A finely written letter arrives, it is stamped with the insignia of a horse head
I wish to replenish a lost herd. I will buy your two finest horses for 800 minas each.

The way I see it, wars are a problem, because a nation stays a nation if they lose. Theoretically, a full war could result in one nation taking an entire different nation as their own and forcing culture upon them, or at least making one nation under a king. This would lead to rebellions, which is a different story.
Long story short, if nations could 100% conquer other nations, there would be less wars, as there is more to lose, so people would think carefully.

I personally find the use of mixed woods, especially on roofs, unpleasing. I prefer a more linear roof color, but a more interesting shape. As to the walls, stone should not be varied TOO much. People assume messy medieval means random stones everywhere. No. Choose a base material such as bricks. Place them down. Then, destroy one or two here and there, then replace. No one makes things out of a million materials, they use one, and then replace it with others as it breaks down. That's my view anyway.

((It is extremely hard to sell RP items to begin with. Second of all, the laks of items to even represent will also hurt business. The price is also quite high, especially if a wolf, the equivalant of an arctic fox, costs a mere 50 minas to many breeders.))

The larger issue for many gays is something called the next of kin effect. In fact, as I know many gays, I can say that most don't care if they are married or not. However, if they are not married, many states do not accept them as next of kin, or the ones to receive the other's items or have life-changing decisions (such as to "pull the plug"). Civil unions allow this in some cases, and many are happy with that. If homosexuals could register as next of kin, the pleas for homosexual marriage would actually greatly lower.

We don't need to hear about your sexual orientation. Stay unbiased Zarsies and Sky ;)
While I usually believe in mostly factual debates, do you not think that the topic itself lends to a more biased discussion, in one way or an other? In fact, this debate could not truly be argued with facts, and opinions are the only way to debate this topic. Would you not agree? If you think differently, I would be happy to discuss it, as I find this thread a very interesting topic.

Personally, as a Christian, I should say that same sex marriage is a sin. But, I'll just put this out there, it's not my personal duty to prevent people from sinning, just teach those about Christ's love, and compassion, and not sin myself? Or, atleast that I am aware of. I'm sure I'm supposed to to some extent. But, I don't really care about same sex marriage, if you honestly feel that way go for it. If someone tries to stop you, then just keep goin' at it. Love is love, and if it be a sin, love, is still love.
As someone who is very pro-LGBT rights, I found your viewpoint refreshing. You clearly disagree with the idea, but you are able to keep the topic civil and kind. For that, I thank you, and hope that others follow in your example. +1
In case that sounded, sarcastic, which I realize dit sort of could, I am being totally serious.

Can I ask that this be removed or at least blocked. As a person who has family members who are homosexual, I prefer if we do not even try to be civil. It just leaves room for inflammatory remarks. Even if none have been made yet, there is always the chance of it happening, and I do not find that to be in the spirit of the game.

I find scimitars to be quite fun to RP with actually.

Rokkur gently steps out of his home, reading the news, and he sighs softly. He tucks the note under his arm, gently striding out to his horse. "Of Kings and thrones...perhaps I will ride."
He rides to Brom'Krah, eager to meet again his friends

I assume the purpose of this is to have more people donating? If not, feel free to ask an FM to erase this post.
I have been considering donating for a bit now, but have decided against it. I feel as though I do not gain from it as much as I once did, and here is why:
1.Lockpicking isn't around much anymore, so if I get a friend to do it, I only have to do it once
2.I have enough wealth that I sell my products RPly, as opposed to MCly, through the use of the merchant plugin
I feel like right now, the donations only provide an MC advantage, yet I enjoy roleplay above all else. I feel as though I wouldn't use the donation, so maybe more RP-centralized rewards would improve donations?
Not sure how you would do this, but this is just a possible solution.
Again, if this seems off topic, or not what your original post was aiming for, then ask an FM to remove it or move it to the right place.
Thoughts?

What if, when there was a disagreement as to RP or PVP, a roll would ensue? The highest roller winds, and his method is chosen. NO PvP_default to ***** about and no-RP default to ***** about...Feedback?

You'll encounter the same problems many times more, might as well accept your loss instead of asking for 1000 minas or else a BR.
I asked for that because that is what the horse you killed without RP reason or OOC consent cost me -_-.

No need to argue. ET isn't all RP, it depends on what group you're directing the event towards. If you were doing an event towards Orcs, we would ask for PvP, and you'd have to deal with that.
And if I died, that would be the end of it. Matter resolved. Case closed, it ended fair and square. But when miscommunications and lack of assistance due to OOC problems occur, that bothers me.

I believe the BR describes your reaction to losing. ET is a position which is mostly made up of giving enjoyment to others, you getting mad at others for said reason(s) won't help you. i suggest you reflect on your OOC attitude towards specific topics before applying for ET.
I would argue that, and people would back me up. I have lost more battles than I have won, because I find it just as entertaining. My main character is missing an arm, because I chose to lose a fight for beneficial RP. I don't mind losing RPly. It's when stupid OOC confusion and problems cause loss that there is a problem.
After all, being ET is about RP.

You raged when you lost, then you posted a BR out of that same fire-built rage.
I hardly has a chance to lose, because I was typing an emote when I was mobbed, but this isn't about the BR, so let's just drop it.

You would come make a negative post because I filed a ban report? You got off scott-free for what you did, why are you complaining?

*Rokkur posts a note*
I would be willing to pay handsomely for the enchantments on the bow, and how to make them. If you would show me the glyphs, I would pay quite well, but the bow itself, I do not seek.

Rating Gms.

I won't pretend we all think all the GMs are equal, but this doesn't promote strong management, and let me offer an explanation why, not just "THIS IS TROLLY" and "FLAME".
1. I feel as if people appreciate GMs who are kinder and care less, just as we see the teachers who don't care as "cool". However, the one GM to tell me off has been 30326, and my experience has changed for the better on the server. However, if I was just told off by him, chances are, I would end up giving him an Orange rating, saying he screwed me over. However, I now see that thanks to him, my RP experience is so much richer and more fun.
2. People judge GMs on how they make the judge feel at that moment, rather than looking forward. As I stated above, the most influential GM I have met is 30326, yet I get more daily help from Zarsies and Frottimer (both of whom I adore). So most people would state that Zarsies and Frottimer are the best in my situation. However, in the longterm, the little lessons, even about life, that 30326 taught me in 30 minutes of talking to him have changed my RP lifestyle, and my lifestyle out of LotC.
To conclude, if action is taken based on these polls, some of the best GMs will get hurt, because they cause the most infuriating immediate damage. And who else comes to rate GMs poorly, but the ones most recently hurt. I feel as if this is not an accurate portrayal of how hard and how effective the GMs are, as they are judged by those who have had profound reactions with them, and profound, unfortuneatly, often means poor.
