With the defiant tide of the Silver State of Haelun’or and the effrontery of all Elvenkind, the time for definitive action has been called. The Orenic sphere of influence must be extended to encompass this obstinate race, and its people must be quelled and tempered by the hand of Humanity.

The assurance of a stable and serene southern border is paramount in the agenda of the Kingdom of Oren, and so for the sake of prosperity within, the following desire has been expressed to the State of Cerulin. Long has Cerulin been harassed by foreign foes; the Kingdom of Oren sees the State in need of nurturing and guidance, and is willing to offer this for the sake of both their continued existence and opulence.

This document, known henceforth as the Emerald Binding, will absorb the independent State of Cerulin under the dominion of the Kingdom of Oren. It will act as a subsidiary client state under the will of the Kingdom and abide by the following stipulations:

    1. The complete recognition that the former State of Cerulin is henceforth a client state of the Kingdom of Oren, known as the Province of Cerulin.

    2. The former State of Cerulin abdicating its independence and officially absorbing itself into the Kingdom of Oren as a province.

    3. The agreement to recognize the King of Oren as the supreme matter of authority within the Province of Cerulin.

    4. The agreement to abide by the laws of the Kingdom of Oren, and hold no exceptions or province-specific laws without approval from the Lord Justiciar.

    5. The agreement to make no foreign agreements, pacts, alliances or otherwise without the express consent from the King of Oren.

    6. The complete destruction of any false religious icons, temples or otherwise that praise anything other than the Creator. Furthermore, the worship of Malin is hereby forbidden.

    7. The agreement to suppress any and all publications that may incite contempt within the Kingdom of Oren.

    8. The agreement to expel any persons declared as fugitives within the Province of Cerulin or any of its affiliate subsidiaries.

The Kingdom of Oren, as the protector of Cerulin, will hereby agree to the following:

    1. To protect the Province of Cerulin from any internal or external threat that is also deemed a threat by the Kingdom of Oren.

    2. To ensure the stability and relative peace of the Province by whatever means necessary.

    3. To ensure the survival and growth of the Wood Elven race.

    4. To defend the rights of loyal Elven subjects that live under the laws of the Kingdom of Oren.

    5. To appoint a Provincial Governor approved by the King to act as the regional subordinate of the Kingdom.

The obligations and promises stated in this document will be upheld indefinitely; any violation in obligation will cause an immediate termination in the treaty, and all its former obligations becoming null and void.

The following signatories hereby render this treaty agreeable and bind their respective nations under its terms:

    The Kingdom of Oren

    King Olivier de Savoie

    Lord Chancellor Guy de Bar

    The Province of Cerulin

    Tristin Tresery, Provincial Governor

  3. Another mundane day of administrative duties, another day of the monotonous work that had held an Ashford’s life captive for decades. Who was to know that this one would bear such a great impact?

“You are hereby officially ordered by royal decree to relocate with your immediate retinue to the Elven Lands, so as to pursue an immediate and peaceful end to the conflict brewing in the region. Do not return to Oren until you have accomplished the goals set out by your liege. Failure is a sure sign of incompetence, and the Crown will react appropriately.”

These words rang through Olivier de Savoie’s head, still bearing the herald’s articulation and clarity. Had the king intended to for his duke to be mired in such an insurmountable task in an effort to secure the condemnation of his house? He could merely ponder as the king and his entourage abruptly arrived at the Silver City’s gates, having come with intentions of diplomacy. Formalities were exchanged between the groups, High Elves passing off shallow pleasantries to the stoic king. An air of tension had began to settle amidst the group of man and elf as the party departed for the library of Haulen’or.

The vast din of barks and orders from both king and commander had proven to be overwhelming in the confines of Haulen’or’s library, but this did not cause any disruptions in the errant duke’s musings. The lot of soldiery expressed palpable fear as Andrik inspected their formation; however, the entirety of the ranks bore a welling pride as they stood before an iconic figure for humanity. This man, though able to conduct great cruelty, still served as a beacon for the downtrodden and crushed of mankind. It was not long until the king departed with a small entourage, setting off to discuss matters with the elven Sohaer. Rank and file fell at mild ease with his departure, whisperings of banter being passed about.

It had been mere moments after Andrik’s leave that a shocking sound emitted from the plaza below. The bloodcurdling screams of a man in agony echoed about the lofty room, causing a great stir amongst the men stationed within. As if on queue the multitude of Orenian soldiers flooded out of the library, occupants that were stuck waiting inside merely peering out of the windows in curiosity. Olivier rushed to the balcony above, gaining a direct view of the ghastly sight: the very man which had greeted him not minutes ago being rendered to a charred, mangled corpse.

Some stood frozen in sheer shock, others began to weep for their lost king; voices cried out in futility to save the now damned monarch. But it was all the same- here a man of great power and renown had been rendered as helpless as a mere babe, surrounded by the entirety of his most talented entourage. The duke stared onwards with a blank countenance, his pale eyes rendering what transpired before him. Should he rejoice inwardly, a potential foe being removed from the equation? No- for it had been that the two men once held meetings as brothers, kinsmen in a time where all else stood to bring ruin unto the Heartlands. Here his kinsman was turned to dust, not a single man capable of providing him comfort in death. A band of marauding soldiers had set fire to the library, ash rising the burning furniture. The nauseous scent of burnt fabrics hung thick in the air. Soon the Orenian soldiers descend upon the Silver City in a fury, putting men, women and child to the sword alike. But amidst it all Olivier could only muster a single thought, a mere string of a sentence:

“There is no greater sin than to blot out humanity’s light.”

  4. Name: Olivier de Savoie

    Title: Duke

Holding: Duchy of Savoy, county of Aldersberg, County of Poddlebonk.

Do you swear loyalty to the King, Andrik Vydra, and his Kingdom of Oren until death? Do you accept that treason and betrayal will be met with no mercy and that your lands and title shall be forfeit if such a course of action is taken? ((Agreeing to this is an OOC agreement to allow permakill if captured and executed while in the act of rebellion or treason, and agreement to accept any conquest war claim that may be a result of rebellion)): Yes.

((In submitting this, I also accept any possible future conquest warclaims as a result of rebellion on my own lands and agree to a permakill if captured and executed by any rebel factions. This is not required, but not signing may have consequences IC))

"An entourage from the reaches of Sunspear, your grace. Rhoynars, the lot of them; twenty five men and two wenches of the Martell bloodline. An envoy is present, as well."

Adolar sits idle in his council chambers, contenting himself with passively gazing upon the jagged cliffs flanking castle Yronwood. A brief silence fills the room as the servant's announcement comes to a close, allowing the Andal lord a brief moment of contemplation. He offers the herald a subtle nod,

    speaking up.

"Allow the envoy entry, see what it is this party seeks."

"Very well, your grace. I shall hasten unto our guests."

Moments later the servant returns bearing the missive sent by Lurcano of Martell. Catching sight of the waxen seal Adolar takes no time in tearing the envelope open, hastily scanning the contents within. His eyebrows furrow as he ascertains the text; was it another attempt at Rhoynar treachery? Leaving no spare time for idleness, Adolar pens a missive of his own, emblazoning it with the waxen gates of house Yronwood. Upon concluding his texts he issues the standing herald a final order.

"Deliver this to the Martell troupe; they shan't have a place in my court. See to it that they are sent back to Sunspear without delay."

The letter to Lurcano Martell would detail as follows:

To the Patriarch Lurcano of Martell,

There can be no definitive peace in Dorne while you Rhoynar marauders grasp at territory that is not rightfully yours. If you and your house seek peace then see to it that your kind are packed up on the very vessels that brought you from Essos, taking promptly returning to the lands from whence you came. House Martell has no place in Dorne; the Seven have entrusted we, the Andal peoples, as the true lords and stewards of the land- not Rhoyar. Abstain from governing a peoples that you hold no rights over.

    Signed,

His Grace, King Adolar of Yronwood.

    After attending to the Martells, Adolar calls for a meeting of his entrusted councilors. Matters of stewardship and soldiery are discussed amongst the lot, lords mulling over the topic of another military incursion by the hand of the Rhoynars. A summary of garrisoned troops and surplus finances are recorded on a dossier as the meeting concludes;

Do you wish to play a GM? If you play a GM you probably can't play a faction: No.

    Faction of choice: Yronwood

Why you picked said faction: The culture and ancient history of the faction captivated my interest.

Biography of faction. Describe your family in age and characteristics along with proving you read your faction's information section. Be realistic with family size, names (pick them based on historical members of your dynasty, ex. Mern for Gardener) age and personalities/capabilities:

Lord Adolar Yornwood; A man of iron will and conviction, Adolar is a staunch traditionalist, faithful follower of the seven and invested in all matters familial. He bears a stout build, standing 5'9. His close-cropped hair is straw blonde and his eyes a deep blue. Aged 43.

Karl, heir apparent; A stoic man in his young adulthood, Karl was reared in court and took a fondness to stewardship. While lacking the combat prowess of his father, he substitutes such with matters of management. He stands at 5'11 and takes on a much gaunter appearance than his father, retaining similar eyes and hair. Aged 21.

Belinda, first daughter; A gentle girl of noble birth, Belinda was given proper guidance by her mother on feminine activities and has taken a particular liking to gardening. She takes on the features of her mother, Adela, her hair brunette. Aged 18.

Conrad, 2ndborn son; A youthful boy who enjoys hunting and sparring with his peers, Conrad takes on qualities which could very well embody the spirit of the Andals. A powerful lad that has several years of growth ahead of him, Conrad is the spitting image of his father, Adolar. Aged 16.

Can you be active? A post every 2-3 days at minimum is expected: Yes

  7. "The kharajyr are isolationists, attacking them just makes yourself look bad." says the great Caliph, Faiz Kharadeen.

The Emir Al-Musta'sim, having moved up the ladder from being a mere Petrusian moslem, nods at the Caliph's wise words. He proceeds to go off with the Wazir, plotting the demise of the northern Yazidis and their Iblees-worshipper compatriots.

  8. A particularly drab missive would arrive at the Heartlander court present in Angren, a courier delivering the parcel. Such a letter is adorned with a waxen seal bearing the sun's sigil, being that of house de Savoy and her cadet branches. It would soon likely circulate the other realms of humanity. The contents read as follows:

"The Duke Olivier de Savoie hereby renounces any ties to the fragmented Kingdom of Oren on account of his liege’s inability to adhere to the feudal contract. Henceforth, it shall be known that he advocates the Kingdom of Renatus and its counterparts, as do those bound by vassalage to him."
