What is roleplaying?: As a DM of several D&D games, my understanding of roleplaying is that is the act of "playing out a role." such as that of a Elf, Orc, or a Dwarf and acting how that character would in a given circumstance. What is metagaming?: The act of using knowledge that your character would not possess to give yourself an advantage. What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: The act of recognizing that things are beyond what your character can do but trying to cheat your way into making the character capable of doing it anyway. In-Character Information Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Talvin is a wanderer, but a soldier at heart who was born to a settlement now long gone. He was once a commander of the Dark Elven Military within the now abandoned city and travels the realm in search of peaceful existence among his pears. His past sins still linger in his mind, resulting in many sleepless nights. He finds the rush of battle to be the only cure for his worries and woes, resulting in the head strong Mali'ker finding himself in many hairy situations. Duelist and swordsman alike, he seeks to master his craft either by practice or trail of combat. He harbors a strong dislike for all things arcane, feeling it grants an unfair advantage; he see's all who use it in combat as dishonorable or craven and does not hesitate to let this fact be known no matter the situation. In spite of this his mother was a mage, a source of resentment and bother to this day. Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Talvin likes Fair fights, swordplay, cats, winning, and money. He dislikes unfair fights, magic, snakes, losing, and sodomy. Talvin is arrogant, sexist, and vile; but survives by merit of his silver tongue. Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) To be a military commander once more and a renowned swordsman in his own right. Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Talvin moves with unearthly grace, and is surprisingly strong and resilient for an Elf. Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Talvin is headstrong, arrogant and untrustworthy. Despite his charisma people are often left questioning his motives and integrity. Character’s name: Graggorg Character’s gender: Male Character’s race: Orc Character’s age: 36 Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): Do This Personality Traits: Graggorg is a naturally dominant and easy to anger Orc, he often finds himself in fights over self-perceived slights to his strength or honor, despite parties having no interest in offending. Ambitions: Graggorg desires to subjugate the world to his own devices, wreaking havoc across the world of Athera in the form of flame and war through the united strength of the Orcish clans- some would say he desires to become the Lord of the Craft. Strengths/Talents: Graggorg’s strength lies in his strength. He lifts big rocks and headbutts big trees. He’s a tough orc through and through. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Graggorg focuses less on protecting himself in a fight and more on damaging his enemies, often sustaining injuries due to his lack of focus. He compensates for this by wearing heavy steel armorings, but moves significantly slower due to them; causing his retreats to be both clumsy and death-inducing.
