The rule I agree with most is that a player can't return to their place of death for thirty minutes as it makes the consequences of death more severe than in many over servers. For example, you can't just return and regain your lost items.
I think I understand all of the rules.

Definitions
What is roleplaying?: Acting out the persona of someone else, usually fictional, and taking part in a story with other people who are also acting out a character. eg: A 23 year old woman taking on the character of an ageing dwarven warrior.
What is metagaming?: Taking advantage of real-life rules or information that your character wouldn't be aware of, eg:
-Responding to a friend's call for help they sent you in real life like on Skype.
-Looking up locations and directions for the game world on the internet.
What is powergaming?: Roleplaying in a situation in a way that is unrealistic to ensure personal victory, eg: <Man swings sword at player>

This sort of play takes away from the experience for other players. You can't always win and you wouldn't in real life.

Biography:
For the past forty years, Oskar Birch has well and truly lived the quiet life. Born to Denis Birch, a lowly Blacksmith, and an unidentified maid, Oskar's mother's identity was kept secret even to himself at the insistence of his grandfather Mikel, a very wealthy widower who disapproved of his son's taste in partners. Oskar's twin brother, Rames, was taken by their mother in the separation, and the brothers never made any contact again. When Mikel died and left nothing to his only child or grandchild, Denis was thrown into poverty. Finding money wherever he could, but never breaking the law- for that was to destroy his own honour- he focused his energy on raising Oskar, aged just eight at the time. Every evening they would take Denis' salvaged old fishing boat out onto nearby waters and fish, for fun as much as food. It was the only time they enjoyed together and, when a sudden illness took Denis' life eleven years later, Oskar became a fisherman. Fishing was the only thing he felt any passion for, and besides, he felt most at home when he was at sea. Wake up before the sun did, eat breakfast, fish until dusk, sell his fish at the marketplace, go home and sleep. Thanks to catching much of his own food and purchasing few luxuries, Oskar saved plenty of minas up and kept plenty hidden in a box beneath his bed- emergency currency, though he never anticipated having to spend it. He lived this simple life for twenty years, never striving for more.
In the present day, Oskar's quiet life was destroyed in one fell swoop when he received word that Emperor John had placed a very large bounty on his head for the murder of a rich lord in Oren; this is, of course, a crime Oskar didn't commit and knew nothing of. Now finding himself on the run, Oskar can rely only on his exceptional wit and fishing skills to survive, evade capture and maybe- just maybe- clear his name. At the very least, he hopes to one day discover why he was accused of such a monstrous crime. For now, though, his priorities are always on finding the next bed and the next meal.

Personality Traits: Untrusting, even before becoming a wanted man, as a result of what he views as a betrayal by his grandfather Mikel who left him no money when he died. However, when he does become attached to someone, he is a loyal and dedicated ally. As far as he can tell he is asexual.
Ambitions: Oskar was an unambitious man, content with a fisherman's life. Now his only aims are survival, retaining his freedom and discovering the truth.
Strengths/Talents: Exceptionally intelligent (self-taught, as is to be expected of a man who spends so much of his time at sea reading while waiting patiently for fish), very good upper body strength. A good cook and of course a talented fisherman.
Weaknesses/Inabilities: Very slow runner due due to an old injury to his left leg, acquired when he mistimed the jump from his boat while intoxicated and slipped- the leg was run over by his boat's centerboard. Awful at reading human emotions due to spending the majority of his adult life isolated in either his boat or his bed.
Appearance: Oskar stands 5 feet 10 inches tall (about 1.77 metres) and weighs just 150lbs (68kg). Brown hair,dark eyes, a long tavern-brawl scar on the right side of his face. Strong muscles in the back and shoulders, acquired over twenty years manning the oars. Always wears Denis' old brown overcoat and long trousers, even on the warmest of days, to hide ugly rashes from time spent in stormy sea-water.
