A grin spreads on Julian Argansi's face, but he is unable to overcome the urge and bursts into laughter when he looks down upon the scene from the Seven Skies. "Roswell could not even inspire the respect of the Larians when he asked them to train under him, what makes the Emperor think that he will be able to manage an entire Duchy?" he says shaking his head continuing to laugh.

Lord Roswell recalls what happened to the Larians as a consequence of the lack of training. They could not even save their own Lord from having his head removed in the middle of his own hold.

The flags in Istria’s fiefs had been lowered to half mast. The news of young Philip de Sola’s death had swept across the land like a plague. Though it was not only Lord de Sola that the men mourned, but also Lord Philip de Capua. Both men had a greatness about them. Traces of the late and great Titus ‘the Bloody de Sola left within them. The last Istrian noble, Arthur Roswell, gathered his belongings before departing to Dour Watch to prepare for the funeral. 

As the guests piled into the keep to attend the service there were no voices; only a deep pain in the atmosphere. It was clear that many had been moved by the deaths of Lord de Sola, and Lord de Capua alike. Emperor John, the kinsman of the late Philip de Sola attended the ceremony with his entourage, all deeply saddened by young Philip’s brutal death. Lord de Sola had been a man of only seventeen when Rendon Vimmark plunged his blade into him, draining the life from him in front of his cousin de Capua. A great search had been called to find Rendon and bring him to justice, but it had came to a pause when the funeral ceremony had started. 

Lord Roswell attended to all of the guests, greeting them all with a solemn smile. He had been up well into the night to organise the funeral of the two men. He had been a personal friend of both, as well as the previous guardian of Lord de Sola. As the funeral progressed, Lord Roswell reminisced on the times he had spent with both men in these halls. The great excitement he had felt when his good friend the Emperor had informed him of Philip's arrival. 

At the end of the ceremony, a wake was held in the great hall of Dour Watch. The guests ate and drank to the lives of both men, and stories were shared. Towards the end of the night, the topic of succession was raised. There were many opinions for the next Duke, but most present supported Arthur Roswell. After much discussion, Lord Josef Vladov raised from his seat. He moved to Arthur with great haste, taking the Ducal crown from the table. Lord Josef placed the crown upon Lord Roswell’s head, offering a smile as he did so. He turns to the guests, proclaiming “Count Arthur Roswell has the support of you all here. His Imperial Majesty even offers his support to him. I believe that here sits the man who can make Istria flourish, as for too long it has sat desolate and barren.” The room erupted into applause, people standing to shake the hand of Lord Roswell. Emperor John was the first to raise, offering a smile to Arthur. “Congratulations Duke Roswell, you have earned your title.” After a few moments of shaking hands and exchanging words, Arthur Roswell stands from his seat to address the congregation of people before him. “I thank you all for your support in this matter. Each of you have my utmost respect for the faith you have placed on me to take Istria to the standard it should be at.” He turns to Emperor John, before taking a knee. “I gave my pledge to you as a Count. Now I make my pledge to you as a Duke.” After he reaffirms his pledge of allegiance, he raises back to his feet. “My first action would be to install Vespasian de Sola as Baron of Dour Watch. This is not my hold to keep, nor should it go to anyone other than de Sola.” After the guests had departed Dour Watch, Lord Roswell returned to his home in the County of Pompourelia to inform his family of their new position. 

Arthur Roswell frowns at the document. Not only is the boy wrong, but he has also cast an insult onto Arthur. He turns to his son, John. "It is true that your sister was set aside by her husband, but she was murdered. She was a strong character, she would never take her own life. This boy is an idiot. If we are the ones to find him, you will be the one to sever his head from his shoulders." He puts a hand on his sons shoulder, before placing the parchment down.

Arthur Roswell nods stoically as he meets the Castellan of Esterwick. His long hours of working for the defection seeming to have paid off. He waits patiently within the sturdy walls for his men to arrive. After many meetings and discussions the land finally cedes to Oren. The two step into the hall, the fire roaring wildly and filling the room with warmth. Arthur takes his seat at the table. "His Imperial Majesty, John I Frederick Horen, accepts your pledge of allegiance." He takes a sip of his wine, swilling it around his mouth. He savours the taste, nodding his head. It is not clear whether Lord Roswell is savouring the taste or the Orenian victory in acquiring Fort Esterwick. "The Imperial Forces will be with us very soon. We are placing men here to ensure that this hold remains in Orenian hands," He stands up and walks outside to the gate. In the distance the tops of halberds and helmets of the Imperial forces can be seen. "Open the gate!", barks the Lord Viceroy. The gate is opened and within minutes the hold is filled with Imperial soldiers.

Arthur Roswell would go to speak to his son, John. He sits with him, waiting for the right moment to tell him of the death of his new friend. "John." He said, softly. "You remember Uilliem?" Before he could finish his son was ecstatic. "The boy from the palace? He was going to squire me!" The young boy is ecstatic. After a few minutes pass, Arthur calms his son and informs him of Uilleam's death. Arthur tries to console his son. "A sad loss indeed." He says, as he explains what has happened to his son. Arthur is rather touched at the early departure of young Uilleam.

House History (Brief): After growing up under the guidance of a wealthy family, Arthur joined the service of Titus de Sola. After serving long and faithfully, Titus promised Arthur a knighthood. At the start of the Ducal War, Arthur hid in the feast hall of the Vanirs and found out about the Vanir plan to side with Adria. After reporting this to Guy de Bar, Olivier Savoie, and Titus de Sola, Arthur was promised a barony in the new Duchy of Istria. At the battle of Barrowyk, Arthur and his men fought valiantly and as a result of that he was granted the County of Pompourelia.

The word of Augustus' death reaches Arthur Roswell. Immediately he rises from his seat and informs his wife. "Your uncle is dead" he says. With empathy in his tone. It is not the priest he feels sorry for, but his wife. He consoles her before returning to his hall to sit by the fire. "At long last. A traitor gets what he deserves." He is slightly moved by Augustus' death, but he is more overjoyed to see the end of a corrupt and vile man.

Count Arthur hears this news. He turns to his Steward. "I sacked no Abbey in Alsace. Augustus was to be arrested on valid charges. I shall go to Luciensport to clear my name." He gathers his things and makes with haste to Lucienport.

Count Roswell remembers that the counties of Istria are all under the rule of Istria, not their own political agenda. "Interesting." He grunts, as he eats his supper.

A messenger enters the feast hall of Arthur Roswell. He hands his liege the letter. Arthur scans the letter with his tired eyes, nodding along at the words. Count Arthur demands pen and parchment, and in his own hand pens a letter in response.

To His Grace, Duke of Istria, Guile de Sola.

I Arthur Roswell, first Count of Pompourelia, swear my allegiance to my new Duke, Guile de Sola. I wish him a long and prosperous reign, and hope that he rules fair and well like his predecessors did before him.

The letter is written on fine parchment, with perfectly joined and lined writing. It is rolled into a tight barrel, and tied with a small piece of ribbon due to the lack of wax in his comfortable room in Braaburg Keep. Inside, the note reads:

"To His Imperial Majesty, John of the House Horen, and the Imperial Council, I Arthur of the House Roswell, first Count of Pompourelia, reaffirm my vows of unwavering loyalty to the Imperial Crown and the Empire of Oren.

I am also aware of some charges that have been placed against me. I denounce these false claims and accusations against me. I wish to attend my trial and show the realm of my innocence, and loyalty.

At the bottom of the page the sigil of House Roswell, a soaring Crane, is sketched.

Count Roswell moves with pace along the road to Felsen. He catches glimpse of the Imperial Palace over the top of the trees. He turns to his bodyguard saying, "We are close, William." He kicks his horse into a light gallop, slowing as he reaches the gates of Felsen. He dismounts his horse and hands the reigns to William. He walks quickly through the streets to the meeting point.

Hail to you, I am an Imperial Count in the Holy Orenian Empire. Im looking for a few players to come join me as relatives. At the moment there isnt many of us, and we need a few more members. The bird keeper in Aurelia brings the message into the dim-lit hall of Arthur Roswell. The new lord scans over the page, raising his eyebrows and nodding along, agreeing with the words on the parchment. He turns to his steward and tells him to write down his words. The steward would write the following:

Father, I am fully supportive of your words and logic. To remain as a powerful kingdom the Lords of Oren must remain as pious as is possible. I am aware that  confession is of huge importance. I myself would like to seek mercy from God, with a confession. I believe that this will put my mind at rest, and allow my soul safe passage into the skies, so that my sins do not pressure God. I would also like to add that the construction of a church in Aurelia is of the utmost importance. It will be the first building to be constructed on my land. This requires a holy man to come and give service. As a result of this, I would request word to be spread that I am looking for a holy man to work the soon to be constructed church of Aurelia.

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): The youngest of three sons born to a wealthy farmer, Jojen found it difficult to fit in. Their lands where located on the outskirts of Felsen, and often his father would invite prominent citizens to diner in the hope of finding Gerold a fitting bride. His father would never allow him time to mix with the people who visited his home. This was always destined for his eldest brother, Gerold. Jojen was always close the middle brother, Arthur, and the two of them frequently went out together on hunting trips when his father and Gerold hosted the families of the guests. After his fathers death at the hands of the dwarves, Gerold succeeded to the family fortunes, and for a period of time Jojen and Arthur carried out raids on dwarven towns as revenge from his father. Both Jojen and Arthur remained at their homeland, but after many years Gerold banished his two brothers from their home to make space for his new wife and future child. Arthur and Jojen split, and Jojen became a sellsword, in the hope to acquire himself a reputation as a trained fighter. This he hoped would bring him the attention to be eventually given his own lands if he served the right lord. After years of battle and serving, jojen caught wind that his brother, Arthur was being made a land holder under the de Sola family, and he set out to seek his brother in the hope of a more relaxed life as a landholder.

The lords of House Roswell supported the conquering House Horen in the conquest for Oren and were rewarded handsomely for their bravery and obvious skills in strategic planning. This house remained loyal to their liege lords until the Third Empire. Jojen Roswell, the acting Lord of the Roswell lands opposed the Ashfords and were crushed. Their lands were scorched and their family name was left in tatters. All but two members of the house were slain by the attackers. Lord Arthur and Lord Gerold, the final two remaining members of the Roswell lineage.

After many years of travelling, the young lords were able to make use of their niche interest in military strategy. Lord Gerold worked his way to the rank of seneschal, and became renowned for his expert strategic mindset. Meanwhile, Lord Arthur worked as a Battle General, leading forces from the ground. Many knew of these two brothers, and many hoped that they would never face them in battle. After a number of years the brothers became too well known and renowned to not hold their own lands. Their liege lord granted the brothers their own castle, with a small village to sustain themselves. They ruled for a number of years, but the brothers began to fight and bicker; especially after the new arrival of Arthur's nephew. The succession was disputed and it ended in a division in the family. Gerold dropped his ancient family name to found his own dynasty and tossed Arthur out into the dirt to start his life again away from the newly formed family of his brother.
