Full Name: Zarrac Reedwood
Current Age:150
Sub-race (if any): Dark Elf
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
Zarrac was born in the poor family of the Reedwood's in the capitol of Normandor, Early Asulon. He became an apprentice to a blacksmith at the age of 8 years old. The blacksmith not only taught him how to a forge but also gave Zarrac some basic training in the short sword. His parents died in the Asulon plague. The smith took Zarrac in as his own son after parents death. As the years pasted the urge to become a warrior strengthen and Zarrac left the guidance of the smith to join a band of freelance mercenaries at the age of 18 years old. Through training with them he made the choice to make the Halberd his weapon of choice and chose medium to heavy armor as his preference. As is the usual with most elves, he learned to use the bow and arrow - though his build made him much more efficient with a crossbow. He was with the freelance mercenaries up until recently.
After some one and one third century, he approached the leading position among the mercenaries. As it may be assumed, many members lacked discipline and tensions were almost always present between one member or another. Most of these situations paled in insignificance to what approached one Zarrac Reedwood. As time went on, he left many relations in disrepair. Eventually, he had acquired more enemies than allies. A horrible mutiny occurred, driving him from the very band of brothers-in-arms that he called his own for over a century. Crushed, and his will broken, he wandered Anthos, using what small amount of coin he was able to bring with him to survive when needed, though relying still on being hired out as a mercenary.
Ambitions for the Future: Find work with another force - most likely an organized army. All said, he really only wants something to fight for.
Skills: Strengths- Has used Halberd and short sword combination. Has skill as a smith. Decent with bow, better with a crossbow. Has a general knowledge of plants and berries. Uses medium to heavy armor.
Weakness: Does not have stealth. Not as agile as the normal elf. Acts without thinking. Has trouble trusting others.
Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin):
Normally, Zarrac would be seen in his armour. In the event he is unable to wear it, he'll be clad in a simple blue cape and slihghtly duller tunic. As a mercanary, he doesnt keep much more in the way of clothing.
Any other details you wish to share about your character: Will sometimes follow his heart instead of his head. This can prove either a help or hinderance varying greatly on the means and situation. Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____ 1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react?
Answer: Zarrac watches for a few seconds, watching. Crossing his arms, he walks away. Seeing as he is a mercenary, and a traveling one at that, he would be in it for the money. Seldom can a child provide sufficient funding to cover any service of his. No coin, no heroic savior. Truly, it was as simple as that. 2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do?
Answer: Zarrac chuckles, seeing the old man. Being a firm believe in the concept of 'survival of the fittest,' he has no problem in leaving the man be. Perhaps some other 'hero' would come along and help him.
"Survival and prowess is for those capable of wielding it. Stay in your home next time."
Caring little for the innocent man before him, he takes the coins, leaving without a second thought. You may hear him humming a tune as he continues down the street, counting the coins. The old man looks after him in disbelief.
((Note: I am aware that a VA for thievery is required for this, and won't commit the action until I have one.)) 3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved).
Answer: Zarrac allows the merchant to show him the various good he offers, paying little attention to anything but the small selection of arms and armour. Seeing nothing he finds worth a purchase, he is about to leave when something catches his eye. Peeking out from inside the carriage is the upper half of a fine halberd, noticabl superior to any other weapons on the site - including his own.
"How much for that halberd there, llir?" He asks the merchant. The merchant gets a slightly pained look on his face before responding.
"Unfortunately that is not for sale. It's a special order."
Zarrac rubs his chin, before counting out a large sum of coins, dumping into the merchants hands - a couple hundred more than the approximate worth of the halberd. For good measure, he adds a couple more coins to the pile, raising an eyebrow at the merchant. The merchant seems to consider for a few moments. He looks around, as if worried about being seen even in such a place. He takes the coins.
"I suppose . . . I could let it . . . disappear overnight."
He takes the halberd from the carriage, and gives it to Zarroc. "Pleasure doing business with you. . . now get out of here before I end up in trouble."
WIthout another word, Zarroc takes the halberd, and takes his leave.
