Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play. Character’s name: Lauren Dartmouth Character’s gender: Female Character’s race: Human (Southerner) Character’s age: 25 Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.): When Athera fell thanks to the efforts of an giant worm with a limitless appetite, Lauren was left with nothing but her clothes, a sackful of minas stuffed in her britches, and a copy of “Learning the Common Tongue” by the monks who lived near the Cloud Temple. It was intended as a present for her nameday, but she kept it in her hands as she boarded the boats that led to new lands. Her parents stayed on Athera to wait for space on another boat, promising that they would meet her in wherever island or continent the ships sailed to. As the boats departed, their sails unfurling to the soot-filled winds and the rumbling sea, Lauren left as an daughter and came to Vailor as an orphan. She waited for her parents, but to no avail. Days passed as the driftwood was collected for huts and the people slowly left in search of farmland, but Lauren stayed and looked for any sign of her parents. Farmers themselves who resided in Kaedrin, her father taught her foraging in the hills near the towering walls of the Holy Oren Empire and how to tend crops reserved for the military. She helped her father tend to the crops The former nourished her for a time in the new land, but she found herself constantly hungry and deprived. Reading kept her going for a fortnight as she read and memorized the basics of the common tongue, but Lauren saw herself biting the leather and chewing the pages as food grew thin. Words could feed the soul, but not the body. She looked elsewhere for a chance to truly live as she did back in the wheat fields of her childhood. Wandering through the lands, she re-invented herself as a beggar within the walls of Felsen, watching soldiers pass by and merchants selling ores and baubles in the crowded streets. Asking for coin was a hard life. She had neither the looks nor the wits for people to part with their minas easily. Breadcrumbs and rags were all that she received. , but with time she learned the ways of the city. A loaf of bread went missing one day, and coins without a friend soon ended up in Lauren’s hands. The possibility of getting caught was nothing compared to the emptiness of hunger that plagued her. One day she entered a tavern along the roads hopefully to see something worth stealing. Felsen was a land of slim pickings from the start. Fashioned lords with their bright banners and shiny armor kept their money close, and the merchants even more so. She left for Adria because of their wheat fields. She loved the sight of wheat, the way it devoured the land like the sea. Lauren loved taverns since there was always a warm fireplace somewhere that she could stay near before she faced wind’s chilling bite. It reminded her of home and what could have been had the blasted ships did their jobs right. As she took a purse shining in the candlelight, a hand caught her arm. The purse belonged to the innkeep, and he caught her in the act. Surprisingly, however, she was taken in as his apprentice. The man was ailing and needed help in the kitchen. This sudden act of generosity surprised her, and as she was taken to cook the pork tenderloins and stir the stewpot she learned to cook moderately well. The mere sight of food pleased her, and she eagerly worked till the end of the day where the leftovers were put in front of her before it went to the pigs and plants. Now of age, she sets out to make her own living after her mentor died from old age. She closed the tavern as customers went elsewhere in search of ale, and she left the tavern with one motive. To never go back to those bitter days of begging and stealing, and to secure a new life for herself. Whether that be in a tavern or in a cell, that would be up to her. Personality Traits: Scrappy, inquisitive, and always looking for something to do, she is sincere but cautious with strangers and friends alike from her childhood begging on the streets. She sometimes shows sparks of street-smarts in her daily life, making more with less. She is passive and prefers not to fight, and her moral stance on issues can be ambiguous at times, but her motto in life is to do anything she can for a living, and she follows that singular philosophy no matter the task. Ambitions: Her ambition is to live free and to always have some minas in her coinpurse. To her, money is a large part of her motivation to do well in anything. Her dream is to have a large amount of money and to live life simply and without any worries or fears. Strengths/Talents: From her childhood, she gained a deep appreciation for food and grew to be clever from her years on the streets. She has a rudimentary knowledge in farming and is an experienced cook from her time working at the tavern. She can hold conversations pretty well with other people and can read and write. Her ambitions allow her to have less fear than your ordinary wench, and she learns very quickly. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Her philosophy of “do anything you can for a living” can get her into some trouble at times. She is a penny pincher and doesn’t part with her minas easily, and she can get quite greedy with the money that she already has. Her combat prowess is nonexistent, and her ability as an craftsman is rudimentary, which is a problem when she gets into problematic situations (involving banditry) Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): She is of average height (5.1 feet with brownish hair and black eyes, wearing a simple dress. Appearance, please provide us a screenshot of your character’s skin (If you need help, see our screenshot guide here):
  3. *A response is posted on the notice board next to it* "For your first challenge you must find Jared Halton in Felsen and use the code word Sky Prison." This was a really interesting puzzle. Upon counting the numbers in total, there are a even number of one's and zero's. Seeing that they were even, I decided to seperate this code into segments of two, four, six, and eight respectively. Here, a pattern began to emerge as every eight numbers started with zero, unlike the other cases I tried. Quite interesting. Upon further observation it shows a pattern between the absence of a one and the letter it corresponds to. After looking at it closely, you can see that after the starting zero, it follows it up with a one. The number of ones after the initial zero acts as a signal to the letter. Now, few segments only had one "1" after the initial zero. It must mean something special. Thinking of a regular sentence, it could only mean a capital letter. After all, the first use of this pattern is at the beginning. Using this hunch for now, I deliberated that segments with two or more "1" in their segments are lowercase letters. After a bit of head-scratching, I did it! I think. "Sky prison" sounds quite ominous. T'was fun! -Sincerely
