    The Eternal Grudge

“The Descendants of Krug do not often realize the importance of decisions until they’ve made the wrong one.” -Gror Ireheart to his Clan

To burn our halls is to burn our history. To threaten one Ireheart is to threaten them all. These are things most descendants know by now. It would seem the descendants of Krug are as slow to realize these facts as a tortoise is to travel across the realm. In the middle of the night, unknown assailants entered the Clan Hall of Clan Ireheart and set it ablaze, defiling halls most sacred to our Clan. These assailants, the descendants of Krug, left messages etched into the walls and floors of our home. “Kor judges latz all.” were the words displayed through crude carvings amongst the charred rubble.

For centuries you have mocked and brought violence upon our clan. For centuries we have made the mistake of allowing you to live without facing Dungrimm’s justice. We will not be silent any longer, for our justified anger and wrath is now outside of the realm of control. From this day, until the last Ireheart takes their final breath, this is our promise to you o’ children of Krug.

    The Wronged:

    Clan Ireheart

    The Assailant:

    Descendants of Krug

    The Wrong:

    1) Burning and defiling of the Ireheart Hall

    2) Threats made against one Bakir Ireheart, Elder of Clan Ireheart

    3) Continuous violence and mockery of Clan Ireheart

    Terms of Settlement:

The complete extermination of the leaders of The Iron'Uzg.

    or

An honor duel between Gror Ireheart and the Rex with Dungrimm as the judge.

    EDIT:

    Spoiler

In pursuit of good faith, and after long conversations with some leaders of the Iron'Uzg, the grudge has been edited and with it the RP related to it. I want to make it clear that this grudge is in no way a representation of my feelings toward any players in OOC. One of the most important things to me is separating OOC from RP and I do my best to encourage that both in game and over discord. It is a game after all and it's meant to be fun. That being said, I realize that genocide or total extermination can be a touchy subject and furthermore, it can mislead players into feeling as if they are being targeted OOCly, which is not something I wish to bestow upon anyone. Due to the debate around whether this was a plot or not, we agreed and found this to be the best way to prevent OOC hostility surrounding something that should be entirely kept in RP. While this was not orchestrated by anyone as a plot to attack Orcs on our end, I understand and sympathize with the idea that some players involved may feel that this is the case. With that in mind, paired with the goal to prevent OOC toxicity or hostility on a serverwide level, we found this to be an acceptable compromise and one that will better the server rather than cause more separation. My intentions were innocent and rooted purely in what information I had IRP, but that doesn't mean I can't acknowledge when things are better solved with communication between those we share the server with.

    Best regards,

    Pancakehz :)

[!] A gathering of Dwedmar as they speak in favor of Grand King Bakir Ireheart.

    oVXZ3xwh7G4l1H1W4br8OuEV6_nZzOgsu9Poo_PI

    Dear Ulfric the Spineless,

It is said that every time a baby cries, a Frostbeard thinks of a new way to dissent from their kin. For a while, I did not believe this to be true after befriending some of my oldest enemies in Garrond and Hamnil Frostbeard. Now I see that when a Frostbeard is born, Yemekar flips a coin to decide whether they will be honorable or deceitful. For the two I now call friends, and many more within your ranks, I can deduce that Yemekar’s coin landed on the honorable side. The same cannot be said for you. You claim to speak for the people but how can you? You speak only for yourself, as your own clan does not even share your point of view. If you were educated by a true Frostbeard, you would know that they do not care who is King. For it is not the singular Dwed with a crown that makes the Kingdom, but the Dwedmar within.

Is it not deceitful to conspire with your council to betray your most steadfast and loyal clan? Is it not deceitful to run from an honor duel yet claim to be honorable? Is it not deceitful to then banish one who called you friend in the past over a petty squabble? Is it not deceitful to backtrack on your oaths to our allies and cause nearly all to turn their backs on our beloved Kingdom?

These are the actions of none but yourself, Ulfric. One would think that after such a fumble of foreign affairs, you would have learned from your mistakes and turned from the path of deceit. Yet the more I see your actions and hear your words I realize this is not so. Not only have you failed to learn, you continue down this path without remorse. Even now you seek to conspire against your King and push for his resignation. During your reign, we suffered losses from not only war but internal struggle. Our own kin suffered at the hands of your mistakes and my nephew inherited your mess and managed to clean it up. Grand King Bakir not only improved the way of life in Urguan, but he nurtured it with every fiber in his being, constantly striving to better himself and the lives of his people.

You return after absent years in the mountains and claim to know the true way of things in our halls. You claim that the Kingdom is crumbling and that we are weak. This is not only an insult to the Grand King himself, but an insult to all Dwedmar who have worked together to better this Kingdom. Not once during your time as a senator and advisor to my nephew did you go  to him about these reforms or propose them in the senate. Not once did you bring them before the  King's Council nor attempt to push through these reforms under your own reign. Perhaps your plague is not deceit but rather hypocrisy, for you find so easily the fault in the eye of another while failing to recognise the fault in your own.

If you wish to see reforms and changes in our Kingdom, grow a beard like a real dwed and bring your proposals to the King or any appropriate body of legislature. Abandon this cowardice and instead face the harsh reality of the situation. The idea that a new Grand King reinvigorates our kin into drastic reforms is foolhardy. All you will see is a faux revival of life and involvement by those who seek power during the transition of the crown.

If you want to see the change, then help us bring it about through unity instead of seeking to depose the Grand King. It is a foolish endeavor and one which we will not support you in. You know where to find us, Ulfric. Propose these reforms, if you have the beard for it, for we stand united behind the Grand King and our Grand Kingdom.

There is only one way forward for our people, Ulfric. Unity among ALL Dwedmar is the surest way to achieve everything we wish to see come to fruition. Abandon your foolishness and join your kin.

I don't think there's ever been CRP on that scale on LOTC outside of events because the playerbase lacks the constitution for it. 50 v 50 CRP fights were done on Runescape RP rather frequently - all warclaims were done in CRP and it lasted upwards 12 hours. Best way to handle it is to break it up into small parties that compete in CRP for sections of buildings.

You are correct though, in saying that calling CRP is a troll. Staff brought this upon themselves by removing the raid cap in the rules; this would have prevented the 30 v 40 sessions you're describing in the first place.

12 hours is out of the question ridiculous. Some of us work and have other obligations and are lucky to spend a couple hours a day on the server if that. This whole CRP rule essentially removes our ability to partake in any form of conflict unless we want it to be the only thing we do on LOTC that day.

you mean to tell me 40 people is your baseline for why you think we  should bring 1.8 back to lotc? that is absolutley ridiculous.

40 people spread out across an entire map 1v1ing eachother?? okay.

i've seen 50 or 60 people fights in Almaris where it didn't lag a bit, does that mean we should keep 1.9?? just a few weeks ago a buncha tripartite people (i forgot how many, i think somewhere between 50-70?) rallied and fought Ferrymen + BV at the Norland  Ferrymen keep and there was no lag at all in a battle of like 90 people. during the siege of Haverlock with over 200 people fighting at the same time, there was lag but barely any at all, you would hit a person and half a second later they would take damage. during the sutican war in Arcas, even a battle as small as a 5v5 was enough to crash the entire  server sometimes. at the end of the day i would love 1.8 to come back as it's a way lower of a skill gap, means people like the ferrymen or blackvale are less valuable as everyone can left click really quick,  but with the performance boosts i've  seen during Almaris vs Arcas i just don't see it being reasonable.

Are you referring to the raid on shipwreck keep where server tps was 11 and you had to hold your bows for extra time and use warhammers to do the damage of a long sword? I like both 1.8 and 1.9 but saying that a fight like that was lagless is major cope. The lag on arcas wasn’t caused by 1.8 pvp if you recall we were going through a period where the server tps was constantly at 1-4 tps. Even without pvp going on.

House Staunton has long gone without a place to call home within the realms of man. However, no more shall that be true. King Frederick I has granted the House of Staunton a barony for their service in fighting against the Emperor-Pretender during the Brothers' War. The actions taken by Louis, Alfred, and Caldwell Staunton through aiding a band of elite soldiers to capture the pretender, helped end the war before it devastated the lands that we hold so dear.

Therefore, House Staunton does announce the founding of the Barony of Whitewater, a settlement open and welcoming to all. Follow this crudely drawn map to reach the settlement.

    StauntonUpdated.png

Long has the House of Staunton been considered extinct or scattered in the wind. From the soldiers of the Barony of Fjordham, to the men who served King Tobias during his reign as King of Courland, Stauntons and their bannermen have been revered and honored by many throughout history, despite their fall from grace.

“Let history repeat itself” were the words of Louis Staunton, newly appointed Lord of House Staunton and patriarch of his family. Let history repeat itself as he and his brothers, Alfred and Caldwell, forged new stories to be told and legends to be sung.

Staunton history has seen its share of pretenders and false leaders claiming to have their subjects best interests at heart. For centuries, Stauntons have aided in unmasking the plots of such leaders and foiling their attempts at tyranny.

    "With Knowledge Comes Power"

The words that every Staunton knows to be true. For what is a man to do if he is misled or misguided? How can he truly serve GOD if he does not learn and decide his own fate? How can glory truly be achieved without men willing to forge it themselves?

With the return of the House of Staunton, I,  Louis Staunton, Lord of House Staunton do hereby swear fealty to the true King of Oren, King Frederick I.

We issue this warning to Peter the Pretender. Give up your false claim and lay down your false crown. Submit yourself to King Frederick I or face the wrath of the men loyal to his just and holy cause.

House Staunton hereby declares support for King Frederick I of the Kingdom of Oren.

To His Royal Majesty, King Frederick I, we have but one more thing to say to you in this missive.
