How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: I went searching for a decent role-play server and Google sent me here (by the way this server looks like a load of fun to role-play on)

What is roleplaying?: Where you create a character and then interact with other characters in a virtual world, creating a collective story and even in some cases another made up world (or even universe) the possibilities are almost endless.
What is metagaming?: Making your character know information they'd never have known in the first place and then using said information in role-play.
What is powergaming?:Taking control of other players without permission, making other players far weaker then they are, making a Mary Sue/Gary Stu (perfect or ideal) character, not allowing other players to input or even defend themselves and doing things that are completely ridiculous
for example: Player1: fires arrow at Player2. Player2: slices arrow in half and throws sword at Player1 making him fall over and hit his head on a rock.

Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.):
Derin's life began as an infant born to a widowed mother in the Highlander communities of Thales. He never really knew his father, but his mother had told of him not being as tough or burly as the other Highland men but his mother told him she still loved him regardless.
Derin's father lost his life in the great war of Thales not long after he enlisted in the Imperial Army of Oren. His's mother knew that his father wouldn't have stood a chance on the battlefield but he insisted on enlisting so that he could prove to the other highland men that he was just a brave and hardy as they. He often has a recurring flashback of him watching his mother open the door only to be greeted by two officers with grim looks on their faces and then burst into tears.
Derin (now three years old*) and his his mother (in her late twenties*) had to join the escape from Thales to avoid the winter. His new home would be Athera. Derin never felt comfortable calling Thales his homeland as he hadn't lived there for very much of his life.
He being twelve* and his mother forty* lived in Vanderfell, this was his mother's choice as it reminded her of the Highlander town in Thales. Over the years Derin had become quite accustomed to the wilderness as he hunted and fished, following in the footsteps of the Highlander men and had made acquaintance with some of them.
Derin set of on a journey at the age of eighteen*. He told his mother he was going to find a job and start a new life in the capital city of Petrus but he lied, he never knew how to get anywhere in life and unfortunately took the path of an outlaw. He often roamed the countryside robbing everyone from traders to other bandits but later became a wandering swordsman as he realized what he was doing was wrong. As he wanders he often helps those in danger or are in need of his services. He is sometimes found at an inn or tavern drinking away his sorrows*, but sometimes people can occasionally run into him on his travels.
*Every time and age is mentioned it is in human years
*He is depressed about being alone and about the fact he had no father growing up (although he doesn't show it) <-- Bottled up emotions
Personality Traits: He is quite mysterious and reserved in the fact that he doesn't talk much but when he does he says very little, on the contrary he often becomes more friendly to those of which he can share a decent conversation with (and of course just the right amount of ale is also involved in the friendliness). He also has a lot of bottled up emotions which is a large hindrance to his will to live due to the amount of time he spends alone. Unusually he prefers to avoid a fight.
Ambitions: He wishes to forget his past and find a solid reason to live as he often ponders whether he should continue with his life.
Strengths/Talents: He is an adept swordsman and knows his way around a blade. Due to his experience of having to watch his back for most of his life (being an outlaw and all) he is also quite alert to what is happening around him.
Weaknesses/Inabilities: He is only Human (and therefore makes mistakes) he is also quite stubborn, he can only use blades and like his father he isn't burly or strong enough to haul another man over his head but he is strong enough to make a severe wound with a sword, he prefers to do things peacefully so naturally in pinch he will chose the solution that stirs the least conflict.
Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): He is slightly taller than average (177cm or 5ft 10in) and weighs 70kg (which converts to around 154ib) he wears a blue suede jacket (which he stole) over a white shirt (which he did not steal). He wears black trousers with brown boots. He also wears two rawhide gloves with metal buckles as the gloves were lazily put together (by Derin himself) and needed some fastening and last but not least he has a scabbard strapped to his back
