3. Out-Of-Character Information Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate. Minecraft Account Name: bubblesbop How old are you?: 13 Time-Zone: EST Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes, I have. What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: None, I would like to try it out though. How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: My cousin was playing it and I wanted to try it out. Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/92096-elf-bubblesbop/ Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): Yes, I have. Have you read the Elven lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Yes, I have. Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: Acting like someone else, as in a character, by creating a back story. Meta-gaming: When characters use out of character information while they are in character. EX- A friend tells you that they need help via Skype, your character goes to help them without your character being told through role-play. Power-emoting: When a character declares his action successful, especially in combat, without giving the opponent a chance to act against it. EX- Bob stabs Steve with a dagger, killing him. [VERSUS NON POWER-EMOTING] Bob attempts to stab Steve with a dagger. Steve tries to move out of the way, but his arm gets sliced slightly. In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Alanna Zora Orama Current Age: 225 Sub-race (if any): Wood Elf Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Alanna had a hard life, she was born in Aegis in a small town outside of Laurelin into a poor family who was hardly scraping by. At school she was excluded from most things, for her eyes are a pale teal which is very uncommon. This has taken a toll on her, as she doesn’t like to talk to people she doesn’t know. At school she was also discriminated against because she became very obsessed with learning about the forefather of elves, Malin, and reading about the Ancient Language of Elves. Her family life also became ruined once her mother, against all odds, became pregnant again with her sister Aloevan. At this point, Alanna was 110 and had started working to help support her family. The relationship between her father and her mother grew worse and worse during the pregnancy, and soon enough her father abandoned them to move to the capital and and start his own life. Soon after Alanna’s father left, Aegis was overtaken by the undead, causing Alanna, Aloevan, and their mother to flee with the rest of their town to Asulon. They lived peacefully for a while with other Wood Elves. However, one day when Alanna was home alone, a strange man came to their house and almost kidnapped Alanna. She escaped (due to her quick thinking) by scaring him off with a knife that was in the kitchen. The knife was a dagger. She didn’t want anyone to worry about this, so she swore to never tell anyone. Ever sense Alanna’s possible kidnapping, Alanna has saved up her minas for a throwing dagger. A day before her 178th birthday, she got the dagger. She would go out every day and practice while her mother was at work. Exactly nine months after she started to practice her dagger throwing, her mother found out. Her mother took her dagger. Alanna was a mess, making bad choices. Alanna ended up stealing some minas from her mother and running away. She spent most of her minas on throwing daggers and food. She then got separated from her family for a few years, especially when people fled from Asulon to Elysium and Kalos. One day, while Alanna was bartering with a human for a new dagger, she received a message from her mother than her sister, Aloevan, had gotten onto a ship in hopes of new life in the Holy Princedom of Malinor in Anthos. Alanna quickly saved up money and embarked on a ship to go and find her younger sister. Ambitions for the Future: Alanna would like to have her own family and help out with whatever her husband does, if possible. Personality: Alanna is shy, she don’t have much of a self esteem. Alanna is not bothered by things like death or blood. She is violent sometimes. Alanna tries to be careful with what she says or does. Sometimes things slip out without her thinking. Her friends know me to be very open and a little crazy. She try to do the right thing but am too shy to go up to a stranger and ask them for directions. The time’s that Alanna does talk openly to strangers is when she thinks she’s standing up for something that is good or right. Skills: Throwing daggers Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): If you can’t see the picture below please copy and paste the link- http://imgur.com/Rn0VWIu Any other details you wish to share about your character: Alanna has a dagger always on her, if she doesn’t have it she will have a panic attack. Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of older elves are mocking a small elven child. How do you react? Answer: I look around, wondering why the older elves are mocking the child. I walk by trying to hear what they are saying, too shy to do anything. “You’re too little to hold this knife!” One elf yells. I think over to all the children in the kingdoms who already know how to fight. I shake my head and keep listening, pretending to trip and fix my shoe. “Maybe we should stick this knife through his shirt and stick it into a tree!” One of the older elves shouts. I take a deep breath and walk over and ask why they are being so rude. The elves ignore me and keep picking on the child. “Excuse me!” I shout. All the older elves turn around, surprised to see that I shouted. “I was passing by and heard shouting and want see what was the problem. I look over and a child is being mocked. You all should know better.” I glare at all of the older elves. “I think I should take this child back to their home.” The child looks at me and nods and takes my hand. 2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do? Answer: I run up to the man and help him up and once he is stable and standing, I go to clean up the coins and give them back. “Are you alright? Do you need assistance going back to your home?” I ask, unsure why I am talking so openly to him. The old man smiles. “I am fine, I just tripped. Nothing to worry about, my dear.” The old man puts a gold coin in my hand. I look up at him and stare at him, unsure what to do or say I tell him to not give it to me but the elf ignores me and goes on his way. I walk away still questioning if I should keep the coin or not. 3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved). Answer: I walk over to the trader, slowly, eyeing a new dagger. “Perhaps, that dagger looks very nice.” I say, pointing at the dagger resting against the wall. The trader smiles and walks over to the dagger and brings it over so I can get a better view. “You like it?” The elf asks. I pull out my old, worn dagger and compare it. I put my own dagger back and pat my pouch of coins knowing that I need to conserve them. “It’s beautiful. How much are you asking?” I ask, not thinking. The trader elf sighs and thinks. “Let’s start with 14 coins.” The elf looks into my eyes. I turn away quickly to check my coins. I count them inside my head and come up with 10 coins. “I’m sorry I don’t have 14 coins. I have ten. Could you go down to 8 or 7?” I ask, scared that the trader will say no. He smiles. “Yes I may, my dear.” I smile widely and give him the coins and thank him as I turn away.
