand him his bag of coins and along with some extra money*
“Are you lost?”
“No, no. I’m just heading to the creek when I felt a little faint. I guess I’m just not as young as I used to be these days.” He laughs a hardy laugh then he starts to cough.
“I wish you the best of times my new friend”
*I hand him his walking stick and (after making sure he can walk) set off again humming a tune
that a bard taught me long ago.”
3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored
carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your
character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion
involved).
Answer: In the center of the clearing stood a colorfully decorated carriage with a very egger looking
man in it.
With an overly happy voice “Greetings fellow traveler! And welcome to my wares! Would you like to try out my latest
pair of leather boots!”
*He holds up a pair of not so flatting leather boots*
“There the finest in the land! But normally these would cost you 400 coins! But ,because I like you, I’ll sell them for the low, low price of 300!”
This guys a joke! But, as I glance at my own feet, I am needing a new pair of boots.
“I’ll give you 50” I just got to play it straight
“Not a chance! I’ll go down to 325 for ya”
Forget playing it straight I think
“ What kind of fool do you think I am? Stop trying to milk my coin bag like a cow. I’ll give you 50 for those boots take it or leave it.”
Looking a little red in the face he says “Ok” and hands me the boots without another word and I give him a bag of 40 coins and turn on the point and set off from where I came.
