What do you think the server will be like? - I'm not sure, from what I've seen it looks like it's very open-ended, which I like a lot. Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - Yes. What’s the rule you agree with the most?: - "Consistently depriving another player (or players) of their fun for your own personal gain or amusement, even after receiving appropriate warnings, is punishable if deemed necessary by the moderation teams. This may also be considered harassment. Essentially, don't be a troublesome player that only plays to annoy others or be a nuisance." Definitions These terms are a major part of the server and in a few of our rules. Please define them so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers or check on our wiki, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person! What is roleplaying?: - Roleplaying is essentially the practice of assuming the 'role' of a (usually) fictional character, and acting as they would. In the case of this particular form of roleplay, this is done through the medium of text and a player character. What’s metagaming?: - Metagaming is commonly defined as a player using knowledge that the person he/she is roleplaying wouldn't know. E.g: Knowing someone's name before they've told you because of the label above their character model, or knowing exactly where someone is ingame when you shouldn't. What’s powergaming?: - There are a few definitions for 'powergaming' in roleplay. In some cases it refers to someone creating and tailoring a character purely for the purpose of achieving the best statistical advantage (also known as 'min-maxing).' Alternatively, powergaming could refer to someone who focuses on obtaining powerful loot and abilities over roleplaying. (These people are sometimes referred to as 'munchkins'.) The definition that you're most likely looking for however, refers to someone 'emoting' or roleplaying their character's actions having an immediate effect on another person without giving the other person a chance to respond. This is also referred to as godmoding. This applies mostly in situations that require two or more people to interact with each other. Assuming that a mug of beer is going to cooperate when my character picks it up isn't metagaming, but assuming that the man standing next to me is immediately knocked out when my character smashes the afformentioned mug of beer into his face is metagaming. In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that you follow lore. This is your character's biography. It is also required to include server lore when writing. (Names of towns, major server events, ect. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): - Jeremias was born in a small hamlet outside of Schattenburg, both of his parents farmers by trade. He had a simple yet hardworking upbringing raised in the fields by his father, learning his family's trade. By the time he had reached adulthood, the people of Anthos began to flee into the new realm known as the Fringe. His parents, too stubborn to abandon the fields and lands they'd grown and raised, were swept away by the floods while Jeremias fled with the rest. In the Fringe, he wandered from place to place in the Empire, a wastrel vagabond with nothing to his name but the clothes on his back. He continued this way for more than a few years, picking pockets to keep himself fed, albeit meagerly. His desertion of his parents and his farm haunted him constantly. Come the abrupt transition to Thales, Jeremias took up residence in a refugee camp outside of the Cloud Temple. He pressed on through these hardships, doing what he could to avoid freezing to death, keeping himself fed and eventually reaching Tuv Aviv. Here, he made it to Athera with the rest of the descendents. Who knows what fortunes await him here? What are they like? (personality): - Simple, frugal and humble. Jeremias has never been wealthy, nor had any want for it. His personality tends to be flighty, he changes his mind often and can be swayed. The hardship he suffered after his death of his parents has hardened him to the rougher aspects of life, and he's willing to get into a fight if he needs to. However, he remains a kind natured, hardworking soul at heart. What are their ambitions?: - He has no immediate ambitions beyond getting his next meal, and perhaps having a roof over his head. Creating a farm and a living would be a long-term goal that's brewing in his mind, though he has no idea how he'd go about it. Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): He's strong, tall and hardworking. He's a proficient farmer and has the skill to raise animals and grow crops. Unfortunately not the brightest of individuals, he's certainly not going to become a grand mage or scholar. He's easily convinced and swayed, and has no martial experience beyond getting in a few brawls and being able to handle himself in a fistfight. Give us a description of how they look?: - Short and roughly cropped hair, with generous amounts of stubble. He's tall and well-built, with kind eyes. He doesn't smile often, though when he does he could pass for handsome. He's wearing dirty, homemade clothes.
