  1. I hope i am not getting too off-topic here but since they were mentioned... About the first thing, which Alan mentioned as well in the first page, i would recommend NoItem plugin. I used it on my old server along with commandsigns plugin so that players could learn diamond armor/tools/weapons recipes if they met the requirements and had the required money by clicking on a sign. As for the second, in my humble opinion (as i am also new to the server), things should be hard and they should reflect their RP difficulty. For example if diamonds are supposed to be rare in Anthos or if diamond armor is supposed to be hard to forge, there should also be gameplay restrictions if possible, except the RP ones. As for building materials in mines - like what firespirit said about the scarcity of quartz - i would personally prefer -unlike luxury items like diamonds - that they are not too rare... It would be a shame if a building is not what it could be because of them (yes, i too want to build with it :B)
  2. Thanks for the replies! I will find someone in-game once i am implemented and ask who owns that piece of land and then get permission! As for the ruins i'll ask someone with /modreq i guess.
  3. I apologise beforehand if this is not the correct section for my questions... Wanted to ask these, just to be safe. In my case, i have found an area i would like to build on. But... there is a camp and some ruins next to the area i want to build. The questions: Can i still build in the areas next to them and reform the land a little so that they retain their "ruiny" feeling? Likewise, can i slightly change the direction of a mountain stream if i can retain its natural beauty? I do not know if this particular area is protected - at least as a soul i don't have permission for /region info, but if it is and the above are ok to do, can i get permission for the area?
  4. Out-Of-Character Information Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate. Minecraft Account Name: Rest_In_Pieces How old are you?: 26 Time-Zone: UTC+2 Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes. What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I used to play pen and paper games and quite a lot of DnD, mostly as a DM. I have played in many RP servers of various games and in general, I believe I can understand and adapt to the concept of RP in a game. As for Minecraft, I have only played in lite RP servers up to this point, but I hope I will be able to adapt swiftly. Also as a side-note, i toned down this application to the level at which i would be able to RP in real time. This is my limit at the moment. How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: By browsing the MC forums. Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: I haven't made any. Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): I have. Have you read the Human lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Yes. Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: It is assuming the role of a fictional character, acting in a way that character would act and "becoming one" with it, while following the rules/logic/realism of his universe. Meta-gaming: Acting in a way that defies the rules/logic/realism of your world and mostly using knowledge your physical ...avatar possesses to the benefit of your digital avatar. Power-emoting: (Had to look this up) It is when someone uses emotes that enforce events and actions upon others. In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Taizo (Madao) Hasegawa Current Age: 26 Sub-race (if any): Southeron Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Taizo's parents came from two families of Southeron nobles, originating from the upper echelons in the long gone city, Al'Khazar. His somewhat peculiar name comes from his mother's lineage and is said to be one of the most prestigious family names of nobles who resided in Al'Khazar. Throughout the generations, having lost most of their status and power, the family quietly spent their lives in the eastern parts of the holy oren empire, the place where Taizo grew up. Taizo had shown an aptitude for architecture and was tutored from very early on. The years passed by and Taizo's parents passed away. Having just entered adulthood, he easily coped with the loss and moved on. At that point he started working for the government, mostly designing dungeons and sadistic redstone contraptions for local castle lords. A couple of years later, during an underground expedition, dedicated to the study of a cave dwarf civilization - for which Taizo was hired thanks to his architectural expertise - a terrible accident befell him. Something that appeared to be a small earthquake, caused many of the sectors in the ancient dwarven complex to collapse, leading to Taizo getting completely stranded from the rest of the archaeology expedition. After that incident he was registered as "missing in action" and even a funeral was held in his name. It was not after three years, that Taizo would emerge to the surface, having no memory at all of what happened in that place during the whole three years. Not even the reason he was now charred and deformed and resembling of a walking corpse. The only possessions he had on him was a broken white mask, now sunk in his flesh and some red and black ceremonial looking garments. Since then Taizo never spoke of that period of his life again and continued to live as if nothing had happened. Besides, he couldn't remember what happened. His passion for creation and architecture was never diminished - on the opposite, he strived more than ever, to achieve the alluring goal of perfection and ultimate beauty in his creations, never being satisfied with the result, something which, after all, is one of the prominent human characteristics. Ambitions for the Future: For Taizo, riches, political power or physical pleasures hold little meaning. The most important thing for him is bringing his art to the point of perfection, where, according to him, it emmits a different kind of power. Personality: Taizo is, in general, a reclusive, indifferent, eccentric but relatively friendly individual. His greatest vice is sloth and he will usually attempt to make others do all the menial gathering work for him so he can use the fruits of their labor for his own purposes. However, his intentions are not vile, as these purposes usually benefit those he previously "exploited" as well. Taizo's moral alignment could be summarized as "true neutral". He has a fairly strong but fluctuating sense of justice and he likes order, both in his work and the social environment around him. Order, though, can sometimes be subjective, according to Taizo. He also doesn't like to lead, nor does he like to be led and told what to do, except in the occasion that he deems that person is indeed worthy of leading him. At the end of the day, he mostly prefers everyone minding their own business and not meddling in his affairs. Skills: Architecture, terra-forming, city planning Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): As far as anyone is concerned, Taizo's face after the incident was always covered by a creepy white mask which also appears to be missing some pieces revealing a part of his deformed face. His clothing consists of an elegant red and black garment (more like a suit) with golden buttons and a red hood to cover his head. http://imgur.com/JptAh7I Any other details you wish to share about your character: Taizo isn't the character who opens up easily and can seem unfriendly at the beginning. He usually likes to mind his own business while he likes others minding theirs. He is not a religious person (in fact he mocks it) and he doesn't exactly make an effort to respect others' religion. Overall though, he is very rational and understanding. Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do? "The last thing i would want to do, after an exhausting day of trying to figure out the correct angle for that golden arch, was converse with these government goons... But there may be profit to be gained from this kind of situation... after all, all i have to do is alert the guards... If the culprit proves to be arrest-worthy, i could even get a reward and maybe buy a lifetime's supply of glowstone and not have to worry about that troublesome material anymore! ...But that shady fellow may prove useful... he might actually succeed in murdering the emperor and after that the heir may finally grant me that building permission in the central square! But what if the country falls into chaos and, in the end, gets invaded? Meh, not worth the risk...better call the guards..." <Taizo>"GUAAAAARDSSSS!!!" <Guard>"What is wrong citizen..?" <Taizo>"A suspicious looking person is heading towards the palace! He is clearly up to no good!" <Guard>"None is there... PERHAPS IT IS YOU WHO IS UP TO SOMETHING?!" <Taizo>"But he is right ther... ah.. Horen's balls, he left!" <Guard>"Sir, you are under arrest!!" 2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react? "Poor old man... those bandits will probably kill him anyway after they are done with him... I really hate how the strong can oppress the weak in such a cruel way... But.. what can i do...? If i try to help him now, chances are that we are both sent to the afterlife... If only these sla..err.. my partners worked harder to get me enough diamonds to craft a sword... I really want to help him...at any cost ...ok, here i go!!" *Some of the old man's guts get spilled next to the bush Taizo is hiding, as the bandits seem to have already slew him* "Pfff whatever..." 3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens). "So this fellow has a lot of glowstone in his stock... must get it at all costs..." <Taizo>"Hello friend! I would be interested in that glowstone of yours.." <Shady Merchant>"How much would you be interested kind sirsshh?" <Taizo>"What do you mean by how much??? I just want to buy it, please name your price and get on with it!" <Shady Merchant>"Glowstone is pretty precious you know... My underlings risked their lives to get it..." <Taizo>"Yes indeed, i guess it is not the easiest material to come by... but your price... what's your damn price? I don't have all day you know!" <Shady Merchant>"...300 Minas good sirsshh.." <Taizo>"ABSURD! Not even diamond costs that much! Are you out of your mind?! I'll generously offer you 30 Minas per block!" <Shady Merchant>"..relax good sirsshh... how about 250?" <Taizo>"Are you mocking me?!" <Shady Merchant>"200... i can't drop the price lower than that good sirssshh..." <Taizo>"Don't "good sir me"! You just want to suck the life out me don't you? You are an evil bastard, that's what you are!!!" <Shady Merchant>"Sir... i think i may have to call the guards... please keep your voice down.." <Taizo>"Don't tell me what to do you thieving scum!" *Guard arrives* <Guard>"Come with me sir.. NOW" <Taizo>"OK OK 200 Minas you blood sucking vampire!!! WAIT!!!" <Guard>"These won't be even enough for your bailout!"
