I've also been roleplaying on minecraft servers for around three years, give or take. Have you been on any other roleplaying servers?: - Indeed, a few. I can give more details about them if need be. How did you hear about us?: - planet minecraft What do you think the server will be like? - Honestly, I don't know. However, taken from the average player count being much higher on average than those I've spent time on in the past, I can only assume you all must be doing something right to keep this many people here. Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - I have and I do. What’s your favourite rule / the rule you agree with the most?: - While at first I was put off by the fact that in order to play a villian you must first go through a seperate application process, I've quickly come to understand and appreciate it's value. Definitions What is roleplaying?: - Role playing is exactly what it says - Playing a role. It means taking on a persona other than your normal self, and behaving as though you are that character. What’s metagaming?: - Metagaming is using outside of character knowledge that the player knows to inform decisions and actions that character makes. Anytime a player has his character take an action because of OOC benefits rather than to benefit the character is another type of metagaming. In a system where characters revive from death, trying to get your character killed instead of jailed because he can simply revive and continue playing faster that way is an example of the second definition. What’s powergaming?: - Powergaming is roleplaying in such a way that you do not allow your character to "lose." Blocking every attack thrown at you in a roleplay combat is one such example. Another definition is also known by the name Godmoding; In this case, the player forces others to take actions. *stabs through the heart with my sword* instead of *stabs toward the heart with my sword* is a small example, as the first line forces the opponent to be stabbed, where the second allows the opponent to respond. In-Character Information What’s your character called?: - William Bartleby Reginald the Third, but everyone calls him Willy B. What race are they (and sub-race)?: - A Southeron Human What sex are they?: - Male How old are they?: - 42. Willy B has forgotten exactly how old he is, and estimates it as "mid-forty" Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family (Include server lore when writing): - Willy B likes to think he's the estranged relative to a line of wealthy nobles in some far off land, but the truth is he's been a street urchin his entire life. Him being related to nobility was a lie he fabricated back in his early days at the orphanage, and due to his deteriorating memory and prolonged use of the lie, eventually Willy came to believe the lie was the truth himself. If WIlly has or had siblings he has long forgotten them, though he likes to tell people different stories of his "family" that are made up usually on the spot. The streets of Kralta are where you can usually find Willy, but if spare change dries up or he thinks up a plan to make better money in another town, he won't hesitate to wander off for a while. However, Kralta will always be his gutter he calls home. He may be seen with other people of the same state as himself. He has an unusual tendancy to have small vagabond groups follow him due to his wild (and almost always terribly faulty) plans to get money, food, and alcohol. What are they like (personality)?: - Willy B likes to think of himself as a clever individual, always coming up with plans to finally make it rich and leave the vagabond lifestyle, but oftentimes his plans are short-sighted or faulty due to his rattled brain. Despite the setbacks, Willy can be somewhat charming, in a loveable tramp sort of way. What are their ambitions?: - To be full of food, and drunk of ale at the same time. A place to call his own is a more long-term goal, which if he ever gets he won't know what to do with. Do they have any special skills?: - Willy B has a special aptitude with the gift of gab - though coming from a homeless peasant this talent generally goes unnoticed or more often wasted. What are their weaknesses?: - He's homeless, he has trouble remembering things, and he has problems fitting into normal society. Give us a description of how they look (not a screenshot yet!)?: - Willy B is a 5'10" human with black hair, though it is starting to grey from age. He wears clothes that other people threw out. His teeth are yellowed, and his face something akin to beaten leather from the years of hard living he's endured. Anything else you want to say about them?: - The inspiration for this character comes from a number of sources, including Everett McGill from Oh Brother Where art Thou, Red Skelton's Freddie the Freeloadaer sketch character, a couple of different "too-clever-for-their-own-good" type characters from various shows, and those grifters that trick tourists out of their money in New Orleans. It's a dark haired male with a goatee and wearing a scruffy looking dark robe. The firewall here is pretty stout, I'm actual surprised I can see this website honestly.
