This game is WIP. Lemme know what you think below!
So before we even begin, let's start with the real-life connection, disclaimer, or whatever you want to call it.
This isn't a copy of Baseball.
Its actually rather the opposite: Rounders is a game as old as history can remember, which evolved into the game of Baseball we know and love today.
The idea behind this is to bring a sport onto the server that the Children and even Adults of kingdoms can casually roleplay in their downtime. One day, I hope there can even be a League between kingdoms set up, but first, let's start small with the implementation of the game into LOTC. Know that the rules are different then any other official ruleset for Rounders.
With that little statement out of the way, let's get into Rounders!
What is Rounders?
Rounders is a simple yet fun sport played by the Youth of Axios since as long as anyone can remember. It was originally invented sometime before the Axios era and brought over the Isles of Axios when the Descendants moved there. A typical Rounders
In Rounders, there are 9-13 players fielded at a given time: 8 on Defense, 1 Batter, and up to three runners on bases.
The Object of the game is to hit a ball using a wooden or metal bat, then attempt to move through all three bases and back around to home plate without being tagged out. The "Bases" in question vary with the kingdom: Some Kingdoms use sacks filled with sand, some use metal or wooden plates, and a majority use wooden posts(However the latter one increases risk of injury for players sliding into a base).
A Typical Rounders game lasts for 9 Innings, however this may be lengthened or shortened. In the first half of each inning, the Away team will be at-bat, and the Home Team will defend. A Half-Inning will be completed once the Offensive Team has accumulated Three Outs. Should the game be tied at the conclusion of the ninth inning play will continue for extra innings, with the first team to score a run and breaking the tie to be declared the winner.
The Team Defensive Positions
1st/2nd/3rd Basemen Stand on each base respectively. It will be their job to receive the ball in order to get a runner out, as well as defend the Infield.
Shortstop Stands between Second and Third Bases, and helps defend the Infield.
Left/Center/Right Fielders Stand in the Left, Center, and Right areas of the Outfield.
The Catcher Defends Home Base, the base at which the Batter starts at.
The Bowler Stands between the four bases. While at the very beginning the Bowler was typically just a single player and not part of any team's defense, who simply threw balls to the batter. Over time it evolved, with teams adopting their own Bowlers. The Bowler's modern role is to attempt to strike out the Batter by any means necessary. As it can be tiring to Bowl an entire game professional teams will typically use multiple bowlers in one game. The collection of a teams Bowlers is typically referred to as the Bowler's Pen, which, in some larger, more permanent Rounder's Fields, also refers to a place where the Bowlers may practice.
Designated Hitters are a very new and not widely accepted concept in Rounders. In some instances where the sport is played for entertainment purposes, a Designated Hitter will bat in place of the Bowler. However, very few people play with a DH in this era, and these are very rarely accepted, and are not allowed in most forms of the game.
There may, at no point, ever be more than one player in each defensive position. The Defensive player in question may move their position on the field at the discretion of the Bowler, who typically coordinates the Defense.
At-Bat
When Coming up to bat, the goal is to hit the ball, and hit it to a point where you can safely run to a base. Once the ball is successfully hit, a batter becomes a Rounder. The Rounder's goal is to safely touch a base without being tagged by a player holding the ball. A Rounder is out if:
- He is tagged or touched, intentionally or unintentionally, by a player holding the ball, while not touching a base.
- The ball reaches and touches First Base before the runner arrives at the base after hitting the ball.
Note: Conventional Flyouts, Foulouts, Popouts, and Lineouts do not exist. In order for one of these to be achieved the ball must be thrown to first before the Runner reaches first.
A Rounder may Attempt to "Steal" a base at any time. However if he is tagged doing so he will be out.
Batters vs Bowlers
An At-Bat tends to be a battle between the Batter and Bowler to hit the ball. Should the Bowler throw a ball that is considered to be outside the range of the hitter to hit the ball, it is called as a "Good Ball", or simply a Ball. Each batter is entitled to three good balls, should he or she fail to hit all three he is out. A ball thrown to outside the batter's hitting range is considered a "Bad Ball". Should the batter swing at and hit a Bad ball, it is considered a good ball. Should a batter hit any ball to the left or right of First or Third base, the ball is called a "Dead Ball" and not scored as good or bad. Should the batter swing at and miss a bad ball it is counted as missing a Good ball. Should the Bowler throw three bad balls in one at-bat, The Batter may receive a free walk to first base and become a Rounder. Should the Batter be hit by a ball thrown by the Bowler they may also automatically walk to first.

By the sound of "Techlock" Its some kind of Fantasy Flintlock.
What if we have guns more magic-powered or powered by some form of fantasy-type material? Like Dust in RWBY? Or like the role Mist played in Final Fantasy XII or IX?0 -

Where do you grab inspiration from?: Music is honestly a BIG one. You can't just use any old music, it has to be something that gets your emotions rolling. If you're in a sad scene where you can't get someone you love? Stone Sour, Song#3. Leaving on a big journey? NOCTIS from the Final Fantasy XV OST. And for CRP I will have something from the RWBY Soundtrack playing, like I May Fall or Red Like Roses Part II. In adddition when I finish a book, game, show etc. with a great story that typically makes me very inspired to do some of my best work.
What are your current list of characters, and are you willing to sacrifice any?: The only Character I currently have is Nathan Solidor, which means I can get up to two new characters, build them up, then kill them off if needed for an Event Arc.
What race, or group, do your events best cater to?: None, honestly. I make it my absolute goal to include as many people as possible. Most of my events could happen anywhere.
What do you believe are the key factors for a successful event?: First off. No "Go in, shoot everything(Or Cut/Smash everything in this case), leave" events. Its definitely Okay to have some Combat Scenarios, wether it be CRP, PvP, or PvE, but if there's no RP value you're not running every base and making it home, you're getting thrown out at first. An event needs to have some form of Roleplay Potential. That is an absolute MUST. If it doesn't have this it's known as a "Generic Event", which are bad. The other thing you need to do is not hold everyone's hand and be their tour guide. If there's one thing I hate its forced Roleplay. You need to get people Roleplaying, not force them to RP in a certain way. Another thing you can't do is use NPCs to advance the Story. Ever. You cannot do this.Basically, if you get people going on good Roleplay, whether it be casual, combat, or best of all, in an awesome continuing story, you're doing a great job.
What strengths would you bring to the team?: I'm one of the best Event Improvisers out there. In addition to running the best events on Outcast SWRP I actually never planned a single one of them. My process involves coming up with a base idea then starting the event, and kind of just watching what people do during the event, then reacting accordingly. This model allows people to RP how they want and even entirely effect the event itself. Of course you still have to Moderate the event a little so people don't go crazy and ruin the event entirely, but you can prevent people from doing this kind of stuff usually through in-event actions. Like if people try to flee the scene of the event, blow up the bridge and fill the water with sharks. That's of course not likely what I'd do, it's just an example.
Why do you want to be part of the team?: Well honestly a couple people have told me I should try to apply. Until now I've said "I will never become staff anywhere, again." But, I do miss doing events, the one thing I loved doing and got a lot of love back for. So I decided I'd apply for the LOTC Equivalent of Gamemaster and continue doing what I love: Holding great events for people to Roleplay in. I'd really love to see some of my ideas put to use, and I think I can bring some great enjoyment and RP to LOTC Players.
Create three distinct event scenarios based on the servers lore that you would organize: (Keep in mind that these pitches are to the managers and the lead, no the community.)- The Autumn Festival. This is a Casual Roleplay Event held in a city of my choice. It would consist of Apple Bobbing(Roll 1-4, and the number you roll indicates the Apple you get as a Lore Item), a Dunk Tank(Use a Bow to hit a Button to activate a trapdoor), Entertainment, Market Stalls, Probably some form of Play Performance, and OBVIOUSLY Alcoholic Beverages. The Festival would be a great chance for lots of Casual RP and would bring people onto the server for it, hopefully. This would require at least two other ET Actors and possibly a builder to run.
- Occupation. Another RP server does this event type but, they do it completely wrong, because the Lorestaff there tend to run the event's advancements using NPCs, instead of letting players themselves advance the event storyline. The idea behind this event type is that one of our Nations is occupied by someone, whom removes the leader from power, and players can choose to side with the occupier or form resistance groups and try to restore the rightful ruler. This event, instead of being a one hour thing, would be more like a continuous 1-2 month Arc, with many smaller events filling it.
- Siege. This is yet another long event, and a fun one. This event would last several days. Essentially a force, maybe undead, attacks a city and traps them inside their city, while they try to claw their way in. Now the City or Fort within must either escape or defeat the invaders before they all starve to death.
How long do you plan to be able to work on the team?: Likely Indefinitely. This is the only thing I really play on anymore, I really don't like other servers.
Tell me a joke: My chances of being accepted.1 -
It seems like every goddamn player in ever community is turning around and rioting over False abuse accusations, I lost my only remaining community that I ran to this...

Regardless of whether or not you have items on you, its pointless engaging in roleplay motivated by ooc things. It's pointless trying to make a satisfying experience when someone is intent on winning. Getting robbed or banditted or what have you doesn't have to be totally devoid of entertainment for the victim.
Believe it or not, some people actually welcome genuine conflict in their character's stories. Most don't value interactions centered around ooc things, though.

So I’ll keep this short, not because this place hasn’t earned my gratitude but because writing this isn’t all too fun. I’m leaving the server and I’m not coming back. Over the most recent Easter I noticed my 5 year old cousin playing Mineman and I realized that something’s twisted if I’m playing the same game. I love LotC but I cannot stand the platform it is run on and since I do not see that changing in the foreseeable future I will be taking my leave. So I’m hoping that I was able to clean up my bad reputation that I earned during my first year or so on the server with my very successful tenure on the AT. With all that I’d like to say thanks for the memories and I hope to keep in touch with some of you.
If you’re interested here’s a bunch of ideas I had for the server but never really did anything with and a few goodbye letters.
Ideas:
Hou-Zi:
An ancient jade tea-pot that would be worth an astounding amount, shared by the community of hou-zi, that would only be used when discussing with enemies how to settle a disagreement.
A relic, that is made of jade, which depicts catlike dragon winding between itself. A reminder of Metzli that most people would ignore or dismiss. The relic would become the basis of a popular symbol among hou-zi that is somewhat taboo but it would signify remembering your roots and where you came from.
7
A tapestry among the Hou-Zi of Hou-Shen. It would be held to be incredibly sacred and only owned and protected by the Fei-Zhu.
Orc:
What I would think the spirit of the void would look like. I think there is potential for a good event line where this spirit reveals itself to the orcs and the orcs have to reconsider how they feel about voidal mages and how exactly they should worship this spirit.
A potential mount for a clan, it's not exactly a Lur Wolf and it sure depicts strength, power and wildness.
A tiny totemic necklace that would remind an orc of a particular spirit every time it smacks against their chest.
What a respectable honorary orc could look like (despite how garbage they usually are).
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAL3JXZSzSm8AlZyD3nQdBA
I always thought somebody should give survivalist classes or something of the sort, kind of like the videos on this channel, so that orcs could become fully independent and self sufficient if they got lost or left behind.
Halfling:
This bird is called a House Martin. My original halfling, Andwise Peregrin, used this as a messenger bird and he gave a similar bird to his children. The goal was that eventually these fuzzy lil aviary friends would be popular among the halflings to deliver messages of tiny text from the wee-folk.
An art piece that would make for a good setup in a halfling village. Put the storage burrow (seen on the left) next to the Sheriff's Dpt. (right) so that people would be much less apt to rob from the villages storage for fear of being caught (and becoming the talk of the village).
Never got to make this pumpkin launcher since I PK'd my aengulic tinker halfling, but maybe somebody will one day.
Something I've tried to build a millions times... But @Larry Shortoak could give you an idea of how my builds usually turn out. It'd be a pretty neat build to pull off.
Other:
The idea basically builds itself and I think it could be a wonderful accent for the spookiest areas.
Not really an original idea but an event item that is essentially a sentient book that changes it's text to mean a different thing to each character it interacts with.
Imagine a spooky ring that can shoot out long and spooky bendy arms... idk if it's very practical but it's a fantasy server so piss off.
Spooky puppers, edgies get lonely also right? (I think these are a saluki and a pug)
One of the best arts of a suit of armor that I've seen and I thoght for a long time that this would be the most badass dreadknight
A potential runic gauntlet.. Maybe on an event villain or some one-of-a-time event rewards.
I thought at one point that tribal/hunter dwarves would be dope af. Note that this art also reminds me of the 'Beast Hunter' LoL skins line.
One of my more developed ideas revolves around these shark-bears. In my mind these creatures tend to pick off stray axolotyn. The beasts and the fishy men of the sea would often compete for food and territory and the axolotyn would be considered very heroic if they often went and hunted these terrifying creatures.
Aengu-daemonic art, not completely sure what aengul like creature it is but it seems to look like all the other aenguls we've pictures for.
What I imagine the creature this statue (from Athera) was made to resemble.. Or perhaps the legacy of this creature from Athera lives on as a type of familiar
Now... This image doesn't quite convey much of an idea unless you are a raving conspiracy theorist but to be brief Bohemian Grove is a large campground where every summer a group of highly influential people (former and future presidents, prominent CEOs, etc..) all men and typically all right winged. They have chants and do mock sacrifices.. whatever. Not the point. The point is that this inspired me to propose a large camp ground area for a future map, with stages and roads and a few lodges or places for characters to set up tents. This area would be claimable for other nations and could serve as a secretive place for people to meet up at. People would know where the area was but it would be hard to find a single person in the land mass of the camp ground unless you had a predetermined meeting place.
A dwarf proudly wearing their carbarum armor. It's a neat lil design, maybe somebody will have some use for it.
I always thought that this rare breed of canine could be a type of pet or hunting dog for wood elves. It's long legs give them a very distinguished look, stride and tracks.
Now onto the goodbye letters, I'll try to avoid the mushy stuff.
Larry (Dale):
Dale, you're the best lad I ever met on the server. Words can't describe my appreciation for you so I'll try to convey it in your prime form of communication.
Leslie:
You may just be a dumb Darden slave but we'll still talk you clown so don't worry. We'll become the best NA ARAM players, I swear.
Scout:
You're a clown, play a good game and maybe I'll drop in your Discord every now and then. <3 you
Coolio:
You're a good kid and Jesus loves you. Remember not to sell your soul for magic like some other despicable people. Play Rupert more often you clown because he was always my favorite kid.
Butter:
I can't wait to hear more hours of you talking to your self. Zzzz. Even though you let a good village die I forgive you because you were always my favorite kid.
Hunter:
Hi Hunter, I love you but not int that gay way... Even though Mira is the most improper child I could have imagined it's okay because she was always my favorite. Also I need you to make better SC stories, k thx bye.
Elk:
It was weird as **** to meet you on here Matt but I'm glad that you're doing alright. GL w/ finals hombre.
Mason:
Sky:
Another wonderful Aussie. If you need somebody to beat Zindran in Hearthstone or if there's some way I can help you ring me anytime. Don't let staff keep you down.
Also Mei > TracerKBR:
If I can help with the Hou-Zi in anyway ring me up and if not do so anyways so I can see how good you are at Kled. <3
Heff:
Heff, I know you're not too active but I love you anyways. Thank you for introducing me to the greatest playerbase on the server
and letting me absolutely ruin it. If you ever need something hmu.Lego:
Mr. Xbox, I hope that I have been able to be of as much help as possible to the AT in the last 7 months and I hope that I have showed just how much a member of the AT team can do if they really put their mind to their work and have a bit of purpose for what they do. I wish you the best of luck with the AT and all of your future endeavors.
Trav:
Trav, years from now I will probably remember this as a shitty Lord of the Rings version of WoW on a garbage platform. I will forget many of the details of what I've seen and done
like Reynabut I know I will never forget the crazy German boy who played the swamp obsessed orc named Shreck. You are one of the most fun people I've met on the server, so thanks homie.Pie:
You're a good Rex and a good AT. Just remember to do more apps than Vaynth and be Alpha at all times and you'll keep doing great. <3
Bahbou:
Aight bud, you already know I'm not gonna beat around the bush so here it goes. You really don't know all too much about the halflings but I really want you to do well. You need to talk to people like Prologued about stuff because he simply has experience. Now you might not like his answers all the time or like how he says them but you gotta realize that you simply didn't work your way up into halfling leadership.. You bought it. You just took it over without knowing what all you were doing and now Mells is in a really weird spot. There's not much I'm going to be able to do to help you if I'm not logging on anymore so listen to older halflings and try to work alongside smaller playerbases. Above all things, don't be like how I was. Focus on making playing a halfling fun and then focus on keeping the tradition. Tradition can always come back after you slip up for a good time.. But players who have a bad time on a halfling likely never will. Remember, the halflings are based on Tolkiens hobbits and this is what Tolkien said about the hobbit mayor: So I wish you the best of luck hombre, squash out the impropers.
Wolf:
Bud, I've known you for a long time and I know that now you're trying to make a decent name for yourself so you gotta stop tossing on a pink panther skin, arguing with the shamanism experts and referencing back to the time of burke, and lastly talking **** about people when they aren't there to stand up for themselves. If you focus on helping new orcs getting settled in and developing events for the group you'll be in the clear homie. Take care hombre.
Future Halflings:
First off you've come to the right place. Next off the way to have fun as a halflings is to do the following: Make RP instead of waiting for it to come to you, make friends with the other halflings, follow the existing culture because without it you're just tiny humans and that's retarded, finally if you see an issue tell people about it and if nothing happens then step up and be the change you want to see.. Like, don't just let issues sit their unsolved. So aside from that enjoy yourself and give the bigguns hell.
Gorkil Clan:
First off I want to apologize. I know I didn't really last too long as a Wargoth and my departure is all too sudden but I'd like to think I didn't completely embarrass the group. I'm sure the clan will carry on without me and I hope that the hunting event line can carry on to give the clan a strong core focus.
Hei-Zhu:
Nothing much ever really happened because numbers were never all too fantastic to accomplish much but I sure did have an absolute blast writing culture lore for the group. Take care all of you, don't act like children and keep trying to get the hou-zi to the level of a smaller race like the kha or halflings.
Future AT:
If you aren't having a good time on the team then leave. You should have a good number of friends on the team, enjoy doing your work and have some wholesome motivation to keep trying to help new players. Do your best to keep your head down and do what you're asked to and if you have a good idea then take some initiative and try your best to see your idea to fruition. Keep it all going lads, the work you do is more appreciated than you recognize.
If what you said is true, then I wouldn't be a Gmod Server Owner, there's JUST AS MANY LITTLE KIDS on that Platform as Minecraft.
Dude, for crying out loud. I am 20 years old, when I first played this game I was like 14. This game has been around in some capacity for nine years. This is OUR GAME. Not some small children's game, they just invaded and stole it if anything.
There's just as many little kids in Garry's Mod. It honestly depends on where you're at in both games.
(Like the little kids love DarkRP, the older peeps love StarWarsRP(Sometimes) and HL2RP)0 -

Yea, as most of us are outcasts to the rest of Gmod, the people that get kicked out of their other communities by staff corruption or Bias of some form.
and surprisingly there's A LOT of us.
