What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying, in essence, is taking the role of a character and acting as him/her in accordance as to how the character would react to the world around them and situations that they are presented with. What is metagaming?: Metagaming is using out-of-character knowledge while playing your character to gain an advantage over other roleplayers. For example, if you were asked to help build a certain event that included numerous amounts of hidden chests, using that knowledge of those hidden chests to get that loot first when the event comes around would be metagaming. Character’s name: Renault Falkner Character’s gender: Male Character’s race: Farfolk Human Character’s age: 19 Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Renault comes from a seaside town, far from the Isles of Vailor. His father was a mid-ranking guard while his mother was renowned by the town for her fantastic cooking; and he was raised well by both. Renault, as a child, attended the only school in his small town. And while, through his schooling years, he never achieved anything amazing academically, he found one thing that ended up being his driving passion; his love of the sea. While this may seem commonplace in a seaside town; this was something else. During the long, boring days of his early school days, Renault would stare out the class windows, watching the ships dock and leave port; with their crew of dozens and their ship's painted and emblazoned wooden bodies. He was fascinated by them from such an early age, and always wondered what it would feel like to captain such a huge vessel. That was until his daydreams were interrupted by his teachers yells or annoyance. And so as Renault's life went on, his wonder of ships grew only further; and he explained to his parents his ambitions of wanting to have a life of sea-faring. And while they whole-heartedly agreed, they wanted Renault to complete his years at school. So while Renault played out the bore of his school-life, as a teen he actively searched for employment on board a ship; as a deck-hand, stock-watched; anything he could grab to get himself on the seas and sailing. And once his schooling days had finished, and he had graduated with acceptable results, he had found something that caught his eye; a deck-hand aboard a huge merchant ship; painted a beautiful maroon and gold. The goodbye to his parents and friends was brief but well-meant, knowing that he may not see any one of them again; but he knew over anything that at sea is where his passion lay. So on-board this ship he went, off to a land he had never heard before; The Isles of Vailor. Personality Traits: Renault is a talkative, and overall friendly guys. He likes to initiate conversations and talks, and he knows how to hold one well. He is passionate, yet modest; but has no problem talking about his passion. Renault is down-to-earth, and understanding, and warm-hearted. Ambitions: Renault's dream is to own and captain his own sea vessel, despite his lack of training and experience prior to being on a ship; he is ready to learn. Settling down and raising a family after his ventures at sea comes to a second. Strengths/Talents: Renault is a quick-learner, as well as a natural born leader; being able to work as a group, as well as alone and motivate people well. He is analytical and has initiative, as he can always work at the problem at hand, and step up when people don't. He is ambitious and adventurous, as he likes to take risks and challenges, and is driven to succeed. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Renault is sometimes hard-headed, being young, he can charge into things completely unprepared while he things otherwise. Being from a lone town, he is not knowledgeable of the outside world as most people would be, as with his intelligence; seeming as he concentrated very little during his schooling years. Renault also has the tendency to let his mind wonder when bored or when tasks become to tedious, despite taking them up in the first place.
