In-Character Information Character’s name: Aedan Gladus Kolf Character’s sex: Male Character’s race: Human (Highlander) Character’s age: 20 Biography: Aedan was born to an enlisted blacksmith and camp follower during the last Human-Orc war, the new family migrating to Vailor soon after its end. A heated dispute between his parents on the decision to settle down ended with his mother leaving him. His father decided to take the young Aedan with him, accompanying a group of traveling merchants for his father to peddle his trade. His childhood was mostly spent around the merchants, being used as a marketing point to sell their various wares. He didn't understand this until later, but his father was furious when he found out, and decided to keep Aedan at his side at the forge. The forges were always far too hot, and he felt sick around the smoke, but he was fascinated by the workings of his father. As he matured from childhood, the heat of the furnaces became more soothing and warm than harsh and blazing, and he quickly took to being his father's apprentice. He decided then that he would become the greatest blacksmith in the world, his father chuckling. From his father, he was taught about the great talent of the dwarven smiths and how their skill exceeded any human's by miles, though this did little to impede his ambition. Eventually, his father relented on trying to sway Aedan of this dream. Sometime during these events, the merchants joined up with a band of travelling lumberjacks, and with them was another young man by the name of Gareth. The two ended up spending a great deal of time together during the group's travels, becoming close friends, the closest thing to brothers the boys knew. One night, Aedan's father called him into the forge and talked to the young man for a great deal of time. He told him stories from his time in the military, stories he never seemed to bring up during their work in the forge. He told him about the many adventures he had within their ranks, and how he felt Aedan would not live a happy and fulfilling life being in his father's forge for the rest of his life. With this, his decision was to force Aedan out of the group, and to have him find his own life and his own adventures. Aedan protested, but his father insisted that this would be a great benefit to him, and that he would never improve his skill as a blacksmith if he were to stay with his father. Aedan understood, and vowed to his father that he would achieve his dream, that he would surpass even the dwarven smiths. He then went to Gareth, informing him of his father's decision and told him that he wished for Gareth to come along with him. Gareth initially refused, but it didn't take much convincing to have Gareth accompany young Aedan on his journey. Together, they packed their belongings, said their goodbyes, and struck out on their own. Personality Traits: Stubborn and honest to a fault, and has a very dry sense of humor. Ambitions: To become the greatest blacksmith in the world, even if it means attempting to surpass even the Dwarven smiths. Strengths/Talents: Aedan is stubbornly loyal to his friends, and unwavering in his dedication to pursuing his goals. Physically strong, and has a high pain tolerance, and can react to situations faster than most. Fairly proficient in melee weapons and does well under pressure. Almost hellbent on keeping his home and working station completely clean and organized. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Ignorant of the world beyond the forge. Tends to be overtly prideful about his work and his goal, believing that nobody else should surpass his abilities. A slow runner and too much of an aggressive fighter, prone to suffering numerous wounds from his battles. He's also highly inexperienced with ranged weapons, never being near anything besides swords, maces, and other melee weapons during his life. Being near his father all his life made him a bit of a shut-in socially, and as such doesn't deal much with others unless it involves his trade. His temper is awfully short with most people, and he tends to blow up or be incredibly passive-agressive. Appearance: For one who spent most of his life in a forge, his skin is a bit pale. His hair is messy, neck-length, and light brown. He has auburn-colored eyes, and seems to have permanently furrowed brows. He has a strong jaw, and a short beard to accompany it. 5'11", 150lbs Appearance, please provide us a screenshot of your character’s skin:
