How did you find out about Lord of the Craft? Google :) I've been searching for a good RP server when a friend and I decided to play Minecraft again after a long time, and this one was the best one I read about.
Definitions
What is roleplaying?: Adding a story and background to a character, and sticking with it while you play the game. Your interactions and looks should all revolve according the role you've decided to play.
What is metagaming?: When a character acts on knowledge he couldn't have realistically obtained in the game. If, for example, someone whispers me that they're going to attack someone and I tell the victim without a believable reason (for my character) to do so.
What is powergaming?: When someone abuses game mechanics and does not respect the roleplay. For example, a player tries to capture someone in order to make the other one a slave. The other player insists on getting free, but they do so in an unrealistic way, or the enslaver keeps trying to force the situation on the other player.
In-Character Information

Biography:
Daeris was born in Normandor, daughter to an aspiring druid named Tirnel. She is said to be the bastard daughter of a High Elven Prince. However, no one knows who her father is, so she took her mother's name and made it her surname. Her mother kept her father's identity a secret all her life, and it died with her when she disappeared during the flood of Anthos. Daeris had never been close to her mother, so she barely mourned her. If anything, she was glad to be free of the past. She barely remembers Asulon, and hated her life in Anthos. She spent most of her life wandering from place to place, foraging for food and learning how to survive on her own. A wood elf named Axandrios taught her how to use the bow and arrow, and she became an expert marksman, even though she refuses to kill animals unless she has to.
When Athera was settled, she moved to the forests of Adrallan and lived a secluded life there until she returned from foraging and found her house destroyed. Left with nothing, she decided to move closer to Cerulin to try to start again. She never believed in most of the Druid's teachings, and despised the High Elves for treating her as an inferior, even though she was visibly a half High Elf. Growing up without spiritual beliefs, Daeris only believes in Daeris and her own ability to survive in a world that hasn't been kind to her. She cares more for animals and tress than for mortals, and makes it her life's mission to protect them from undue harm. She stays out of politics and wars between mortals for that same reason. She has always been attracted to books, and fondly remembers some from her childhood, but her nomadic lifestyle has always prevented her from acquiring and keeping any. When her house was destroyed, she could have rebuilt it, but she saw it as a sign to move on. During her journey to Cerulin, Daeris fell from her horse and was forced to camp for a few days until her ankle recovered. There she met a Mountain Dwarf whom she befriended. At first, she was wary of him, but she was never one to care much about appearances or societal standards. He helped her recover and he has been her friend ever since.
Personality Traits: She is somewhat cold to strangers, prefers to keep to herself. She's stubborn and easily annoyed, but reluctantly helps others when she sees they're in need. She has never depended on men for anything, so she's fixed on showing she can be better than any man in anything she does.
Ambitions: To rebuild her life and learn more about the world she has been ignoring her whole life, to settle down and build a big house where she can keep all her animals.
Strengths/Talents: Shooting with a bow and arrow, climbing trees, healing animals. She's also very fast with light swords. She's nimble and fast, but has a weak ankle. She's a great monster hunter. She has recently started to write more, and she's slowly realizing she's actually quite good at it. She's a good builder.
Weaknesses/Inabilities: Stubbornness, mining, her ankle, and an inability to hide her dislike towards people, even if it means being uncivil or unpolite. Singing, cooking and any other type of craft involving small things. She's a little arrogant when she feels defied. She's selfish, but makes exceptions for mortals whom she thinks deserve help. Sometimes.
Appearance: Daeris has dark red hair, which she keeps long because she's too lazy to cut it even if she finds it mildly annoying while fighting monsters. Her skin is a lot fairer than that of most Wood Elves, which she credits to her alleged High Elf lineage. Her eyes are light blue. She's also taller than most Wood Elves.
