  1. This will come off negative but is meant to be taken as constructive criticism. Your post is filled with grammatical errors and incomplete sentences. No one expects perfection when it comes to a LotC forum post, but there’s an issue when a post is more of a struggle to read than a pleasure. You randomly capitalize words that don’t need it. IE: “ As told by The leading lady ” and “With our new system Warning points are ” You misuse commas by either placing them where they aren’t needed or not placing them where they are needed. IE: “You cried. We answered! ” and “Moderation is no longer handling Charter issues, that go to a focus group within the World.” and “If you have died, and are back in the same spot make the modreq in that location explaining in detail when and where it happened!” Some sentences are incomplete and/or incoherent. IE: “ If you are lagging or scared of a SS. ” and “With the bottom of my heart, all teams are trying” And you use the wrong homophone(s). IE:”I would like to put a friendly reminder to the few that it hasn’t gotten around too. ” The misuse of verbs and matching them with your subject. IE: “Meetings for this project is fast and productive” and “ If you are Charter issues, such as ” While your intention is good at ensuring information gets to the public, the delivery is mired full of the above issues. It’s also complicated by some of the inside/”funny” jokes that are thrown about that the public isn’t in tune with. IE: All of the multiclassing/Karen/Coming back from the dead nonsense. (I’m not going to point out all of the issues, just a few to show that there is an issue.) I know that, in the past, it was encouraged for directors and managers to have their posts ran by Telanir before posting to ensure a certain “tone” was being set forth to the players. While Telanir may be missing, it may be a good idea to have others proofread posts in the future. Once more, this isn’t to harp but to point out a glaring issue that detracts from your post. No one’s perfect (as I’m sure I’ve made my own mistakes in this very post) but I think this post could read easier and better, and hopefully future posts will.

  3. "There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship." - Thomas Aquinas As the ice and snow from the colder years begin to thaw across the land, the denizens of Atlas begin to awake from their deep hibernation and look to the rising sun on the horizon. Each day presents new challenges and obstacles to face, and often times such things are difficult, if not impossible, to face alone. And thus, we turn to our companions, our comrades, and our friends. Join us in celebrating such bonds between people with the Festival of Friendship! What: When: Where: More to Come:
  4. Greetings, With another month under our belt, another update is needed. I won’t be going into great detail about the event numbers, as Skylez goes into detail about that. (But this was our busiest months yet!) However, I will go over some frequent questions about the Event Team that people often ask! How are Actors/Builders chosen? Is there a quota? How is activity checked? I think a certain area is getting too many events/we're not getting any events! How do I get an event for myself/my group? With that being said, we may be doing a server event for Valentine's Day. So look for that in the coming week or so. But, we'll head into the updates from the Actors and Builders. ~ Squirt Skylez, ET Actor Manager, here. Let’s get right into it, as I’m sure most of you know what I do; interviewing applicants, reviewing logged events, evaluating actors, so forth and so on. Actor Roster: New Additions: Several of our actors this month have left the team for various reasons, along with a few removals, leaving us with 6 actors excluding the newly added. However, this was expected with January, as winter break ends and school begins for most once more. Oncenoeda and Ebonsquire both have decided to resign, which were undoubtedly two of our most experienced and brightest. Both of them have put in a large amount of work into the team, with the Mordskov eventline being Oncenoeda’s magnum opus. We wish these two the best in wherever real life takes them. o7 This Month: Despite the actor exodus in the later days of January we have somehow managed to pull off more events this month than any others, post ET purge. In total there has been 83 logged events, greater than any other month we have had thus far; last month we pulled off 70 events. (Keep in mind there is a few duplicate logs in this number, as for instance two actors may have logged the same event that they both equally worked on.) And the most productive Actor this month… Next Month: Currently the team is recuperating after we lost a good chunk of our actors, several left because of real life commitments, while others had to be removed due to the misuse of PEX. New actors are being trained and are eager to prove themselves to the community. See you around, -Skylez Good Day Folks, Seventh Again, With your Monthly Event Team Builder Update January was a solid month like most, we had 14 builds logged this month with an average of 2.3 per builder. Many of these builds have either been used in events already or are coming to you soon! Roster New Additions And with that I’d also like to congratulate Elrith/Mordu for his massive number of contributions this month! Thanks! ~Seventh
  5. This silence will end then the trumpets blare, signaling His arrival. The gates shall open and Judgement shall be cast upon the land. Do you believe you will be worthy?
  6. You cannot self-teach clerical healing. You can find Clerics within the High Elves, Sutica, or Warhawk territory.
  7. "You comment about generalizing such thoughts, yet you do the same when such philosophy isn't taught by our sect of clerics but the thoughts that one person has. But let's continue to generalize negative thoughts upon groups, because that didn't go poorly for the Ascended during the events in the last land."
  8. Greetings and Happy New Year, As with all update posts, this post will include information regarding the Event Team's work during December and their plans looking forward. End of Axios Transition Isle Krugsmas New Year, New Plans And with that I'll let Skylez1, Actor Manager, and Seventhcircle, Builder Manager, share with you their take on this past month. One final thing though.... ~Squirt Actor Roster New Additions With these additions Actor recruitment will be put on hold as we have a great number as is, 17. Joel (ScreamingDingo) has decided to resign, leaving on a good note; I would like to thank him for the great amount of work he has put into the team and we wish him the best. This Month: Next Month: Looking towards January the team is currently preparing eventlines for this new map whilst also performing several other smaller events, not much to show, yet! See you around, -Skylez New Builders Departing Builders We want to welcome our new team members and give a fond farewell to those that are leaving us due to a busy real world beckoning them. They leave on good terms and we look forward to them returning to us in the future. The Numbers Hope you guys had happy holidays and look forward to you enjoying our coming builds! - Seventh
  9. Were there any major changes to the old lore? I'm a bit pressed for time and a change log would be an easy read for those accustomed to the old lore. :)

  11. Your boat can only be flagged for one adventure, either War or Peace. You, yourself, can partake in both War, by going to the PvP portion of the Isle, and Peace, by heading to a safe boat. Teegah says he can have status' set up different colors. He'll be working on it in the coming days.
  12. Ahoy! As many, if not all, are aware, we'll be spending some time upon the open seas before landing on the shores of Atlas. As there will be many players centralized, each having their own specific preference, we've created numerous activities for you to partake in. Please be aware: You may now put chests upon your ships and fill them with equipment and supplies for the long journey! (Use /lock, /unlock, and /cmodify in the boat regions) -Weapons are allowed. -Armor is allowed. -Food is allowed. ** Bring anything you want for the trip, but know that it must be in a chest as player inventories will be wiped. ** ** Chests,E-Chests, and Player inventories will both be wiped before landing onto Atlas. Only your Vault will survive. ** Check the spoilers below for group-specific information: The Swashbucklers (PvP) The Tourists (RP) The Explorers (Island RP) tl;dr Put equipment and food in chests upon your boats. Basic /lock commands have been made available to the boats region. If your boat isn't in the region, have a GM make a region and allow it. Player inventories will be wiped, if its not in a chest it isn't going over. Before going to Atlas, everything is wiped. Mark above your boats with Red Wool if you want to fight and Blue Wool if you want peace.
  13. From what I was told: We will be on boats for roughly 2 days, the 14th to 16th. ET has established a deserted island we will be able to use to "stretch our legs" and walk around. ET will be doing events during the time, on both the ships and island. If you can't make it onto a boat in time, then just say you tagged along/were sleeping in cargo/got tangled in the ropes of a mast/etc. I don't think anyone will judge you for not being on a boat amidst an evacuation. Just be lost in the masses til we land.
  14. As the isles of Axios are befallen with disasters, natural and magical alike, words of hope are sent out from the Cloud Temple. As our land writhes in agony and life becomes further hampered each day, we have worked alongside adventurers to find a path to salvation. With strong bodies and sharp minds, the denizens of Axios have assisted we, the monks of Cloud Temple, in charting a new path to a distant land. If our translations of these ancient words are correct, this land promises to be a paradise in comparison to our current situation. Thus, we urge you to begin to make plans to sail and construct vessels to ensure you can make the long journey safely. Else, we shall be stuck upon these lands and become victim to the atrocities and forces at work here. So be swift , the seas grow rough and we must set sail in four stones days else we may not be able to escape! ~The Elder Monks of Cloud Temple OOC Information Below
  15. As smoke billows from the shattered ceiling of the palace, citizens begin to share the news among themselves ----- Some had heard the guards whisper of the increased attacks by the creatures of dark. Some had heard the clerics whispering of the increased strain upon the Light to protect the city. Some had heard the druids whispering of the instability in the balance of Ceru. ----- No matter the source, the story the same. Things were becoming dire, each day worse than the past. However, they stood with each other and looked to the billowing storm clouds upon the horizon, waiting for what was to come.
  16. Greetings, With the beginning of a new month comes the onslaught of staff team update posts. There’s lots of information to discuss, so we’ll jump right into it. ET Purge & Activity Proactive vs Reactive Activity Checks Transition Event 6.0 and Krugsmas Recruitment And with that, let me pass this update to my managers who will go into greater detail about their specific teams. ~Squirt ----------------------------------- ET Actor Manager here! My job roughly entails selecting and training new Actors, conducting check ins on the 15th and 30th of each month, reviewing logged events as well evaluating members, I could go on and on, yet I’ll keep this short. Actor Roster This Month: Beginning our count on the 12th of November (right after the ET purge) there has been 60 events logged. I’m very proud of the Actors for such a high number despite the hiccup we experienced in the beginning of the month. Rough Statistics: 70% of events logged this month were performed on Tahn. 19% of the events logged where hosted on Ceru. Lastly, 11% of the events logged were on Asul. Gold Star Award And the most active actor award goes to...... Prominent Event Lines: Mordskov - Tahn War for Ceru - Ceru The Tomb of Vaz'Karell - Tahn The Memory of Atlas - Tahn Currently Actors are working to wrap up active event lines so as to ensure ends are tied and we all go into Atlas with a clean slate. Next Month: Looking forward to December we the team is preparing the events that will lead up to Atlas, more on that coming very soon. Our goal is to integrate bits and pieces of the proverbial keys to 6.0 in concurrent event lines, rather than spring up something entirely new and foreign to the community. We are looking for new members for the ET, so get your applications in soon if you would like a chance to be a part of the team! See you around, -Skylez ----------------------------------- Greetings from the ET Builders! Over the past half a month or so, since major changes took place, we've made some amazing builds. This includes both event builds and 6.0. But before we get into admiring some of the builds, let's get the introductions over with. Let's welcome... Builder Roster Now, with the introductions of our current Build Team out of the way, I'd like to showcase some our work! Tomb of Vaz'karell Created by: drfate786, Starfelt, and Asimulum The team was able to complete six builds this month. While that seems like a small number, this wasn't a full month and Thansgiving for Americans occupied some time. However, all six builds were rather large builds. Plus, many of the builders are currently focusing on 6.0 to ensure it's timely, and stunning, release! Gold Star Reward Finally, a shout out to the best performing builder this month: Recruitment With Atlas nearing and Krugsmas following close being, we're always looking for builders! If you're interested, put an application up! That's all for now! -Seventh
  17. We only talked like twice, however both times was simple and nice. Wish you the best.
  18. Hey All, I’m going to keep this as brief as possible, yet knowing me this will still be three pages long. The Event Team roster is purged, effective today. Management has done the best they can, but with the revolving door of directors—the team is in shambles. Instead of applying bandaids, I am restructuring the team from the ground up. I want to ensure that all members have signed up for their role. The team duties will shift with the overhaul and all members should both be aware of and accept the new set of responsibilities that comes. Thus, the purge serves to shed old mentalities. Events Currently, actors are recruited as pseudo freelance agents, per se. It’s an aimless job where they may run events for any group of their choosing. Hence, the idea is, everybody will get an equal number of events. But it doesn’t work this way—bias is an unavoidable quirk. Members have always found a favourite place, and preferred performing events there. We should not ignore this. In fact, we can use this to our advantage. I will fill roles on the team with respect to the affiliations of each member. LotC is very diverse in distinct role play styles, and each group prefers a different style of events. Some areas take well to magical events, some prefer low-fantasy—the ET responsible for those areas will run events geared for what those players enjoy. With that said, actors aren’t barred from running events not in their area or from assisting with other events. Here we simply ensure that the community receives consistent events. Storylines I’ve noticed a trend of issues that follow storylines done by the ET. Either the target audience does not mesh with the event (Which the above will hopefully address) or the storyline gets dropped as a member becomes inactive. In an attempt to address this, ET members will now be required to create proposals for such events. This will alleviate numerous issues such as: enabling management to ensure work is being completed, allow fellow members to be aware of events going on in a region, and ultimately allow other members to carry on the story should its teller go inactive. This proposal will be a concise, informative and resourceful document for all members to utilize when bringing about events to the server. Player Event Support One topic I want to give a spotlight to is supporting player made events. Players often establish their own festivals and contests to attract players and bring entertainment to the server. I will be making it a priority to support these types of activities and ensure players receive the assistance they require to produce quality events of their own. More information about this process will be available soon. ProActive Moderation and Quotas Previous management teams have moderated in a reactionary manner, allowing for members to become too comfortable and for quality to slip. In an attempt to prevent such, I will be shifting the team to a proactive moderation style. Managers will be meeting with their members on a bi-weekly basis to review their work together. Criticisms and questions will be discussed, all aiming to better the team as a whole. Should management notice a member slipping, this will be when it will be addressed. Along with bi-weekly meetings, the team will be held responsible to working towards a ‘quota’. I understand that certain events are longer and require more time than others, making it difficult to give a solid number of what is expected. However, I expect every member to be producing consistent and quality events. Downsizing and PEX The team setup was a mess. Telanir found scraps of leftover in-game and forum permissions from members long gone—and not to mention, inactive staff that sat in perpetual hiatus. There is no single person to blame for this—the people that cared did their best but did not have the power or authority to do what had to be done. Going forward, I was presented an admin directive that the team size should be small and efficient as opposed to oversized and comatose. I am looking for a tight-knit team of skilled and dedicated roleplayers. This is a game. A volunteer position. I get it, 100%. However, once you step into this team you’re not just meeting my expectations—but the entire server’s. You’re putting a certain number of hours into your staff role each day, so you might as well make them worth your time. If you’re here to get some PEX, save my time and yours. But if you’re here to improve this server, then I want you on my team. I believe this is the right path. It’s a tough road to take but there is little time left and my team has to be prepared come the next map. -Squirt P.S. Yep, three pages.

  21. Armor and weapons clattered around the heroes as they fell from their lofty positions. The roots, that once held them in a deathly grip, slowly giving way. As adrenaline slowly faded from their veins, fatigue and reality began to set in. The Draoi…..the Parasite Druid…..the one that had been assaulting the city for close to a year with infected beasts, was defeated. But, ultimately, not by their hands. Before them stood their enemy, impaled by a giant flower. The handiwork of its own kind turning against them. As they picked themselves up, gathering their wounded and dead, the realization became apparent to them all. The battle had been won, Parasite was no more, yet….. ...Yeti… ...Black Widow… ...Hemlock… ...Mistletoe... Their arrival, though, signaled only the start of the war.
