What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is taking a character and acting as someone new or different, to become a character.
What is metagaming?: Metagaming is the use of information that the "in real life" player is aware of but the in game character wouldn't be. Like for example (completely hypothetical) if Orcs were allergic to pumpkin pie, the player may not eat the pie but the character would because he wouldn't know)
What is powergaming?: Powergaming is forcing an RP action and not giving enough time for the other person to commit or add to or negate the action. For instance if I stabbed John, and then continued Rp'yl John is stabbed and he cant change it because in RP it already happened.

Biography: One a clear blue afternoon Vandur began to speak with a merchant regarding the merchants past. Being a fellow dark elf it was easy to find similarities between the two. Once the merchant stopped Vendur began his tale.
I rarely ever find a home, a sense of belonging to anything but my own vanity and philosophic complexion. My father, Karinah, was a great warrior in the Div’Cruan fighting many battles gloriously and then if by fate he was taken by Khovad’s grip and separated from the main army. He was left alone to die in a foreign land and was left aside by the many he once called enemies. If it was not for the sake of one brave woman he would have never risen again. She secretly took him in and cared to his illness and quickly fell in love. By the year 1465 they were married and were struggling to survive in the new harsh environment that was at hand. At long last they moved to Thales with a sense of pride of being some of the few survivors of a hellish world. 5 years later, 1470 I was born in Athera only to be chased from nation to nation along with my family. My mother died in by the year 1480 at the age of 82. This is when my father decided he had enough and stood his ground to the human purists.
He taught me everything I know from the art of warfare to our proud traditions and history. I still to this day remember his tales of the great Khel Oussana and his predecessors. We peacefully traded goods near Petrus becoming renowned for his ancient artifacts from the fringe and beyond he was sought out by many. It was during this time that I learned many of the newer languages deviating from the Ancient elfish my father taught me. However with his fame came his downfall as the only place I can ever call home burnt down by a band of human purists. My father fought long and his last request that he made of me was to, “run.” I returned a year later to find that my father was executed for the murder of one of those who attacked us. But before I was able to properly berry him I was chased, just like my family before. I now search for equality among races, a challenge that has not yet been met. I have a distinct hatred of the human race for they have taken all that I once cherished. All I can do now is take my father’s teachings and continue on."
