Anar was born in Luminaire, and was the only elf child in the city. As Anar grew up in the city of trees, he became well known in the community. He was know for his obsession with animals. He would spend days on end sitting in the forest watching woodland creatures walk by. Anar loved all animals, but had an unusual fascination with wolves. He would watch the wolves for hours, and he even managed to befriend many. He would often spend more time with the animals than he would with other elves. Not long after he developed his fascination with animals, he became a vegetarian, and would only eat meat in the most dire of situations. Anar also loved shooting his bow, even though he had no use of it. If Anar was not watching animals, he was practicing archery.
Anar had a happy life growing up, however, he decided to leave his home town of Luminaire at the age of 102, so he could explore more of the world and of nature. He left to find new species of animals, and to master archery. He spent many years walking the roads, rarely running into other towns. One day as he was following a pack of wolves, when he saw a lone figure in a coat limping along the road. As Anar watched, he realized the figure was injured and was losing blood quickly, so Anar quickly ran to the figure to assist him. The figure graciously accepted the help, but would not reveal how he got the wound. As Anar was helping, he saw the figure was a female human, and carried many unusual objects. When Anar asked her about the items, he was told that all of them had magical properties and that she was trained in the art of magic. Anar stayed with this woman for many days until her wound was healed, and the entire time he would ask about magic. He soon realized it was complicated and dangerous work, and became slightly interested. After the woman's wound was completely healed, she and Anar went their separate ways, she left without a single thank you. Anar did not regret meeting the woman, as she opened his eyes to the world of magic.
