Now, first, I have no idea if this is the place to put this, but it says off-topic, so, good enough..
Okay, so, while walking back from dollar tree, the place where everything not edible is made of either plastic, cardboard, or paper, and everything edible is made of either plastic, cardboard, or paper. And, during my stroll, I was thinking about all the types of roleplay and how they all have their layers to depth and character development; almost like a novel has pages to develop the heroes and the villains. I thought of pen and paper, table top, figurine, note pad, note pass, IRC, forum, mmorpg, and so on and so forth. All had the way for a story to unfold, but the story, inevitably unpredictable; no matter how badly the gm, admin, god, or grand overlord zulu wants it to be otherwise.
The tale could be of horror but turn up with survival to hope. A tale of fantasy to advenure and dragons. Or just pixie paladins; watch those ankles. You could be in space taking down an evil empire along side the plebe rebellion, or crushing the rebellion for the promise of coin, only to find that the choices were to lead to an inevitable end of everything was a farce and all of you were the same and yet nonexistent. Or, you could be in space, on an ice planet, hired to do really dangerous R&D only to find that everything is named Dire. Dire Wolves, Dire Bears, Dire Dear, Dire Ticks, Dire Bunnies, Dire Rhinocerouses... why would there be Dire Rhinocerouses in Dire snow... for Helix Fossil's Sake?! Oh, and don't forget the flesh Eating Dire ticks.
And then you find that the locker that produced the endless amounts of space duct tape to repair your portable lab ATV was actually a portal to the Duct Tape Kingdom where you meet all the characters from Red vs Blue (before Season 11) and have to race them to find the Golden Duct Tape, the holy treasure of the Duct Tape KIngdom that let's all of the Duct Tape People communicate with their Deity, The Helix Tape. But, while you are getting shot at by Caboose with a rail gun, who keeps missing, and ends up hitting Griff instead, while getting in a fist fight with Sarge, your sociopathic and psycopathic friend who isn't high functioning keeps killing every last of the duct tape people. You somehow get the Golden Duct Tape, the Helix Tape tells you the secret of the universe: Duct fixes everything except electrical stuff. you need electrical tape for that. Then you leave back to the Dire Ice planet only to find that your ATV was rammed by a dire bear, launched into a DIre Iceberg, which was used as a Dire ramp, and then landed perfectly with a Dire Olympic Score of 11.
Your friend was never questioned as to why he was covered in adhesive glue that smelled oddly like blood. The space station residents just took it as a normal occurrence.
So, yeah. Roleplay is the occurence where one can develop a character with other characters in a world like others, or not like any other just for the fun of it. <- Best definition ever. Anything else you just read is pure shite.
By the way, Rooster Teeth, if you read this, I don't care. Sue me. Bite me. Kiss my shiny metal arse I like RWBY a whole lot better, anyways.
