One assumes a role and plays it to the best of their ability, such as playing a humble Smith within a village. What is Metagaming?: Meta-Gaming is using knowledge that one had learned Out-Of-Character to benefit their character through roleplay, such as knowledge of a bounty from the forums. What is Power-Emoting?: Power-Emoting is the behavior acknowledged as pressing an action onto a character without them reacting, such as "Suzi runs all over the room, jumping off the ceiling as she slit Robb's throat with ease." - - - In-Character Information Character’s Name: Gunther Redheart Character’s Sex: Male Character’s Race: Human Character’s Age: 31 - - - Biography: Gunther Redheart is a name forgotten by most of his neighbors, and a name disgraced to his parents. From a young age, Gunther grew as a stern and healthy boy within Haense alongside two siblings and a widowed father within a small cottage near the end of a dirt path. The family itself was dependent on his father, who had worked as a smith like the father him. Though, this did not change Gunther's pursuits as he matured through life. Although he did aid his father occasionally with smithing, his goal was a paying job at a Tavern that laid a few path's away from his home. The job itself had it's perks, with a steady pay and good natured fun from time to time, though what set deeply on Gunther was one of the barmaids, Claudia. She was a sight to behold, with luscious blonde hair and beaming blue eyes. Gunther had begun courting her a year before his twenty-first name-day, and the two had gotten along well for some time. Unfortunately, she was being courted by another man, by the name of Marcus. When Gunther had discovered this man, he challenged him to a duel for the love of the woman. The two engaged in unarmed combat, which continued for some time in the street. The brawling ended when one of Gunther's fists crashed into Claudia's face in the in the struggle, thus ending the fight. Gunther stood ashamed before making his way out of town, deserting into the forests nearby. Gunther remained in the forests for some time, scrounging his food from the trees or the left over carcasses of animals. Though, this behavior did not last for long when he met a certain group of individuals designated as the Men With No Kings. The group itself was formed by the deserters and exiled men of the region, who had come formed with their own ideals. Gunther first encountered these individuals when he was looking for eggs in a tree, making quite a struggle in the meantime. An arrow had been shot towards the tree he clung open, and he was brought down to meet the men face to face. Nonetheless, he was adopted into the fold after a great deal of debate and pleading. Gunther would aid the group with his smithery knowledge for his keep for some time, eventually knowing their ideals and members quite well. In the span of those years, he was taught swordsmanship by a certain man who was referred to as Scion. Scion was a prime member of the group, he was charged with teaching the newer lads their ways with weapons due to his time within the Orenian military. In turn, Gunther became rather knowledgeable about the ways of sword combat and could perform a fight with skill. Unfortunately, these years did not last when conflict came to the group at their own camp during the winter. The men became divided after the death of Scion, between the leadership of a Norlandic tracker known as Lorthal and a Sutican fisherman named Bueno. Bueno claimed that the group should raid the surrounding villages for subsistence. Lorthal claimed it against their code and should hunt more, like they have for many winters. Sadly, Gunther was awoken by the sound of clashing blades, sending him upward in his tent as he viewed the carnage. The two sides fought to no end, plunging the group into anarchy as many fled the scene. Gunther routed into the forests, sending him to find a new home. (Now, I wanted to mention that the Men With No Kings would have no roleplay impact or any impact within the world itself. It was only a basis for Gunther to learn and reside in, and the group itself was relatively small.) - - - Personality Traits: Gunther is a rather honorable man, as he had been chastised for some time for his behavior in his early adult years. He finds anyone that would die with a weapon in their hand or by helping their allies, should be respected by all. Although, he has never been too keen on social interaction after his first incident. He mostly stays with himself, or with the people he feels comfortable around. Ambitions: Now that Gunther has found a new purpose in his life, he had placed his sights on becoming something larger than himself. Strengths/Talents: Gunther is a man of good morals, with both modesty and judgement aligned on the (Lawful Good) side of the spectrum. He also holds the honor of being a man of persistence and zest, both of which he holds in great esteem. For talents, Gunther is a man of swordsmanship and smithing. Both of which he can perform to some degree. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Although he holds notable skills, Gunther isn't the most literate and has trouble even reading the most basic of sentences. Gunther is socially awkward, and cannot be the most charismatic man in the fold. He unfortunately also holds everyone to the same standard that he was, that being that if a man cannot contribute, he isn't to be respected at all. Appearance: Gunther stands at 5"11 with a head of brown hair and an unkempt beard. He is moderately handsome, albeit some scars laying about him.
