Looking at the feedback now; given that there's a lot of negative (is negative the right term here? Bad? Non-agreeing) feedback on the purge and the ET director in question, clearly there is something wrong with what was written and it should more than likely be addressed, and likely adjusted. It shouldn't be left to gather dust, or pushed under the rung and left unnoticed at all.

This probably wasn't the wisest of moves to take, Squirt. I just do wonder if you will take the responses of those who posted into consideration.

Do you feel that you have a solid grasp on our lore and an understanding of the application standards?:
Yep! Having been on the team already, I feel that I am more than familiar with the lore, and as well as how to aproach and review applications.

Why do you want to be an AT member and do you have the ability to work and collaborate with others?:
To start off with, really the only reason I left the team was time constraints. Coming back, I feel that I have way much more time on my hands to review apps and flesh out player-retention. Now, player-retention can be an abstract topic, but I would like to continue my work towards achieving those magical new player numbers. As for other team members, I have no problem working with other people, and would actually prefer it in terms of projects.

Beyond reviewing whitelist applications, what ways do you think you would enjoy helping new applicants?:

I helped Rella maintain the basis for the New Player Discord, but I'd like to take a different approach. I feel that having interesting events happen at CT regularly would be a fun, and exciting thing to do with new players.

How do you think the server’s application process could be improved?:

While I was AT, I saw that the application process was getting easier. Now, while this'll get more players in, I feel like it's not as effective, as they aren't learning those core aspects. I feel like the process should be a little stricter, and that you guys should experiment with different levels of strict going forward.

Is there anything else you would like to add or that we should know about you?:

I do have work still, which kinda pulls back from time, but not as much as before. I also have some personal stuff going on which I can talk about in PMs. Other than that, thanks for reading!

Summarize the Lore of this magic(s):

Given to Aeriel's Wardens in the times of Axios by Aeriel, the Archaengul, herself, the holy flame was used to keep the Souls of the descendants clear of any taint put upon them.  The flame would be used to rid of any creatures or personal who had such a deformed soul. Today, it is used similarly.  The flame is passes onto Agents who are deemed worthy by the Order of the Mongoose. These selected candidates are then put through an Ascension ritual in which the agent must temporarily die, allowing their soul to pass onto the Soulstream, in order to be judged in full by the Archaengul. If Aeriel deems them worthy, their soul is bound with an Aerielian flame. There are 3 types of flame which the candidate can receive from Aeriel. Ruin, Rapture, and Demi.  Each flame has different capabilities, and carry varying amounts of power. After the candidate receives their flame, their soul is returned to the living world, unscathed and imbued with the holy flame. This flame, the protection of their soul, can be projected forth as a flame, or Soulfire. It can also be projected as an Ember, used in weapon and brazier infusions. Their fortification can also be used to heal wounds, upon which the Ascended will take a wound upon himself, of a lesser degree.

Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student:

Dwalin takes a seat, setting his cane beside him. He looks across to his already connected student, licking his lips before speaking.

"Yehr flame is apart ov yeh. Et es entertwined wiff yeh." He'd examine his student, looking for any hint of a reaction.

They nod slowly, starting to gaze off around the room, waiting out the silence.

"Et can beh projected forth into dis world en da form ov Soulfire." Dwalin said, before rasply coughing "Bah. Yeh shou'd know d'is already."

The student would nod once more "Yes, from your lessons."

Dwalin nods in confirmation "Alroight, suh. Le's duh et." He'd remove his hands from his lap, placing his golemic hand out in front of him.

He closes his eyes for a brief second. "Befor' yeh summon yehr flame, yeh mus' gain ah complete concentration. Focus on yehr self, yehr core... Yehr flame."

Dwalin takes a deep breathe, and as he exhales, he opens his eyes. "Control yehr breathin'. Startin' off, yehr breath will leave yeh vereh quickly ef yeh donnae conserve it."

"W'en yehr breathin' is controlled, yeh mus' feel da warmth of da flame upon yehr hand. Imagine all of da powah of yehr soul bein' concentrated ontuh yehr 'and."

Dwalin the abruptly snaps his fingers together, unveiling a persimmon colored flame dancing around in his palm.

The student looks on in astonishment. They had seen Soulfire before, but it was just as beautiful every time.

"Alright.. Breathe and Summon. Got it.", says the student.

The student closes his eyes, his hands becoming less tense as he lays them in front of him.

They start to breath in, and as they exhale an exasperated breath, a small, persimmon colored ember begins to sparkle in his palm.

They open their eyes, the same look of astonishment plastering their face. However, the exhaustion begins to catch up to them, sweat rolling down their cheeks.

Dwalin smiles under his beard, looking up at the student "Vereh good! As yeh get betteh at et, yeh'll beh able to cast et fasteh, an' wiff less sweat, ov course."

The student does not respond. Their face turns red, and abruptly, their ember dissipates. The begin to catch their breath, looking back at Dwalin with an excited, yet exasperated face.

Typical feedback post. The deflection of constructive criticism that wasn't written by you, which then devolves into insults, a locked post, and then a later post screeching about the Staff not taking feedback.

The Ascended weren't nerfed. We were balanced.

One thing I can say about Cordial is that when he puts effort into his work, he does an amazing job and can achieve a ton. He's also a really great person and would do well handling players in a moderation setting. My only concern is that he very recently left my team due to time constraints in his real life, which leaves me questioning why he would so quickly apply to another team. I wrote this post knowing that this team would be reviewing apps most likely in the coming weeks, which my school life will have calmed a bit by then, as big papers would have been done and such. These next weeks, and maybe even next month will be crazy for me, and I meant no disrespect leaving the AT. Just I felt that having those crazy weeks, I wouldn't be able to do work on AT, and with such that small of team at the time, I wasn't gonna weigh you guys down. When this gets looked at in the coming weeks, life will have flattened out. Thanks for the feedback and concern, V! :)

Have you been previously banned (be it a forum or server ban) and under what circumstances did you receive this ban?: Nope, I've never been banned!

Have you ever received warning points and what actions were committed to receive such points?: Nope! No points.

Moderating the forums is a very time dependant staff position. How much time, on average, would you be able to dedicate to moderating?: As of recently, on weekdays, except Tuesday,  I can put forward about 3 hours moderating. On Tuesdays, I can put at most an hour or two. On weekends, I imagine I can put forward about 4-6 hours moderating.

What experience do you have using the LotC forums or any forum in general?: I browse the forums daily, mostly just meandering about. But I'm comfortable with using and browsing the entirety of the forums.

What does it mean to be a Forum Moderator, in your own words? What responsibilities does the Forum Moderator have to carry out  in order to successfully do their job?:  To be a Forum Moderator is to be a mediator, mitigating and smoothing out conflicts on the forums, and having the forums be a good environment to base LoTC on. Responsibility wise, Forum Moderators have to make sure that posts are organized, and clean for the roleplaying environment. They also have to mitigate player-based conflicts.

Have you ever held a staff position here on LotC? Do you currently hold any other staff positions? If so, list them and highlight something about the team that you enjoyed/enjoy.: I was on the Application Team for about 5-6 months-ish. I enjoyed being able to work with new people in general. New players to the server, and new people that I met on the team. I liked conversing with the playerbase, new and old.

Why should you be a Forum Moderator? What can you bring forward to the team that allows you to moderate and enforce the conduct of the forums?: I am a very easy-going guy, but not to the point where stuff flies over my head. I am also very patient, able to conform to anybody's needs, within reason of course. I also have a pretty good idea of the standards put forth on the forums, and how they should be moderated.

What characteristics do you posses that makes you stand out from any other applicant?: As I said, I am very patient. I also enjoy working with people, and conversing with people that I'm not quite familiar with. This will help me moderate by allowing me to hear sides to things, and be able to decide proper ways to proceed with things.

Are there members of the current Forum Moderation Team that you do not get along with or see a problem with working with in the future? If so, what is it that could hinder your ability to work together. Remember, this is a team and working together is the main foundation of a team.: I don't have problems with anybody on the team. As far as problems go, the one I see is my fluctuating schedule, with school and all. However, I feel as though my schedule will stable enough in the coming weeks to work on a moderation team such as this one.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?:

Soul Steal Anti-Magic

Summarize the Lore of this magic(s):

Fi’hiiran’tanya is an Anti-Magic which was developed by the Elibar’acals. It was created in spite of, in their eyes, the misuse of magics by the Elven people. The magic requires a subjugated soul, or in some cases, a split soul. The subjugated soul is taken from a victim (willing to perform a perma kill) by the teacher of the magic during the ritual by which the teacher surrounds the soul in mist, and forces it into the body of the student. This victim does not have to have a close relation with the student, but is occurrent in High Elven culture. In this case, only Ascended can harm Soul Stealers. Magical Creatures are all affected differently by Fi’ Magic. For example, a wraith would be affected differently than a Keeper would be.

The soul split, however, requires the teacher to take the students soul, and split it into two. The splitting causes the student to be physically stronger than those which have the use of subjugated soul, but it will require more time to cast and can only reach T4. In this case, any holy magic can hurt them due to their soul being noted as undead.

When casted upon with Fi magic, the user requires the stolen soul to force the opponent’s mana into the void. It can also be used to block deific or dark entities, thus cutting off use to that magic. However, the subjugated soul would be resistant to the caster, and would cause the caster to have mentally straining effects. As the Fi’ Mage increases in tier, their ability to suppress such effects would become stronger. While increasing in tiers, the Fi’ Mage is as effective to a mage that is up to 1 tier above you. 2 tiers above you would only soften said magic, but you would not be able to block it, and with 3 tiers, you would be ineffective against said mage, not being able to do anything to them. They would be weaker than a void mage of their tier. As a tier 5, the Fi’ Mage would be as weak as a journeyman necromancer. The farther you cast Fi’, the less effective it is.

Placing a Fi’ barrier requires the subjugated or split soul, and the caster has to be at least tier 2. The barrier blocks or breaks all enchantments, and stops all magic to a tier that is at most 1 above the caster’s tier. When T5, there is no set limit to what you can block with the barrier, but is best not to powergame. A barrier is also required when silencing a victim. Silencing requires two horns. One is forced into the head, and one into the heart. The horns allow mist to entangle around the soul, releasing the body of its mana and blocking the victim from using their mana pool for a set time. You can do this for a week forcibly (more if agreed upon OOC’ly). It can not be reversed and must be waited out.

Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student:

Virion walks into the rather dingy room, looking around for his student. Spotting him/her, he straightens his posture, and gives them a curt nod. “Summon your mist.”

The student returns with a nod, and their ear’s lightly twitch afterwards. They twirl their fingers, revealing a light mist betwixt them. They smile lightly as they watch it appear, looking back up to Virion

Virion folds his arms across his chest, pursing his lips. He steps back just a tad, drooping in his posture as he does. “Now, expand it. Grow it outwards, as if you are casting on another mage.” His eyes stare down his student, watching them intently.

“O-Ok..” The student says, furrowing their brows. They shoot their eyes down to their mist, gritting their teeth lightly. The mist would begin to ball up, and expanding by a few feet (1 meter). A bead of sweat drips from their forehead as they look back to Virion

“Good. More.” He’d say blankly, keeping his stone gaze fixed on their mist.

The student returns to their mist, hesitantly. They would grit their teeth every-slightly harder, as their mist expands once more upon its shape. (1 meter).

Almost as quickly as they grew their mist, Virion says blankly “More.”

The student looks back down, sweat blanketing their forehead. A few tears would be shed as well, as their shaped mist expands once more. (1 meter).

Virion smirks, moving his hands to behind his back from his chest. “Again.” He’d say, the smirk forming into a sly grin

The student gasps for a breath as their hands retract from the shaped mist, it dissipating as they do so. They fall to their knees, a brief shudder washing over them.

“3 meters. Not terribly bad, but we can only improve from here.” He’d move towards the student, standing over them as he removes his gaze from them and beginning to look around the room “When I leave, and while you are alone, you must cast more, and more. Before I return to you, you must be able to expand it at least 4 meters. Once you can do that, then we move onto shielding yourself.”

The student nods slowly as they keep their gaze fixed on the ground beneath their knees, still recovering from the previous endeavor.

“You know why I push you, right?” He’d ask, returning his gaze to the student

The student stands slowly, their gaze meeting his. The student shakes their head, biting their lip lightly

“Well. It is so that you can only improve, and be able to better control your mist. As well as to better control that new soul of yours.” He’d smile lightly upon the student, turning to leave. He stops in the doorway, saying back into the room “Remember. 4 meters.”
