I bought minecraft a few months ago after seeing some random but amazing builds. I wanted to see if I could find a few Lord of the rings builds and when I typed it into the minecraft forums, Lotc showed up as well.
What do you think the server will be like?
I hope the server will be a place where I can create enjoyable roleplaying experiences for other roleplayers as well as enjoying the roleplay that other roleplayers wish to include me in. More importantly, I think this will be a learning experience.
Have you read and agreed to the rules?:
Yes, I have.
What’s your favourite rule / the rule you agree with the most?:
I think this rule is vital, there’s no one who can play someone else’s character as intended, but the original creator of said character, to me it shows a lack of originality.
Definitions
This is simply so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not another website / person's!
What is roleplaying?:
To me, roleplaying is like an ever growing book, in which I am able to make up a character, give it personality and traits unique to them based on their history, and then place this character I have created into a setting with other characters so that they may interact accordingly; creating an intricate story.
What’s metagaming?:
The act of using information obtained out of character via Mumble, Ventrilo, TeamSpeak, Skype, private messages etc., and applying it to your character's knowledge when they have no way of knowing or obtaining that information in character.
What’s powergaming?:
Forcing one’s character, that is not your own, to do an action without said character’s permission. This leaves no way for the other person to interact and therefore, takes away from the rp experience.

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family (Include server lore when writing):
“Don’t touch that, child!”
A middle aged mother hissed down to the child standing next to her. The bustle of New Abresi’s market that morning left little Margaret equally as restless. She had been shifting from one foot to the other, making a game of balancing her weight on one leg when the sweet aroma of freshly baked cookies filled the child’s nostrils. Having only eaten a few bites of stale bread this morning before helping her mother with daily chores, little Margaret’s stomach growled, urging her to reach for a particular cookie located nearest to her. Margaret’s mother, who was watching the child carefully, firmly yanked the child back and reprimanded her despite the on lookers. Margaret’s ears turned pink with embarrassment as her mother pushed her forward and insisted on an apology. Bowing her head the child mumbled a quick apology before hiding behind her mother’s leg.
It would only be later that night where Margaret’s mother would sit down with her child and explain. Pulling Margaret into her lap, her mother stroked her hair gently as she sang an old lullaby. Glancing up at her mother, Margaret pouts gently.
“Mama? Why didn’t you eat today?”
She asked, her gaze filled with curiosity.
“Because, my dear, I have to feed you first.”
A sad smile forms on her lips as she gently runs her hands through Margaret’s hair.
“I would have shared my cookie with you, Mama!”
The child speaks up, a hint of worry creasing her brow. Margaret’s mother scowls and makes a sharp click of her tongue while shaking her head.
“Don’t you know stealing is bad, Margaret? Do you know what happens to thieves and other bad people?”
Margaret shakes her head gently, her gaze focused on her mother’s stern features.
“They send all the bad people to Setherien and the Northern beasts. I hear that they especially love bad little girls who like to take things that don’t belong to them! That’s why!”
Margaret’s mother sighs gently as she watches her daughter’s face morph into an expression of terror. She knew that what she had said was untrue for the most part, and was only told as a means to scare Margaret. Crooning gently, she hugs the girl close and places a kiss to her forehead.
"Don’t worry, my sweetling. Mama just wants what is best for you. Hard work and honesty is first and foremost.”
The older woman smiles reassuringly and hugs the child close, Staying quiet for a few moments, she turns her gaze towards the window, watching the glow of torches illuminate the road and the sounds of Kraltan evening drifted through the windows.
“Mama? Is that why Papa isn’t here with us anymore?”
Margaret looks up at her mother, her face showing a hint of uneasiness. Her mother on the other hand shook her head quickly, and began to reassure her daughter’s fears.
“No no, my sweet. Papa was killed by the Black Scourge. He was a good man and loved you very much. He would not want to see his daughter reduced to stealing. Promise me that you won’t steal ever again.”
Margaret nods her head quickly a smile forming on her face as she cuddled close to her mother.
Life for Margaret was far from easy. Growing up as a poor peasant on the outskirts of Ruska, she and her mother barely scraped enough mina together to put food in their mouths. As any child from a typical peasant family, the temptation of taking just enough to survive on came up more than once, but was quickly suppressed by her mother’s stern gaze and lecturing. It was from a young age, Margaret developed a sense of longing to make her mother happy, but also to adhere to her mother’s warnings about honesty and hard work. Thus her resolve to grow into something more, to provide for her mother and ultimately to see the woman, who had given birth to her, smile.
By her late teens Margaret was a hard-working woman. She took over the small farm where both her and her mother lived, and began making trips into New Abresi to try and peddle the few goods she could, and earn a few mina. Her role in providing left her little time to study. She knew the basics to reading and writing due to her work, but she had never lain eyes on a book. Hearing that those who could write stories earned a higher wage, sparked an idea within Margaret’s mind. If she could learn to read and write, she would make enough to sustain her mother and herself for years to come.
Now it was only a matter of finding the time to learn while maintaining a steady job. By the time Margaret was twenty-one, she would have obtained a job as a barmaid in a cozy tavern near the Cloud Temple. Due to the distance of travel, and wanting to earn as much as she could, she would sleep in the cellar and send what money she earned to her mother, the rest she would keep in a savings jar for emergency use.
Finally on track with her plans, Margaret now searches for a way to learn how to read and write, so that one day she can publish her own books to make enough to sustain her mother and possibly future family.
What are they like (personality)?:
Margaret is a headstrong woman, who does enjoy relaxing once in a while, but while there is work to be done, she will work long and hard, rarely pausing to rest. Due to having grown up without a father and her mother being the sole provider during her childhood, Margaret unconsciously thinks poorly of the opposite gender at first meetings. Life as a peasant has taught her the value of a mina, thus it is rare for Margaret to indulge herself in luxuries.
What are their ambitions?:
To become a writer and earn enough mina to sustain her current and possible future family.
Do they have any special skills?:
Having worked most of her life, Margaret has a decent repertoire of culinary recipes.
What are their weaknesses?:
Due to being headstrong and unwavering in her future plans paired with her lack of education, Margaret does not often see the larger picture or has an eye for fine detail, making it seem as though she is dense, but in reality, she just wants to finally accomplish what she has set her mind to do.
Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?:
Margaret has light brown eyes and tanned skin from working out in the sun most days. Her hair is a chocolate brown and usually kept under a bonnet so it doesn’t get in her eyes as she works. She is not an overly pretty woman, due to not having the time to care for her appearance as those of a higher status, this does not really bother her. She wears typical peasant clothing, which she washes and re-sews whenever they need repairing.
Anything else you want to say about them?:
Nope.
Please give us a screenshot of your character’s skin:
