As a boy, he witnessed many natural disasters of his homeland, and to this day remembers boarding the ship with his parents, holding his brothers hand, crying knowing he would never see their home again. After reaching Elysium and Kalos, he and his parents settled in Malinor, though he would over hear his parents and their friends talking of the destructive and violent nature of Kalos, and it was more of a relief than a miss when the High Elves left the accursed Minor Realms for Anthos. However, it was during this time that he would meet one of his best friends and future wife Freya Kal'alas. Living in Malinor, he and his parents were involved in their people's clashes with the other Elven races, and left to build Lin'everal. For years he had lived happily, becoming an alchemist like his father had, he eventually became confident enough to propose to Freya, which she accepted. However, just a month before they were to be wed, Lin'everal fell to the Black Scourge as well as an earthquake. While escaping the city, he lost sight of his parents who had been slowed down, but continued to escape with his wife. Upon returning with others, he found his father holding his mother in his arms, and mourned their loss. After Lin'everal was declared uninhabitable, the Koldun returned with his kin to the Princedom of Malinor, only to leave soon after to the tomb due to the coup which formed the Malinor Conclave. Koldun had developed an interest of combat magic during this time, so he could save others from suffering his parents. His brother and Freya were the only two family he had left. As he and his people left Anthos, he listened to his older brother reminisce on the times when all the races lived on Axios, never moving less than a century later, and hearing this in his heart he hoped that one day the High Elves would find their one true home. Upon reaching the Fringe, he and his brother took up arms against the Black Scourge who had followed the races to their new home. A year after Setherian was defeated, he and Freya finally were married, but the following years proved difficult as a drought had come, and tensions between the races of the former Malinor Conclave and the silver state had grown following the occupation of the former conclave. Koldun, like his kin, left for Thales, and just a few years after left again for Athera. During the escape, Koldun's brother was slain by Gazadriel, and his body fell into the ocean. Koldun mourned for his brother, but saw Atheras as a new beginning for him, his wife, and his kin. But alas, it was not a happy beginning. Though his wife was with child, and it seemed happy, with the Sohaer Elervathar induced with injury, Haelun'or became divided, and the city of Anni'sul was lost to the state of Laureh'lin. Koldun and Freya retreated to the Kingdom of Oren, where he took the opportunity to see Orenian culture. After Laureh'lin had returned Anni'sul to the High Elves, Koldun fought among his kin against Laureh'lin in retaliation to the former occupation. His wife had already given birth to a son, and he was happy. Years later during after the war with Oren and the vassilation of Haelun'or, he had mantained a mainly positive view towards Oren, but this view of their once ally had soured to him when the silver city was put under martial law. It would be many years before he would once again view the nation in any positive light. He would not become involved in any wars for a long time, instead devoting his time to studying and with his family. After once again traveling to a new land, Vailor, on the year 1526, his wife had developed an illness and she died a month after, never recovering. He was left with his child, who at the time was at an age of 53, an adult but still young. For almost five years, he would remain a shut-in, and only ever speaking to his son. Though it was far off, he started to obsessively fear death, as if there was an afterlife he feared he would meet his wife. He blamed himself for her death, thinking he could have done more to help, and he feared she would hate him. One day, after a quiet nap, he opened his eyes and got up, and realized he must not give in to his grief. On the year 1531, he set out with his son and traveled the continents. As his goal had been made clear, he opened up to his community again. It was the year 1531, and Koldun set out with his son to explore the continent. They spent 6 years traveling the Oren Empire, as well as traveling to the Sanctuary and Laureh'lin. All along the way, Koldun had been reading and educating himself and his son with geography, politics, culture, and history. They returned home on the year 1538, and began again to travel southern Vailor on the year 1539. The Oren empire at the time was at war with Urguan, and things were tense. Unfortunately, after traveling for months, they had eventually encountered the ravages of the war. Koldun and his son were exploring the dwarven island of Avar, and they were caught in the crossfire between the dwarves and Orenians. They tried to escape, but unfortunately they were mistaken for Orenians, and an Urguanian archer shot and killed Koldun's son. The dwarf realized his mistake and tried to comfort Koldun, but in his rage Koldun grabbed his knife and stabbed the dwarf. After the battle, he returned with an Orenian Ship to Main land after explaining his situation to the Orenian soldiers, and buried his son on mainland soon after. He returned home in his grief, but unlike when his wife died he did not isolate himself. Though his son was his only blood left, and he blamed himself, he realized he could not give up. He returned to his work, and continued to do what he had done in the past, being himself. For many years after, even through when his people would leave for Axios, he would live a peaceful life. He had come to regret himself killing the dwarf, he came to realize it was not the dwarf's fault, it was a battle, mistakes could be costly. He made a small grave for the dwarf out in the woods, unmarked, but he would sometimes come to this grave and think about what the dwarf's life was like, and who he had hurt, and every time leaving the grave would vow never to take life unless it was in case of a loved one or himself. He has lived a peaceful life for many years, and to this day enjoys his job to the fullest. He is currently looking into the arts of magic and is studying to one day begin his lessons. Personality Traits: Koldun is a carefree soul, always doing as he wishes, but would do almost anything for the sake of his kin. Like the other High Elves, he looks down upon High Elf Hybrids , as well as other races, but instead of treating them harshly, he believes in respecting them to a point, but to always put the priority of Pure High Elves above all others. Koldun has an interest in magic and the mystical arts. While he generally looks down on Dark Magic, considering it unholy, but admits to its uses. He enjoys spending his time alone, but also enjoys time among his kin. While generally happy and calm, at rare times he has been shown to lash out due to his trauma from losing his former wife. He enjoys reading books, and he holds a love for travel. In addition, if he is not at home, chances are that you can find him in a local bakery or sweet shop. Unlike his kin, he does not doubt the existence of God's, but neither does he worship them. Overall, he can be quite absent minded. Ambitions: Koldun's ambition has always been to master Magic. Ever since he had been a child, he had always been fascinated by it, and wishes to one day learn all there is to know. Ever since the loss of his parents and wife, he has been obsessed in achieving immortality. He does not wish to see his wife in fear that she will hate him for not saving her, so he wishes to live longer and see more so that he may one day have the courage to die. In other words, he seeks to conquer all his fears before he takes death by the hand. And as the patriot he is, he wishes to see Haelun'or prosper for eternity. Weaknesses/Inabilities: He is a rather passive fellow, and views violence to be messy, which has dulled his combat skills. It doesn't help that his stature makes him vulnerable. He is also a coward in terms of facing a possible death, but his fear has moderated. In addition, his love for sweets has been said to tempt him in the past to reveal secrets, and has been predicted by many to be his eventual downfall. Appearance: Koldun Stands at about 6 Feet and 7 Inches. He has very fair skin, which is accompanied by his long white hair, and his pale blue eyes. Koldun is more broad chested than the rest of his kin, but compared to other races he would still be considered rather thin. He usually dresses in simple clothing, which displays his very plain personality. He also wears a pendant which was an anniversary gift from his wife, Freya, and wears small pouches around his belt. No one knows why he carries these pouches, perhaps they are filled with coins or possibly ingredients for alchemy so he can make potions anywhere, or maybe they are all just filled with pastries and sweets.
