    Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

             

    A Sorvian is a form of construct that is created, or more so sculpted from clay around a wooden body. Their “face” is a procelain mask that holds their soul essence together, the mask needs to have two clear holes for their eyes and one for their mouth. If this isn’t done they cannot be awakened in the first place.


    They hold a special reverence of their creator and place them on a pedestal. Sorvian’s are made to serve and will always serve their creators orders if one is given. To the point of being unable to disobey a direct order from their creator though they are able to have their own views on it and perhaps disagree with what is being said, yet they’ll follow the order still. They will also find themselves drawn to interact with different people around them to learn about their ways so that they themselves can find their own ideology that they will devote themselves to fully, even at the risk or threat of pain or death.

    The only time they may stray from an ideology is if it is somehow erased and even then there is a chance that they will continue to follow that ideology alone or they may break, while they'll keep their memories they’ll be like a blank slate akin to what they were like when first created but will view their past life like it was a different person.

     

    Physically a Sorvian is basically all flesh and bone in the literal sense. Since they have no blood or muscle they find themselves quite easily at the risk of having a limb cut off, given there isn’t much to stop a blade. Should that happen the lost limb turns back into clay. However this wont really hurt the sorvian apart from them not being able to use the detached limb. To really bring harm to a Sorvian, to the point of death. You would need to either pierce their chest which’ll mean they have 5 emotes to try and stop their soul essence from escaping, chop off their head which given that they’re all flesh and bone might be an easier option though they can do 1 more emote after that happens before dying. Or breaking their mask which takes 3 emotes to do.

    Sorvians deal with pain differently, should they lose a limb they won’t be wracked with pain like mortals would. Instead they feel a constant ache and throb that it’ll fade over a few years however they’re unable to heal any damage done to them, unless their creator repairs them. 

    Though with this they also do gain the benefits of being naturally ambidextrous in both hands, no blood so that they’re never at risk of bleeding to death and the main thing that they’re unaging. They do not suffer the effects of aging like descendants do though they do show the trials of time on their husks in other ways. Be it their own scars upon their clay bodies or callouses on their fingers.

    MC Item description (the exact description that will be used for the MC item if this MArt is accepted):

             

    An ancient Awakened staff made from oak, once wielded by Respiren himself, which has the upbeat personality of an adolescent about it and Druids would be able to sense a great amount of Druidic power that lies within. It currently reaches the total length of 6’7’’, gnarled bark covering it as well as small sprigs with bright green leaves; giving it the appearance of a healthy young tree that is in mid-growth.

     

     

    Effect(s) of the Artifact:

             

     

    Increases the Druid’s ability of Communion which will grant the wielder of the staff 5 free emotes before the Druid begins to feel the strain of casting, as if a tier five Druid were powersharing with them.
     

    The staff will be reclaimed by nature should it fall inactive due to a Druid trying to hoard it away without use, when that happens a new Druid shall be granted the boon of wielding it. For example, should a Druid fall inactive for a total of six months the staff shall be reclaimed by nature and a different Druid will receive it.

     

    Should the staff be somehow destroyed, as long there is the smallest splinter left it will regrow over time until it has reformed to its prior appearance with exact proportions and weight. The regrowing process will start after a single irl week and will be fully formed again after one irl month. Should several pieces of the destroyed staff be found, they will gradually fuse to the largest piece, to create a whole, rather than grow independently. The staff may not be ‘cloned.’

     

    The staff is Awakened, which gives it the appearance of a sapling. To Druids the staff has its own “voice,” audible through Communion, and has developed the personality of an upbeat adolescent, despite it being the oldest living staff that was once wielded by Respiren. Similarly to other sentient staves, a Druid may use Communion abilities such as Growth upon the staff, but are bound by the emote guide of those abilities. A Druid may also use the staff as a focus for Blight Healing.

     

    Event powers:

    Can be used to help grow an Elder Tree at a faster rate than normally possible with the gifts, enabling a Druid to add 15 metres per additional emote while casting Growth. The Druid using the staff must write extra emotes for this to happen, showing that the staff is lending its own power to help grow the tree in a quickend way.

     

    The staff can be used to aid ents. For example if an ent was to fall, the staff could be used to help guide it’s spirit to the mother tree or help grow a seed from its body so that it can grow into a tree itself with time. Can also be used to help heal said ent with greater effects while using the Druidic gifts.

     

     

    Red Lines of the Artifact:

    When used to help grow an Elder Tree or aiding an ent it must rest and recharge for one irl month before it can be used in that way again due to the sheer amount of energy required to do such a task.

     

    The staff cannot be used to take control of ents since they’re sentient creatures and attempting to take control of them would be against the balance of nature.


     

    The increasing of the Druid’s tier is only for the spells of Communion. Blight healing and Herblore are not affected by this staff,

     

    When interacting with Elders Trees even if a Druid has the staff, they cannot force the tree to do anything that might bring harm to itself. The tree is still fully able to refuse requests from the wielder of the staff.

     

    The same redlines of an Awakened item, which are as followed:

     

    Awakening is performed via Druidic Infusion.

     

    The physical capabilities of Awakened objects are largely flavour. Although a Druid may use them as a weapon, they are no more damaging than any mundane staff etc.

     

    Attempting to morph or change an Awakened object into something else(such as changing a stave into having a sharp pointed tip) uses the Communion ability Surge. As such, the required emotes are followed by what is stated there unless specified specifically in a MArt.

     

    One may not Commune with Awakened objects to metagame, e.g. learn about character death. Should one attempt to, the object will respond with confusion.

     

    Awakened objects returning to their owner is primarily an iRP explanation for mechanical soulbinds, players buying lost objects back from the auction house etc. It is not a means to demand stolen objects back from other players.

     

    Awakened staves can only become Sentient Staves after being with a Druid for 50 irl weeks.

     

    Try to develop your Awakened object as if a character. It will not immediately have a personality or be able to move, instead have it slowly progress to that point as a roleplay device.

     

    Awakened objects are considered enchanted under ST policy. They require ST-signing as a result.

     

    Awakened objects which go on to develop the capacity to move independently, or which undergo Infusion to create other effects, should be submitted as a MArt.

     

    Non-druids cannot use Awakened objects. Should an attempt be made, it would just be a regular object to them. Example: An Awakened stave would just be a regular stave with no added abilities in the hands of a non-druid.

     

     

     

     

    Explanation of the effect(s) (i.e. how it does what it does - slight bending of magic lore is allowed):

             

     

    The staff is the oldest living staff that was wielded by Respiren himself. It has been passed onto many different Druids throughout time, as a result it has been exposed to a large amount of Druidic energies which has granted it power of it’s own.

    With the amount of different Druids and their powers surrounding the staff, affecting it in different ways. It being Awakened has also helped it gain in power, even more so for just how long it’s been Awakened for.

    What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Blight Healing

     

    Summarise the Lore of this magic(s):

             

    Blight Healing is the noble art that allows Druii trained in it to help heal and purify planlife that has been stricken with unnatural taint, bring life back to dead land or even aid animals that are afflicted with taint however Blight healing cannot heal any wounds that the animal might have sustained.

    The descendant races cannot benefit from blight healing as it only works on plantlife and animals, however fae creatures Dryads and the husks of Tree lords can be cleansed.

     

    The major “flaw” with Blight healing is that it is a very taxing gift to use, even those who are well versed in it will feel the effects of exhaustion just because of amount of energies required to use it, though of course the Drui see this as a worthwhile sacrifice for it helps them continue with their druidic duties to the Aspects.

     

     

    Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student:

             

     

    “Hrm. This spot will do, come let’s sit here.” Tailesin murmured while sitting down, gesturing for the young ‘Ker to join her.

    “Now just like with trying to commune with plants or animals for the first time, this will be draining. To be honest I won’t be surprised if you make yourself pass out but I would highly suggest that you don’t do that to yourself, understood?”

     

    The young ‘Ker woman nods, mumbling something under her breath.

     

    “Mm. Good. Now just take a moment to meditate and focus yourself, allow yourself to listen to the songs of nature around you. Then once you feel focused I want you to try and...hrm. Pour your energies into this plant.” She’d turn and take out a plant within a pot that looks on the sickly side. “You’ll have to connect to your gifts like you have done before then allow your power to flow into the plant. This will drain you ever so fast, though. Even when you’re experienced like me the effects from doing it are strong. Anyways. I’ll stop talking and allow you to focus.”

    “Okay.” The ‘Ker nods then furrows her brows as she starts to stare at the plant as she begins to focus, her eyes taking a faint green glow while her breathing begins to get deeper as her chest rises and falls at a stay pace.

     

    Tailesin nods slowly. “Good. Now once you feel yourself ready, you’ll know the feeling. The power would feel like you almost about to burst. That is when you allow your powers to go into the plant

     

    The ‘Ker doesn’t really respond, only nodding once as she continues to focus. Her breathing pace starting to quicken as after a few more minutes of strong focus a faint mist slowly starts to form around the ‘Ker’s hands. She’d then close her eyes and lets out a shaky breath as she pushes the druidic energies towards the plant, the effects of fatigue already starting to set in place though she continued to push.

     

    “That’s it. Though be careful. You won't be able to do that for long. You’ve shown that you can do it. Pushing yourself too much will mean you burn yourself out and most likely pass out.” The elder Drui warned with a gentle tone.

     

    The young druid lets out a small sigh coupled with a nod, pushing herself to her utter limits as she continues to allow ther powers to flow into the plant; though it didn’t last. With a heavy sigh the ‘Ker suddenly breaks the connection the mist fading away as does the glow of her eyes, her head hangs as she pants while wiping her brow. She’d then mumble to herself and just starts to rest there on the ground, breathing heavily while she closes her eyes.

     

    Tailesin pauses for a few moments as she looks to the plant, which did appear to be just a little bit better. With a faint sigh she smiles and shakes her head, removing her cloak and puts it under the woman’s head. “Ah. Its okay, dear. Happens to all of us. Though like I said it’s always best to avoid that from happening, however.” She murmurs. “Just take a bit to rest on up, we’ll head back to the grove once you’re ready. Be sure to have a drink soon as well, it should help. Well done.”
