Hi, I'd like to apologise in advance if my post comes across as incredibly nooby. But human lore has got me at my wit's end.
I'm still in the process of designing a character. Obviously I don't want any part of my character to interfere with lore, I want it to integrate with lore. However every time I try to develop my character I'm left with doubts.
"What if that's not the way they handle things in Abresi?"
"What if I think I'm right about this thing and then my application gets denied because I've got the lore all wrong?"
And so-on... Oh and the politics. I don't understand real-life politics no matter how hard I try, do I stand a chance here? Reading the human history section of the wiki just gives me a splitting headache.
So I'm going to try to come up with as concise questions as I can in hopes of better understanding the lore, but please if you think this is way over my head then tell me. I understand some people just aren't cut out for complex RPs like this one. If you think I'm one of these people, be honest.
1) What is the current in-game year?
2) Is my character allowed to have been raised on a very small farm that is not physically on the current map? If not, what sorts of origins are allowed for the character of a first-time player (location-wise)?
3) I'm starting to understand what is expected of residents in Abresi, but how are visitors treated by locals and authorities (for example, a visitor seeking the whereabouts of a missing relative)? How about visiting traders or farmers with surplus produce, do they need a permit to sell their stuff?
4) How long ago did New Abresi open?
5) Where do Kingdom of Oren and Herendul meet? Is there a no-man's land in-between or any kind of border?
6) Can anyone offer a summary of the relationships of these two kingdoms? I can only find scattered hints here and there in the human roleplay forum, but nothing concrete and I don't want to make any assumptions before submitting my character application.
7) Anything else you think I should know, gauging from my lack of understanding in any particular areas you think might be important?
