See, you think I'm joking but I'm not, it's confirmed by multiple 'charter team' moderators. We literally have the most activity on average, compared to all other nations.

Interesting, I was told the same and it was mentioned during the community meeting and in another official post. *shrug*

What makes you think you have the privilege to ask such things? It seems you're not asking for compensation but demanding it if things don't go your way?

I am not sure what comes to your senses when they announce this, if the island of Ceru goes. The people of suitica or other residents will be moved to Tahn with a settlement close to the other racial capitals to hope to keep roleplay close together (This is what I think will happen anyway). Though I wouldn't see that any other compensation would be given. The GM's/Admins/Devs wouldn't suggest these changes without thinking of cause and effect.

If you spent hours and time making 200k and purchasing something with it, only for it to be erased by some unseen force that you have no control over, you'd want your money back too.

Sutica does NOT want to be close to other settlements or capitals. It's designed to be away from everyone. Its why Pandann put us on Ceru as the only nation in the first place, because we did NOT want to get involved with other nations and their Game of Thrones nonsense.

Sutica is meant to be a place where players can casually RP in peace. It wasn't even meant to be a nation in the first place but RP forced it to be. Even on 6.0, our plot is away from other nations. Granted, 6.0 is a lot smaller and we are closer, but we are still significantly separated from others because that's been our culture from Day 1. We don't get involved nor do we want to be involved.

Maybe the fact that players are RPing in such a place should be a sign to other nations to change their ways if they want to retain these players.

Are you asking for compensation if they choose option A? Or compensation if we have a map change? Either way in my opinion it should be a no. Despite it being a huge f*** you, at least to anyone in the map. The reason I chose option D is due to getting rid of everything. Starting over. Even though I know prebuilt structures have already occurred. I'll personally prefer if we start from scratch without LC. Though that's my opinion.

Compensation if they destroy Ceru. I spent over 200k+ to own it all, simply not to use the land but to prevent enemies from moving onto the land in the first place. Would have owned all of Ceru but GMs refuse to let me expand further.

If the island does go, I want compensation. IDC if its close to map swap, its the principle of it.

Can't believe I'm quoting Ski after everything.

I get that you're wanting to shrink the current map while we wait for 6.0 but this will only ruin the actually active cities on these two islands.

Mess Tahn up, remove inactive nations that have existed since VAILOR and have been protected by OOC nonsense, stop giving out charters and let nations give out land to these people instead, cause natural disasters on unused tiles.

Uprooting current RP hubs through OOC methods is only going to destroy those that worked to build and maintain RPly while we move and have to rebuild everything. It favors those settlements that aren't being affected OOCly. I'd rather have all 3 Isles undergo some Pangea **** and everyone have to deal with the backlash.

PS: Am I getting compensation for the 200k+ I had to give to Ever and other Admins to buy all these tiles I'm losing?

  5. "Shame to hear about the conditions of the cavern." An elfess  mutters to herself after hearing such news. She reflects on her memory of Jayce as she turns to her child. "I wonder if things would have been different if I hadn't dug out chunks of that cavern myself or paid my citizens to do it for the 'Ker to have homes because it was Jayce's dream."

She sighs and returns to her work.

  6. I rarely agree with Sky, but the lore feels more confusing than informative because of how many different identifiers used.

While having a cool, flavor text filled story is a nice read, lore shouldn't be confusing and difficult to read and follow.

Else, people are left to either assume they understand it or contact random LT of the day for an explanation. And that never goes well.

    >clerics can literally create weapons that one-shot every dark being

    >paladins can evoke light that can one-shot dark beings

    >ascended have a literal spell that infinitely eats away dark beings

Dark magic has as many limits as holy magic does, or even ******* more. The power-creep of holy mages and the 'super-hero' complex is basically what makes it unbearable to even play a dark creature in this server. Or just anything differing from the norm.

    0

Once again, Cleric's cannot create weapons that one-shot every dark being. We can't even create weapons that one shot ANY dark being.

The only Paladin I've seen that can one shot things is Leric with the sword, I don't even know if he still has that sword though.

I've witnessed Ascended throw soul fire 'grenades' at dark beings and they've emoted "Walks a bit slower, now on fire."

What really needs to happen is when Lore Changes and/or MT makes decisions about what can or can't be done that goes against the approved lore that's visible to everyone on the forums, it becomes documented and added to the lore's post.

There have been many times where I'm shown screenshots of someone doing something extreme or going against what the lore states, and when brought to MT or LT I'm told "Oh we decided they could do that" or "Yea even though the lore doesn't state it, they can do it". This would stop stuff like you're saying is happening, as no where in the Cleric lore does it say anything can be one shotted and it leaves a paper trail that's public so all, clerics using the magic and those involved with it, know if it's viable or straight PG.

No more from me, need to maintain my post to rep raito.

Because every other topic of discussion in spook chats is about holies having insta-kill spells and that spook combat is for the neutral/mundane folk and not the holies.

    Cleric's don't have insta-kill spells.

And I've always seen the food chain, at least for Clerics, as: Holy>Dark>Mundane>Holy   A sword to the face hurts a Cleric real bad. :(

  9. 8 minutes ago, The Pink Lion said:

I don't think this is a good fix, nor would I be enforcing it if someone tried to force implement the system. Holy trumps dark when in direct confrontations, that's the drawback to playing a spook, you're weak to certain ****. Spooks can still use voidal magic a majority of the time, along with other methods of combat to try and work around said weakness, but at the end of the day this is just messing with how the magics work inherently. Does holy v dark need balancing? Absolutely, but a system like this isn't the way to go about doing it.

    0

    This.

As of late, I've seen the powercreep of spooks. Dark magic has no limits because there are no real rules they have to follow when creating new lore.

The moment a new Dark Souls-esque game comes out, suddenly that Dark Magic is in LotC. Dark Magics are getting additions constantly, becoming stronger, more resistant to their counter.

Holy Magic rarely gets a new addition, Clerics haven't gotten anything in 2 years (Divine Wardenism does not count as it was never taught and the only teacher doesn't play). When trying to get additions and lore passed, the hammer of rules and the question of 'Why would you even need to be stronger?' is asked.

We're literally Aztec warriors with spears and loincloths trying to fight some modern age military system with nukes and satellite targeting.

Have more combat oriented weaknesses. RP weaknesses for your character are cool aesthetic ones, but rarely will that ever trump the OOC desire of someone to do something. It's nice to think it would or does, but be serious.

The subjectivity of this is bad. It should be left at just region owners. How would a GM be able to determine the influence of an individual in a region, when they themselves are not of that region or nation? Typically, lead stewards and guard captains are already region owners (the lead steward's literal job is adding people to a region). This is dumb. Just revert it to region owners. Anyone can claim significance in a region.

Also, the general way these rules are laid out makes it so that 9 times out of 10, the couping faction will succeed. You should probably consider balancing that.

    0

Agreed, I wish NL's were contacted and consulted for input about potential issues before this was made public and official.

Most people that are region owners on any region are stewards, simply people with a notebook putting a person in a home. They most often do not have access to a palace, a vault, the armory, or any place of actual 'power' in a city.

If I, the PRO of a nation, am not online, you're telling me I can lose /everything/ if half of these stewards are on at once and are killed?

    That makes 0 sense.

Name of Artifact: A Cleric's Bond

    b3d0f11019cf88d2be7b7e9ba82af24c.png

    (Karyssmov's Ring, in Lilyana's possession.)

    fbc444e036b47a7005eb6e59e2c9f43e.png

    (Lilyana's Ring, in Karyssmov's possession.)

MC Name of person(s) currently in possession of Artifact: SquirtGun and K0llu

RP Name of person(s) currently in possession of Artifact: Lilyana and Karyssmov

MC Name of creator(s) of Artifact (N/A if not applicable): SquirtGun and K0llu

RP Name of creator(s) of Artifact (N/A if not applicable): Lilyana and Karyssmov

    Effect(s) of Artifact:

When the ring's wearer thinks of the ring's creator, the crystal embedded within the ring will begin to shine with a Guiding Light spell.

Its brightness is determined by how far the ring is from it's creator, growing brighter the closer the ring is to its creator.

(A simple locating enchantment, but utilizing the Guiding Light clerical spell.)

When the ring's wearer thinks of the ring's creator, the light exuded from the crystal will bring the individual comfort, as if the ring's creator was actually present.

    Red Lines of Artifact:

The light inside these items cannot be used for combat.

The light inside these items cannot be sapped for other spells, like a normal blessed item.

The Guiding Light spell within these crystals does not manifest a light outside of it, like the normal spell. The crystal itself will begin to glow in place of an orb.

The comforting light cannot heal directly, but it is possible that it can calm down the ring's wearer which could slow down blood loss or the spread of a poison by slowing down an excited heart.

The ring's and their wearers cannot communicate with each other outside of learning of their general position by the Guiding Light spell. (No telepathy or visions).

Explanation of effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

A cleric's light is unique to each cleric, taking on its own color and form when manifested. if you're familiar with a cleric enough, you'd be able to pick out their magic in a group of clerics, simply by the color and style of their light. Thus, a cleric's light can be seen as a calling card and a way to trace a spell back to whom casted it.

Both cleric's focused internally, harvesting light as it passed through their connected  souls, and began to cast the Guiding Light spell from within. Once the Guiding Light spell was formed, the pure crystals were pressed to their chests, allowing the spell to seep through them and into the crystals.

From here, the clear crystals took on different shades and attributes dependent on the cleric's light: Karyssmov's crystal took on an amber color that seemed to smolder within while Lilyana's crystal took on a golden color that seemed to be chaotic within.

With both crystals in hand they fitted the precious stones into rings which they exchanged, allowing each other to find one another and remind them of their bond.

Number of duplicates of this Artifact: There is only one pair of rings, Karyssmov's and Lilyana's.

Do you agree to keep the MT updated on the whereabouts and ownership of this Artifact by using the Magic List Errors?: Yes

Have you applied for this Artifact before, and had it denied? If so, link the app: No

Soft snoring filled the dark space of the bedroom. His exhaustion spoke volumes as he rested following a long day of fighting.

Her state wasn’t much better, truthfully. But her mind reeled with the day’s events as she stared at the dark gray walls.

The bubbling of the fish tank competing with his snores for dominance.

But it was only background noise as those last words of his replayed in her mind, over and over and over.

The only end to it was the slamming of the door as they left and the shrill laughter that echoed in her ears.

A log shifted towards the foot of the bed and embers sparked in the air.

She slid from beneath the blanket, her feet recoiling at the coldness of the stone floor for a moment.

She trudged towards the fireplace and took the long iron poker from the wall and readjusted the logs.

The flames licked and lapped towards the empty space above them, and her eyes became lost in the long tendrils of light.

“I will always love you and I will always protect you.”

Those words that night echoed in her mind that moment. Those words that night echoed in her mind every moment, truthfully.

    ~

Her heavy eyes closed as the fire’s warmth washed over her, her head falling against her arm as sleep took her.

She dreamt of a young boy in a tree seeking her assistance.

She dreamt of a young boy wanting to prove himself.

She dreamt of a young boy who seemed to get hurt and needed to be heal one time too often to be a mere coincidence that he came to her.

She dreamt of her hands covered in his blood as he laid in the street and a fire inside that burned bright.

She dreamt of that fire raging forth the day the shade struck the young boy down.

She dreamt of a young boy sitting with her as she read a story about a rainbow fish and tried teaching a lesson about being prideful.

She dreamt of a young boy that needed a family, needed a home, needed someone to protect him even though he pretended not.

She dreamt of herself, trying to be that person.

But the happy and pleasurable memories begin to become cloudy and fade. And soon, images of violence and evil replaced them.

Swords clashing, shouts and screams, and the blood, the endless blood.

The nightmare she dreamt was truly the reality. The world that she tried to protect him from was a foe that even her shields could not protect him from.

The young boy she once dreamt of with his blue eyes and his single out of place lock of hair, the young boy with his dreams of being a protector and hero, the young boy with his dreams of being loved by all and surrounded by a large family, was fading.

And in its place was a hardened young man with amber eyes, a young man with reality dealing its harsh blow that being a hero isn’t exactly what you once thought it meant, and a young man who abandoned those that loved him most because of a title and pride.

How she wished she read him the story of the rainbow fish more. How she wished she held him just seconds longer. How she wished she told him how much she meant to him.

But reality was not giving her time to wallow in her wishes,  but attacking her even in her dreams as the voices of the others echoed in her mind.

“What are we going to do…. This isn’t right?”

“This cannot stand! He will not allow it!”

“Lily, what are we going to do?”

    “What is the plan?”

She stared at the flames and gave her answer, the same answer she always gave.

    “I will protect him. Always.”

    ~

A heavy hand falls on her shoulder and she jolts awake.

She turns and is met by Reign’s tired face looking down upon her. He lowers his cheek to hers, his beard rubbing against her soft skin as he drapes a blanket over her.

    “I failed him, Reign…..I promised….”

His hand rubs her opposite upper arm as he shakes his head softly, causing hers to shake as well, quieting her voice.

    “Tomorrow is another day.”

And with that he helped her to bed, wrapping a blanket around her

and placed a protective arm over her.

The sparks from the fireplace began to die down. The shadows of the room reached out and swallowed the dimming light. The light snores slowly returning to rock her to sleep.

And with a deep breath she closed her eyes, falling asleep with the warmth of the room

and the slight scent of basil in the air.

  13. 2.

Ive been reporting the same individuals for two weeks that remake personas and attack the same settlement multiple times a day, abuse construct buffs without rping it's disadvantage, and camp fast travels. Today alone it's been twice times in 2 hours. We've resorted to simply pvping them instantly to get rid of them.

    This shouldn't be happening.

The sounds of the mallet upon the stake resonated through the dry and cracked soil of the desolate village.

The wooden stake sinking lower and lower into the darkness of the earth until it’s pointed end broke through the large cavern that existed just below the surface of that exact spot, ironically.

A screech echoed out as sunlight began to flood the dark space, soil shifted and stirred, small feet clawed at the walls before a small head popped through the surface.

It’s beady pupils expanded and shrunk repeatedly, trying become accustomed to the bright light of the surface world.

As it peered around with its poor vision, it noticed a lone figure in a dress walking away.

But its vision was quickly blocked once more as a gentle breeze forced a poster to land smack in the center of the creature’s face.

With a screech of fright and anguish, fearing its immediate demise!, it rolled over and played dead.

Yet after several moments of not perishing, the creature soon realized that the old poster was harmless, aside from the potential of a nasty papercut.

With its dirty clawed hands it grasped the poster and pulled it close to its poor eyes, trying to understand what was shown upon it.

The words were many and difficult to understand, but the picture beneath the words showed a great battle of dark creatures veruses seemingly small mortals.

The creature moved the paper under its grubby arm, now intrigued by its message, and returned beneath the surface.

It clawed and dug at the dark soil, snapping its teeth at its brothers and sisters that wanted to steal the treasure it had recovered from the surface world.

But this creature had a mission, leading himself to the greatest of tunnels beneath the surface and to the largest of its people.

With a bowed head, the best bow its kind could could reproduce, it handed the poster over to its leader.

The being raised the note to its beady eyes and adjusted a ruddy crown upon its head as it stared at the words atop the dirtied and worn poster.

    “Mord..ring…?”

It shook its head, trying to focus its poor eyes on the paper and clawed at the dirt and mud, smearing the message.

“Mol…...king? Aha! A message from the surface world!”

The Mole King’s eyes looked upon the image of the battle painted below the words, seeing the scene of a great battle and the creatures seemingly toppling the small opponents.

A strangle and malicious chuckling began to escape the depth of the Mole King’s throat as he lowered the paper.

As his laughter grew louder, thousands of beady eyes began to open, their owners clutching the walls of the dark lair began to laugh alongside their lord.

For the denizens of the underworld knew that this message was a sign to reclaim the land once taken from them by the small folk of Reedsborough long ago.

    War was coming to Reedsborough

    ~

  15. The unkempt grass crinkled under her light feet.

The numerous twigs and branches that fell in the path and hadn't been removed snapped as she walked upon them.

    "Where had they all gone...?"

Her knees sunk into the cold dew of the grass as her head lowered to the floor.

Her knuckle rapped upon the small burrow door.

But only an echo of emptiness answered her.

The animals bleated and huffed loudly, their food troughs bare and their water bows dry.

The feed sacks were soaked and rotten, the fields covered in weeds and infested with moles and the like.

"It's as if....they just vanished without a word..."

She stroke passed the festival grounds where she pardoned a turkey and feasted alongside the small ones.

Her memory of their laughter filled her mind, the memory of sitting on the floor to discuss an expansion they wanted, and received.

"If that little sheriff knew what had happened to his people...."

With a heavy heart she raised her small mallet and hammered the sign into the dry and cracked soil.

She left the village, only stopping to look back with fleeting hope to see if there were a single chimney with smoke rising from it in the distance.

And then she turned and continued on her path home, for there was none.
