Definitions What is roleplaying?: Completely immersing yourself in a certain character and world. Acting through the character's personality, history, and physical traits. What is metagaming?: Using the knowledge you possess as a player, but your character cannot possibly have. For example: looking up someone's character biography to learn his weakness, then capitalising on it. What is powergaming?: Making decisions for someone else's character. - A one-sided narrative. (I shoot you, you are dead.) / Beelining towards one specific goal instead of actually roleplaying. / Giving your character strengths without adding viable weaknesses to weigh it out, thus making him overpowered. In-Character Information Character’s name: Gúdon Character’s sex: Male Character’s race: High Elf Character’s age: 621 Biography: Gúdon was born in Aegis a long ago as the son of an alchemist couple. For centuries they lived in peace, far away from trouble. However, this all changed when Iblees reared his ugly head, and eventually everyone was forced to abandon their homes or die, as the very ground they lived on and off, literally fell apart. Gúdon managed to escape the realm, but not without losing most of his family, including his mother. All the hardship that followed; the Verge, Asulon, Anthos, the Fringe, Thales, Athera, name it all... Gúdon and his father endured, but the entire way he blamed, cursed and simply hated the Fallen One and the undead particularly. When his father finally died of flu, Gúdon fell into a depression which lasted for decades. During that time his hatred and grief manifested into a wicked interest. He grew increasingly obsessed with the force that claimed his mother's life, and he studied, and studied, and studied it, using his learned skill of alchemy to sustain himself and the high cost of the dusty old books. But unfortunately this only lead him to a dead end. He figured that the next step in his studies would be the practice of the fabled magic of Necromancy, but he never really came to make that particular leap. But he plans to do so, soon. Now, the depression is mostly behind him, but left a deep mark. Gúdon isn't the same Mali'aheral as he was before, and he retains his disturbing interest. He seeks a way to bend the magic to fit his image of doing good, but unlike a normal High Elf, he has grown very impatient. Personality Traits: - Way Too Proud and Confident: Gúdon is a proud mali'aheral, and as such tends to look down upon the smaller folks, often making him appear quite cocky. In public, however, he mostly manages to stay polite, albeit through great effort. Ambitions: Gúdon plans to leave his mark upon Vailor, but is still uncertain of which nature it will be. Strengths/Talents: Steadfast and Persistent. Weaknesses/Inabilities: - Obsession: Whenever Gúdon merely hears the mention of Undead or Necromancy, he will make an attempt to gather as much information as he possibly can, even if that requires him to follow someone to their home. - Gúdon is unskilled in combat, preferring to avoid trouble.
