For most of his life, he did nothing unnatural among his peers, and was considered to be a sturdy, reliable dwarf. Selling a large variety of magical maps to adventurers, his only public irregularity is He drinks heavily until he falls asleep when he's trying to work out a problem, claiming it helps him wake up refreshed. This is yet to be proven. His most interesting trait, however, is his unhealthy obsession with golems. Ever since seeing one as a child, he has secretly been sinking his family gold into his quest to be the first dwarf since Thorik Braveaxe to create life from in inanimate object. He has amassed a large library of objects and books, some fake, some possibly authentic, but all of it relating to golems. Unlike most dwarves, he prefers to puzzle out a problem, not only working out the answer itself, but attempting to discern the methods and thought processes of the other party in an attempt to better understand them. His first major breakthrough was found, ironically, while doing the thing he hates most; selling maps. While inspecting a particularly old map, he discovered that the map had originally belonged to Thorik Braveaxe, one of the dwarves who had created the golem Gray Vigil. Galvanized, he paid a seer an exorbitant amount to try and find Braveaxe's laboratory. After several weeks of searching, he finally possessed a poorly-made representation of what he sought, drawn by the seer. That night, he vowed that he would stop at nothing to accomplish his goal.
