  2. Thank you all so much for your great critique. I'm disappointed I won't be able to help you at this time, but maybe if I improve in the future I might reapply with new builds more to the server's standards. Thanks again for your consideration.
  3. Minecraft name: spellchekk Skype ID: shinesley78 Timezone: CST GMT-6 Have you had any bans or strikes? If yes give a link: No Why do you want to be a builder for the ET? I feel like there is a lot of history in the buildings and areas around the server and I would like to help add to that, as an individual player there is only so much I can do, but if I were part of the build team I feel like I could help accomplish more for the server and the event team. What are some of your most treasured builds? (screenshots if possible): Probably the build that I am most proud of was that I created the entire Mzulft Dungeon from Skyrim in Minecraft, on a 1 to 1 scale. I filled it with restone traps and doors, even stocking the chests with loot and making an end game item to get rather than the Elder Scroll. The entire dungeon took about 12 minutes to sprint through, almost 30 if doing the puzzles and fighting the enemies. I put pictures of this in the Ruin Section of this Application. What MMORPG/video games do you play? I enjoy mostly single player games when I am not in Minecraft. I have almost 800 hours logged in skyrim and another 800 in the Fallout series I'm sure. I also play a lot of strategy and builder games such as Civilization, Banished, Sim City, and The Sims. I'm also a huge fan of horror, playing through Amnesia, Dead Space, and Outlast many times. I am also terrible at Hearthstone and Wow in general. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please provide screenshots of any medieval builds strictly you have built and a description of each: http://imgur.com/a/VFSE3#0 Medieval/Roman Style City, which includes a Colosseum, Amphitheater, Bathhouse, Market, and Temple. In this server you will find a banquet hall, a barracks, and a few rooms from some mansions, as well as a few images of some fields that I created and really liked the look of in the end. http://i.imgur.com/WvU8BvI.png Small city built as a base in a single player game. I am very capable of working on a team, and always like to get people's opinions when I'm building. I often do interior or exterior decoration for people who like building the frames of the structures. I am also able to work of blueprints made by another person and follow instructions, but I am capable at building on my own, too. Do you know much about redstone? Yes, I have an understanding of redstone, I have build many door, traps, and contraptions, my favorite being an automatic sorting system in Vanilla Minecraft. I'm also a quick learner when it comes to finding tutorials on subjects and problem solving. I consider redstone to be a lot of fun to work with. How long does it take for you to complete a build? I would say that it could take me anywhere from an hour to a day or two, depending on if I'm building a huge castle by myself or a quick cottage or tower. Most interiors I can get done within a day (1-6 hours), exteriors can be a bit more complicated depending on their span and if I am following a guide from another builder or coming up with the design on my own. But overall, I'm a bit of a workaholic when people are depending on me, so I try to move quick. Tell us how you plan on constructing a large build, a medium build, and a small build. The first thing I do is try to google some inspiration and pull a few images in a folder to refer to from time to time. Then I would go onto a flat world and start playing around with the materials I want to use. I would look at the landscape where it will be and take that into account. I usually prefer to work with the land than to flatten it and rebuilt it, unless absolutely necessary. Sometimes at this point I'll make some sketches, or I'll begin playing with foundations, figuring out where all the pieces will go, and try to come up with a dramatic feature, like a grand entrance or an ancient tree. I then build up the walls and floors, then go back and add detail, crenelations or ornamental towers, followed by the decorations such as foliage and interior designs like tables, chairs, and etc. At this point it's just final touches. This stratagy doesn't really change based on the size of the build, but it certainly goes super quick if its small and might take a little while if it is large, with more tests and drawings and experimenting. Additional details (Do you know how to Voxel? World Edit? Craftbook? Etc...): I have only really built in vanilla without outside plugins, but it's something I wouldn't mind looking into working with. Tell me a trick about building (eg: floating torches, custom heads) Stained glass is not just for fancy buildings, black or gray stained glass can look really good on windows that might be stained by soot from fires or cheaper buildings that can't afford pure glass, and yellow and orange windows are great for taverns or bars that want a warm atmosphere and a little discoloration. Mixing color and plain windows are great for shops a well, to make them stand out. If you use ice as a floor, you can build a copy of the room above underneath it to create a reflection, making the floor look super shiny and polished. Tell me what you want from the ET. I would like to have variety in my builds, and I would like for my builds to have a purpose. Building on my own in single player I tend to stick to the style I know, but I would love more challenges to build things in all kinds of different styles. Building stuff on my own in single player is fun, but I always want to hear people's opinions on what I could do to make something better or more refined. All I would ask is that I get an opportunity to work with you all and to help tell stories by creating a unique and interesting backgrounds for characters to explore and enjoy. Thanks for your time!
  4. Thank you for that link! I wish I would have found it sooner! Oh I didn't know those were free I thought they belonged to the blacksmith that's my bad! I talked to potato, I love mountains of tasks! The chests are not a problem per se, its mostly a matter of neatness (I know I know, Orcs =/= neatness) for the city, so we can put things there that add to the appearance of the goi and limit confusion on what they are and why they are there for new players. But that is just an opinion, not something that is necessary to get rid of. Thanks for your reply's everyone!

  6. Hey guys, I just wanted to make a few quick comments about the Orcs and some of the things that I love and some of the things that I've had trouble with since joining! First off, I just want to say that RPing with the Orcs has been so much fun, you all are a hilarious bunch and have been really helpful and patient with me while I try to wrap my head around the lore and the rules of the server. I'm really having a good time with the culture and I plan on sticking around for a long time. However, I do want to point out some things that were confusing to me as a new player: The Blah: This amazing and insane way of speech is one of the most fun parts of being an Orc and its great! The only thing about it is I wish the wiki made the language a little more accessible to new players. It is relatively easy to pick things up as you go, but by just adding a few of the main spiritz names (which I am still trying to figure out, but maybe I just need to do some more reading), common Orcish phrases, and uncommon words would have been loads of help for me to really jump into the Orc Culture with confidence. Economy: This isn't really a problem, and might just be because of not everyone being on at the same times, but I'm finding that buying, selling, and trading items is a rather hard thing to do. For instance I needed and Iron Ax, but I could not find anyone or any iron (even if I had found some I wouldn't have taken it, that would probably have been stealing.) So I went mining and made an ax. That is mostly me still stuck in my Minecraft Everyone-Can-Do-Everything Mode, but I think if was more clear with who is buying this and who is selling that it could get a lot better to erase this frame of mind. I almost wish there were either more market stalls, shops, carts, dropoffs, or signs pointing to individuals to buy/sell things or a way to leave requests in character to people to ask them to make you stuff, which leads me into my next point. Jobs: I'm aware there there is a bit of a census going on with Hu-din but I think that is for something else. I wish there was like a want add for jobs that are needed around that Orcish lands. That would help a ton in giving newbies something to do. At the moment I have heard that there are a ton of cooks, which I didn't know when I created my character who wanted to be a cook. If I had had an idea of what professions we needed, I might have just altered a bit to make my character creation to more interested in a different area and try to fill out what the Orc's need to get better. That's not to say that I want a list of LAT KAN UNLY DU DEEZ JOBZ, but just a guideline maybe to help players that do not have a preference on what they do for a profession. Building: This one is more of a personal note, but I love building, especially doing detail work like interior and exterior decoration. I would like to see a topic maybe about ideas for what needs to be built/repaired/improved for the city and what resources they need. Maybe even a map of the stronghold with marks on it where new things should go or where work needs to be done. I say this because I would love to help improve the city, but I am terrified of building in the wrong place or tearing something wrong down or altering something in a wrong way, or if I need to ask before I build or what. There doesn't need to be boss in charge of it or anything, but a discussion would be nice to help us move forward. Organization: Orcs are not thought of as an organized race, I know that and I love that, but speaking as a new player to a city on a minecraft server, I wish there was just a little more of it when it comes to materials. There are tons of unmarked locked chests everywhere that I can't tell what they are. Are they personal? Are they for building? If they are for building can I use them or do I need to go mining for my own materials? If I do need to go gathering gravel or sand or sandstone where do I go? We have the storage in the Furt which looks to be our main storage (which perhaps we can make a tunnel to to stop people from just leaping off the cliff?) but there are also storage in all the buildings/workshop which I can't tell if they are public or personal or whatnot. I would simply put out the idea of maybe a main storage in the barracks, taking an inventory of the chests in the shops, and maybe temporary building site storage where construction is going on. If people don't want chests in their homes maybe dig caverns into the cliff and make vaults (maybe the Goblins can run them :P). PVP: There are quite a few guides about RP PVP and PVP on the main forums, but I'm wondering if there has ever been a PVP for Orcs which includes Orcish raiding tactics, how capturing and controlling a snaga works, searching hostages, advantages and disadvantages to Orcish RP combat, and etc. Raiding was one of the more complicated things that I had to figure out ,especially for a new player who is new to the whole server, but its such an intricate part of Orc culture that I would think there would be more help to the new people trying to master it. Also maybe a updated HOW TU URUK, for new players, including who to talk to about getting a Blarg and etc. Overall you all are great, and I hope that I was able to make a few points in my rambling that you might take to heart. I'm not wanting to put any unwanted work on anyone, and these are simply my opinions and If I'm doing things wrong or not understanding please let me know. Luv spellchekk (Durzol'Dom)

  8. Hello, I'm new to the server, actually just started playing about 2 hours ago, but I'm having an issue with the server kicking me after about 60 seconds even if I am standing still, and there is a ton of lag when I can get on between errors despite having a good internet ping. This only started happening around 7:30 Central Time, the time before that was just fine and lag free. The error says: I'm unsure if this is a problem on my end or not, I've never had this error pop up before. Thank you for your time, I would really like to play and I hope this can be fixed or can resolve itself somehow.

So when you die you must wait 30 minute before returning to your death location? I'm making sure I understand that right. How did you find out about Lord of the Craft? In-Character Information Character’s name: Durzol'Ghrodurr Character’s gender: Female Character’s race: Orc (Uruks) Character’s age: 18 Biography: Durzol, her mother, and a handful of other Orcs were the last remaining survivors after a raid by an Undead horde while camping near the West End of the Eruthos Canyon, near the Northern Mountains. Her father was shameful and a coward, running from the fight and taking cover further into the canyon, leaving his wife and child to fend for themselves during the raid. However Durzol's mother was strong and Durzol at 12 had already been in her fair share of fights, and the two of them were able to make it through the battle with only minor injury. Durzol flailed a large butcher's ax used to slaughter livestock, and managed to slay her first undead as she brough the blade down, nearly splitting the shambling figure in two. After the battle was over and the dust had finally settled, Durzol's father returned and spoke lies and excuses about his absence to the remnants of the clan that stood before him. Durzol's mother, who detested liars above all else, brought down a mace into his skull, killing him instantly. With so few members left, the clan disbanded, and the mother and daughter were forced to seek out a new group. This search continued, hopping from clan to clan, over harsh deserts and rocky plains, throughout Durzol's childhood. Durzol's mother was untrusting and bitter towards the other Orc clans for reasons unknown to Durzol, remaining nomadic, only joining groups for short periods of time before taking her and moving on. They pasted through the Murg and the Yar, briefly with the Sandru, and even more briefly with the Azog. There was no clan for them to call family, but Durzol, rather than becoming cynical like her mother, held on to hope that she would one day find a place she belonged, in a great tribe where the warriors were brave and the people were true. Staying in places for short periods of time meant Durzol was used to new orcs coming and going from her life, but the longing for a sense of community was always in her, so she set her goal to master the creation of the second most important thing to Orcs after battle, which is food. Providing filling food to her brothers and sisters so that they could fight stronger and longer made her feel like she belonged, so she wields her butcher's ax with pride as she ladles her various stews and pies to the mess halls, daring someone to make a comment about the weird green stuff floating on top or the fact that the ladle seems to made out of some kind of femur bone. Eventually, Durzol's mother died fighting a group of bandits on the Stone Road while the two of them were traveling to a new clan. Durzol was just able to kill the bandits, but it was too late and she was left on her own to find a new clan and a new family, and end the isolated life style in which her mother had raised her. She has heard of a remaining clans, including the Dom, Grokil, Lur, and others, and plans to travel and find one that will allow her to join.
