”Considering the attacks against a member of my house by those praised in that missive I would hope that you do not think I support their efforts either. Both sides of this war have their spineless. I shouldn’t need to pull all of the notices of capture and all of the penned essays on grief from loved ones of children and innocent civilians your side has slaughtered, do I? I did not think so.” A small smile twitches onto Lily’s lips, she sips her tea, reclining in her chair. ”I love being a third party to this war.”

“There will always be those spineless in war. I believe we can agree on that, and I believe we can both agree that all the grief and innocent lives taken has been a terrible thing this past decade. While I am accountable for the past actions under Godric, I am also not Godric, and have been making strides to make changes to the way things are done within my reach of influence. I do not wish to see more innocent lives taken away. And as such I have been telling my own men to spare civillians and asking my allies to do the same. Time will tell if I need to do more."

”Attacking unarmed civilians, very brave Suffonia, very brave.” Lily Mournstone would say sarcastically upon hearing the news. ”Dumb culture-less vagabonds. In my young days we didn’t brag about killing citizens, we bragged about killing warriors, you know, people who actually fight back. But what else do I expect from  stray dogs.”

There is fault on both sides. Bragging from both, but it seems only one side lied about who exactly it was they killed. All six were unarmed civillians that Haensemen attacked, and those were they Oren had dubbed bandits. None were warriors meant to fight field battles, None were guards, all dead were the faithful of home. Still though, refer to the other missive for my thoughts.

  3. “Ah, another mistake of the war” Chadmyr frowns as he paces his halls. He’d eventually find himsef plopped down into his seat to write a missive.

The war has had many mistakes on both sides, Many of those recruits or even veterans seek all they can for glory and battle, It is unfortunate that those Helenen citizens lie dead and slain as three of my own unarmed citizens were back a fortnight ago. My condolences fall to those families who have lost this day. May they all rest with whatever god they so chose to worship. I condemn this attack and future ones like it against the citizenry. We fight a war not against the Orenian people, but the leadership that has proven itself to be so tyranical should nothing be there to stop it.

    We remember Seahelm. Never forget.

Writ for the Burgh of Darrowmere

    Writ 1753

With the long disappearance of Pierre of Lotharingia, and his subjects, his land had fallen stagnant to time. As he bore no son there was no passing on of the title of Burgrave. For failure to uphold the obligations of the Gravlaw with their disappearance: The title of Burgrave and the land of Darrowmere shall pass unto the shoulders of a new owner.

For leal service to the Ducal Throne over these many years. I, Chadmyr of Morsgrad, Ruric by way of Edvardsson do see fit to ennoble Morana Vilchyc. To that end To Morana we do grant the fertile lands in the reach of Darrowmere, located to the west of Aedelland. The reach of Darrowmere shall henceforth be redefined as those lands east of the Ayr river, west of Aedelland, north of the mountains, limited to the east by boundary stones. Henceforth Morana Vilchyc is to bear the title of Burgrave, which shall in its entirety pass to her eldest surviving son upon her passing, this continuing in perpetuity. The Ducal throne does therefore privilege Morana with the landed surname ‘av Darrowmere’ from where clan shall henceforth originate. May this new beginning be prosperous and well for the people of the Highlands.

We do charge the Darrowmeres with the following obligations as a landed clan of realm. The Darrowmeres are charged with:

    I. The upkeep and improvement of a fortified Burgh to the end of securing Darrowmere as Fatherist settlement

II. The construction of an appropriate Hearth Temple within their Burgh

    a. Furnishing an appropriate allowance to their assigned Hearth Keeper

III. The development and defence of Darrowmere

IV. Enforcing the Nordlaw on behalf of the Ducal Throne

    a. Upholding the privileges granted therein

    V. Obeying the Marchlaw

VI. Providing Fyrd and Retinue to the service of the Ducal Throne when the banners are called

    VII. Attending Warmoot and Gravmoot

VIII. Ensuring the safe unhindered passage of Fatherists within the confines of their territory

IX. Taking spouse only from other landed bondsman of the Ducal Realm.

We do grant the av Darrowmeres the following privileges as a landed clan of our realm. The av Darrowmeres are privileged to:

    I. Keep an armed retinue at all times.

II. Call Fyrd comprised of all Darrowmere bondsman and serfs

III. Levy tax upon their bondsman and serfs

IV. Exploit their lands for farming and mining

    V. To bear arms in the Ducal Court

VI. To grant citizenship to the Ducal realm so long as the citizen resides within Darrowmere

VII. To style themselves (in the case of their Patriarch) as the Burgrave of Darrowmere.

VIII. To carry out feud upon other clans of the realm

IX. To the privilege enclosed within the MarchlawX. To marry others of the landed class so long as they are also leal to the Ducal Throne.

    The Induction of Alisa Camian

    20th of Snows Maiden, 1753

It was a cold winter’s night when a Keeper and a pair of Initiates, one a Keeper to be, went up the elevator to the temple garden. There was naught but silence and the wispiness of the wind above their heads as they headed towards the temple and ascended up its steps. There in a room of fire did they cross and go up the Altar before the blazing Hearth Flame. That of a brilliant bonfire it was, A beacon to be seen by all of Morsgrad and to it’s lands. At the peak of the Altar did they all stop, The initiates waited on the word of Keeper Chadmyr, but there was no word at first. Only did the man pass to pull a hefty log from a pile of wood and sticks. Promptly and without warning was it thrown into the fire to make it ever brighter.

    There they all stood.

    There they waited.

    Then suddenly Keeper Chadmyr spoke.

“Allfather I beseech you to bring this servant into your Grace. You, Alisa, Have done well to spread the Allfather’s message, his tenets. You may Light your Flamebrand.”

He tilted his Flamebrand towards a gap between stone that lead right to inferno.

With eagerness, and held back excitement, did Alisa step forwards to plunge the head of her creation into the flame.

And out came a brightly burning Flamebrand.

    “May she serve you well.”

  7. Chadmyr had been doing his daily rounds of keeping life to the fires around Morsgrad. Upon stepping into the temple garden he felt a cold at his back, no, a warmth? He could not tell, but when he turned around there was nothing there. Naught but the silent crackles of his Firestaff and the feeling that something, or someone, had been lost to him were in the air. A swirling cloud of of smoke and spark drifted towards the direction of Pinemarch and towards the sky – The Sun. He could almost swear he saw a figure, A family, rising up with it.

If he ever found out about the death of Edyth, All he couldve wished for was the chance to have said Goodbye to his dear cousin.

  8.

    To Initiate Alisa,

These questions you pose in the beginning are quite good. We indeed should be thorough and we should indeed seek their redemption.

However, Redemption is not something that we will force on those of the blind - and those who have renounced the light will not be given quarter should they choose not to repent. Those will die in their darkness. Those blind to the light have little reason for any practice to be performed on them past the way of telling them of our father on high. There - that is the correct way to have someone redeem themselves without forcing them to, but if they already were shown the light. Well, there is only so much that can be done as you describe.

All practitioners of the magic arts have not only let, but ushered in, a vast quantity of taint into their very soul. There is little to do but try to rid them of their pact, but should that fail there is only the Mercy. Godlessness is a pure rejection of there being something more - of there being something to save them all from times of peril despite there being evidence, and truths, that show that there are indeed Gods, If not just the Allfather. For his very flames are evidence to his existence. And thus those godless are the most blind of all - So blind in fact that they must be dark within. I let that mage go as an experiment to see if a mage, or a godless man, has their own choice to rid themselves of such plague on their own terms. Within the coming time I fully wish to send a small envoy of men to see what has become of him. Whether my hypothesis on self-repentance concerning the godless is correct or not we shall see. And if they are incorrect, well, We must rid his pacts with the Olde Gods for him. Those who ramble false accusations only serve to derail the tenet of spreading the faith, and you are correct, they must be purged should they be averse to redeeming themselves. There is little else to add for the other two.

Beheading the corrupted ones? That sounds like something the peasantry would do as to leave the corpse to rot and fester - a wandering soul left behind; a blight to pervert nature and the land. Even a mere peasant is able to burn a body and release the soul whether it be corrupted or not. We leave it up to the Allfathers judgement for we are not always the best of judges. Even the most vile of flesh might have a chance at redemption in the Allfathers eye. Leaving the corpse to rot or trap it within an aurum coffin has only been held to those traitors of the faith at a high degree - such as Vladimyr Rosik, whose fate was to be that, but whose body was burned in the night by someone with enough Mercy for the man. We call the Allfathers mercy this, the pyres on which evil burns, because it is exactly that. A mercy. To free the corrupted soul and give it a chance at new life under the Allfather’s radiance.

I will say nothing on this last paragraph - for they are not necessarily wrong. Some even right to my mind. However it is my own belief that all those deserving of the Allfather’s mercy and past should be given it - for, again, it is a mercy to send them to the Allfather and we will not be seeing them prowl our land again should we send them to him. You say the pyre is too kind an end for the abomination and most sinful? I argue that you are wrong. If found to be that they are guilty of these crimes within the Allfather’s heart - perhaps it was not a mercy to send them to him. For they will experience a pain, no, a fate worse than a mere beheading.

In summary, Each thing is a case by case instance and is left to us to figure out. Many corrupted beings are worthy of the pyre and many are not. However, simple beheading does not seem rightly for the purification of an abomination or any agents of the long dark. Otherwise, you have done well to express your ideas surrounding the subject.

    -Keeper Chadmyr

A response to Initiate Jexton’s writ on Edvard

I will first address the things that you have said and touched. Aye, you are right that we see him as a reminder for loyalty to one's friends, family, and allies; But he is also a reminder to not be too wrathful without a just hand. For all men he saw were enemies, those he opposed, the outsider, and his own people I do not doubt. All paragons have their lessons, but it seems that a fragment of the full lesson of Edvard has flown over your head.

    Response to Necessary Evils

Edvard was truly a man of wrath who plundered the land for his own gains while doubly shying away the potential for allies and friends alike. Surely what he did was necessary in many cases, but in many others did he falter into the unnecessary and unjust. The lives of a great many norlander did not need to be spent in the grand cause. A great many battles did not need to be fought to please the Allfather - But Edvard was blinded by his own wrath. And thus only made of foul judgement and saw every evil as necessary.

As allies flocked to lands away from him, it became apparent that betraying one’s oaths is to be craven from your own choices, but all saw except Edvard and his reign was shortened by peaks of flames. You speak of necessary evils, but had thought the death of a mere daughter, a child, was the correct decision. There was no justice in that, there was no need, there was no reason, and that was purely wrath. As for the apostate’s son, they are too young to understand, they do not realize what evils their father had committed to have such violence enacted upon them, but, Death is not the only option for an apostate less they wish for it.

Fear. Fear is something that all men experience, but will always fight against should they have the means to. As Keeper Gareth suggested, The Fear will fuel Courage. If a threat appeared on our horizon, something unknown, would we not sally out to fight against it? We are not haense, We do not hide behind our walls, We are Morsgrad. And yet, even without names, those who fight what they see as evil will be seen as the good, And the good will always have friends to fight with them. If it becomes clear that we are truly “Evil” in the minds of those around us; It is not hard for a “Hero” to appear and commit an act of True Evil, A genocide, as past nations have done against us that will be seen as Righteous in the hearts of the fearful. I do see your point in the directed use of such evils, But the reasons behind evil should not be without good point. For then you are simply verging on the minds of those who have found themselves in the Abyss.

    Response to Wrath

I see you describe the very being of the Allfather, Who is a god of Wrath and Justice, Edvard was the wrath without Justice or any good thought towards his actions; And for this his people had paid the price with blood and soot. Surely did his wrath lead to the end of his enemies as history had shown, but that was only in the beginning for history shows right after that it led to the prevention of his allies and any who wished to assist him. The downfall of a king and thus his victories faded to ash. He was a madman who his own people could not trust and his Wrath was a burden on himself, His people, and the Allfather. Edvard was a man of Wrath without control as you do say, but he was also a man without Justice. If he had this, he could have served his people better, but then what is Justice? Is it to burn everything that is evil? No, Nothing is black and white as a fire isn’t just Orange. It is many things, many colors, and many hues. Justice is found within thought and reason. People are to be served punishment for crime and injustice and not just for affiliations with the evil. For we all have corruption inside us that we must look inwards to and route out. Wrath is a fickle thing that can be very hard to control and thus it must be balanced out with great reasoning. One does not have to be evil to be Wrathful, as I have done, Much injustice has incurred my wrath in the past - and with justice - Those injustices were met with fury and were felled. They were punished rightly for the deeds they had done. The most recent instance of this was with Rosalia, Where the Chief of Eiriksson was to let them off merely without their faith and with their life. I did not allow this, For the punishment was unfitting, With Justice for the killing of High Keeper Solvi and Wrath as punishment for Rosalia’s misdoing; She was slung on that pyre and burned.

    Response to Burden

I agree in the fact that what we must do is a burden on our souls, but we must trudge on as our ancestors did through the snows and blizzards of the day. A lot of things can be burdening, but we must not let the weight dip down and blind our sight. Our friends, family, and faith we can look to as an ease for these burdens and as a way of guidance rather than trudging through life by your lonesome as Edvard did. We all want our people to live, and our faith to succeed, we all want to be protected under the Allfathers light. But we do not need to be ruled by wrath and these burdens alone. We all make mistakes, as you did, but we must look inwards and correct them before the corruptions of the flesh begin to cause corruption of the soul.

You say that Edvard’s goal was to secure success and Security for the faith? No, That is incorrect, Edvard had only been looking out for his own ambitions, which is why he is known as the paragon of Evil as well as Sloth. His mistake was that he didn’t look towards the Allfather and only to his worldly deeds. During his trek up the mountain of Avar did he come to reflect that this sin was most grievous in his own soul. His walk was of repentance to find redemption from the Allfather, but all was already lost. His people lie dead behind him from his outward search of sin yet not inward, and this time, in a blizzard like that of Thoromir’s: There was no Allfather descending from the sky, There was no gift of light - of fire, and there was only darkness. Edvard had perished in that storm and had met the same fate as those sinners of the first days. To ash did he fall for his unjustified wrath. His attempts at redemption had been too late, but he did leave the remaining Norlanders with good warning, and good advice for what had befallen himself.

“I’ve lived my life looking outward, for sin beyond my own soul. In doing so I was blinded to my own arrogance, my own wroth, my own failings. It is far more important to recognize the blackness residing in the soul of each mortal, of each child of the Father. For it is in this, unforgiving and constant self reflection, vigilance that delves into the depths of ones soul. That we find true salvation, true and everlasting freedom from the insidious grasp of the blackness that lurks in all things.” - Edvards Rambling, The Red Scrolls.

We must recognize our own failures and correct them. We must be steadfast in our belief. And We must not let our Wrath be without Justice.

For Wrath without Justice is a betrayal of the Allfather.

    -Keeper Chadmyr

  12. Chadmyr had only stumbled on the ashen corpse once Solvi had nearly finished scraping it into the urn. “What’s happ- Oh. ****.” he said, his lips now tugging themselves into a deep frown having noticed the fallen Flamebrand near the remains; He knew exactly who it was. Chad’s mind fell to memories of the old man, Of the gilded knife that he gave him to slay the undead and unholy alike, of the evil they slew together in that dreadful forest. What a time that was to enact on the fathers will, but those times were long past, and now Tyr lies dead and with the Allftather. The last memory was of Tyr telling him the words “Do what makes you happy, damn everyone else.” Chad muttered under his breath as he stumbled over one of the Ashtree’s  roots – bringing him back to reality; what was now and not distant past. “Is this what made you happy, old man?” he’d ask to nothing but the vibrant crackles of his own Flamebrand and the dwindling flames of Tyr’s; Little but embers and the occasional spark were left of the once brilliant blaze. He rests the fallen Flamebrand on a sapless part of the trunk next to Solvi. To let her decide what to do with one of the few things her husband had left behind. Only once the High Keeper was done with her task did Chadmyr walk off to the temple’s garden, to wonder of the future, to ponder as to why this had happened.

Whether this was an omen from the father, Good or bad, He couldn’t be sure. For it could have been a message of the old giving way to the new or a warning that his regency will be wrought with death. It wasn’t clear to him, not yet.

  13.

A man rises from his slumber only to be met with this harsh news. His lips pull into a tight frown as his mind slowly kindles, processing the event. After a solemn sigh he recollects all the time spent with his cousin. The memories between him and Edyth were mixed far and few between with some being muddled together by the girls past identity, a flash of his sword stabbing through Vladimyr’s neck, it wasnt enough to cull his feelings of dread. It had been quite a while since Chadmyr had contemplated the bottle, and this time, his premonitions rung true and his wills failed him. . .

That morning he had left his bedchamber to go and perform the daily duties of a Keeper - Stumbling as he went.

Right now we are not recruiting for the ET, any Story Actor apps will have a rather hefty waiting time. That being said, you are always free to make an application if you don't mind a long wait!

What about all the people that were already being interviewed? I know multiple people who worked really hard on their proposed event lines.

Side note: Its very good that the team and yourself are still trying to inspire people to do more player events. They're something you rarely see these days and hopefully the ability of players to add creatures will inspire them to create stories of their own. I think the biggest hesitation people face in performing them is the fear of not being good enough and doubt.

For anyone interested in making player events: Remember guys, it doesnt need to be super complicated. If you like the idea Just do it, Have fun, and Dont worry about it. We’re all here to have fun.
