Wrote the lore so I'll keep this short.

Through the use of a specific concoction one gains a symbiotic being that feasts on the passive mana a soul procures. In turn the host will be able to utilize the being to temporarily alter their body.

Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student:

A robed man glanced over onto a similarly garbed figure, nodding.

"You'll learn alteration today, utilizing the Affliction to temporarily change your body. As with any art the more experienced one is the better they are, so on."

The teacher promptly hoisted an arm upwards, brows knitting against themselves as if some unforeseen strain crossed over him. This expression only magnified into a pained grimace, stifling pained yelps as a viscous fluid of murky coloration beginning to pervade from the pores and crevices of his forearm. 

This unfamiliar fluid permeated the majority of his extremity, the alteration hardly visible as some metal-esque appearing material began to replace the liquid, covering over the skin similar as to how one dons clothes.

Finally the limb seemed to appear as some form of bladed weaponry, flesh underneath hidden by this solidified essence, the fluid no longer apparent as this chitin-like weapon was left in its wake.

"Focus, will the Affliction to manifest and manipulate the arm as long as you uphold the symbiosis - it shall." The man struggled to announce after the process, breaths somewhat ragged.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Striga, Strigae plural, are the children of the Unseen, the latter creatures rooted in lineage to Iblees himself. Greater Strigae generally appear as any common individual, though the eyes are always one of some hue of yellow-green. Strigae are blessed with heightened abilities including increased strength, speed, and the boon of regenerating wounds, though depending on the severity. With these new perks come along a price that entails a deathly thirst for the lifeblood of descendants. If one neglects to ‘feed’ then the Striga share wither, weakening.

Greater Strigae possess two forms, a normal descendant appearing form, or their natural, beastial form.

This natural form makes the Striga appear roughly as a bat, feature wise. Noses flatten, ears becoming pointed, skin becomes tight to the bone, blackened veins showing visibly underneath. Striga in this natural form also have sharpened fangs and talons that grow from their fingers.

While needing to feed to survive should one overfeed they will degenerate into a lesser Striga, beastial things with only a desire for blood. Strigae are susceptible to the likes of Aurum and Silver, any wounds bestowed upon them from these armaments would not be regenerated immediately, the metals as well being uncomfortable to the touch. The same applies for holy magics, being vulnerable to it.

Strigae are infertile, they can not learn magics of any sort. The scent of excessive blood would drive them to a frenzy, driving even the most controlled to be rabid and feral, forcing them into the beastial form to feed, voluntary or not. This can not be reversed
