22^nd of The Amber Cold, 1694

Making her way down the muddy path, the cold wind lashing against her, Valencia Mournstone passed the rebuilt Krag only to turn her gaze to the newly built structure on the hill. Her people had labored many months but there it stood, and with it, another oath was fulfilled. The new church stood as a testament to the diligence of Nordengrad, and her heart could only swell with pride at what was accomplished in such a short period of time, the grief of her losses seeming easier to bear. The Lady Mournstone nodded and summoned her messengers.

“Inform the citizens of the Empire that Nordengrad is ready to welcome the Canonist faithful.”

The young men nod, making their way to the newly established stables, and then riding off on the fastest steeds available, bearing messages and maps with them.

“To the citizens of the Empire and followers of the Canonist faith,

The Earldom of Nordengrad hereby announces the opening of a new chapel, as both a sign of continued loyalty and obedience to the Imperial decree. It were Canonist blades that helped pacify the rebellious Earldom and return stability to the Northern reaches of the Empire of Man, and it is only right that the blood that was lost is honored with a house of GOD.

All followers of the Canonist faith are welcome within the walls of Nordengrad, a place where they may worship freely without fear of harm or persecution. Let the coming of the faithful cultivate even greater prosperity.

4^th of The First Seed, 1693

Walking through the eerily silent Red Faith Hall, Valencia Mournstone's hand brushes against the well worn ash wood pews. Memories of the services, prayers, and candlelight that once flickered through the hall swell within her heart, a twinge of grief strikes her. Hand falling to her side once more, she turns away from the familiar ash tree mural and to those who had gathered behind her.

“Send word out, those of the Red Faith are welcome to return to their place of worship.” Her voice is soft, with a resolute tone to it, an order from the Lady Mournstone.

Mournstone-blue eyes turned to the mural of the burning Ash Tree on the wall, closing for a few seconds after a moment in remembrance. Long legs stride forward toward the lectern, her hands lifting to pull a single blue flower from its place tucked into the bun on her head. She placed it on the lectern, lifting her eyes to the mural. A single phrase came from her lips, uttered in a ghost of a breath, “For Thoromir.”

The men behind her move off, taking their fastest steeds to nations far and wide. In the wake of their passing, scroll and posters were hung, bearing the following message and map to Nordengrad from Cloud Temple:

To those loyal to the Red Faith,

The walls of Nordengrad once gave haven to the aspirations and dreams of the All-Father’s children. The walls stand, as does the temple that gave home to the High Keepers and the Keepers of the Red Faith. It has been several years since they last heard the words of worship. They strain to hear, to take in the preachings and callings of the faithful and the loyal, and the hearth fires struggle without those dedicated to tending them.

Nordengrad was once the home and heart of the Red Faith, and it calls now to those absent too long. The heart of the faith still beats, and calls to those loyal to it to return home. There is sanctum here to worship freely. Join those still within our walls, and let the hearth fires burn brightly.

You’re extremely arrogant and do not work well in a team environment at all. You’re immensely and obnoxiously stubborn in any belief you’re passionate about; whether for better or worse. You have a tendency to demoralise others on the team and go against both protocol and what others ask of you; whether intentionally or not.

 

But you’re passionate - and genuinely have some really interesting and bright ideas most of the time. If this were a full Game Moderator application, I’m not sure where I’d stand. But I’m indifferent about contributor. I think you would do well, but I really want to see your behaviour fixed up. You can be a great person when you want to be, and I’d love to see that more. I think Jaeden says it best in my opinion. We may have our differences and I may not always agree with you or what you do, but you are passionate and you have good ideas. You’d do well for war rules and fixing up raid rules.

Declaration of Vassalization and Relocation

Let this declaration be known by those who inhabit the realm that I, Valencia Mournstone, Lady-Matriarch of the House of Mournstone, and the House of Mournstone itself hereby officially sever all ties to the people of Earldom of Nordengrad, as well as those who choose to ally with them. As such, the House of Mournstone also makes the decision to relocate itself away from the aforementioned Earldom of Nordengrad, and relocates it’s bloodline to the Dual-Kingdoms of Hanseti and Ruska (further referred to as The Kingdom of Haense).

Let it also be known that in doing so, the House of Mournstone has pledged it’s loyalty and service to the House of Ruthern, becoming a vassal of the aforementioned noble house, as well as bending the knee to the King of Haense, Robert Barbanov, thus swearing the bloodline of Mournstone, to both the House of Barbanov and the Kingdom of Haense.

Describe your knowledge on the descendant races

The descendant races are the ones descended from the original beings: Malin, Horen, Urguan and Krug. They are the original races, the humans, elves, dwarves and orcs. They branch and split into sub-groups, such as elves splitting into snow elves, high elves, wood elves and dark elves, and dwarves splitting into mountain dwarves, cave dwaves, forest dwarves and dark dwarves. Each sub-race generally belongs to it’s own nation and group – such as wood elves belonging to the Dominion of Malin, highlanders belonging to the Norland and Kaedreni subcultures. All of the races have characteristics that are special to them – such as dark skin for dark elves, green and red skin for orcs and long beards for dwarves. The descendant races all have curses and blessings, a curse from Iblees and a blessing from a mysterious robed figure. The curses and blessings are unique to each race – like greed for dwarves, but also strength and determination; for elves it is the curse of infertility, but also long lives full of peace.

I am versed in magic, particularly certain ones, but I have an overall knowledge of magic. I’m well-versed in areas of history, though I don’t know all of the history of LotC, and I’m quite capable of ensuring that applications are correct, as well as helping new players find their way around the forums, the game and the wiki. 

Detail what drives you to become a member of the application team

I was an Application team member for a long time, but I lost the drive to do it. At the time, I was highly stressed about multiple things going on in life, from my irl job to relationships that were breaking down. I was no longer happy and I felt smothered by the responsibilities that I had. I took a break to get my breath back, and after watching WS chat, and being a part of a nation where there are a lot of new players and remembering how much I enjoyed helping them, how much I enjoyed being a part of the team and working with everyone, I decided to reapply. I love helping people again, and I don’t feel bogged down anymore. I feel like I can contribute actively once more to making the AT a stronger team. 

Provide an alternate way to assisting new players apart from reviewing applications

Being a part of the New Player Discord, being active in Wandering Soul chat. Generally just being there when they need you. Having an open Discord where they can contact you in case of questions. There’s many avenues to helping new players, and we should be utilizing all of them. We need posts on the forums to help show them how to do things. I expressed a want to make a full guide to applications before I left and I still want to do that. I want to help make it easy for new players to find their way to nations instead of stumbling around trying to find the nation they want to get to and instead being beheaded by bandits on the road simply because they’re lost and don’t know how to roleplay things properly. 

Survey the application process and provide any possible improvements which could be made

Oh boy you don’t want me to go into this. I think the application as it is is too short and doesn’t have enough requirements. I understand player retention is a thing, but we need to get players understanding how roleplay works before they get on the server and have to be taught. I have some adjustments I’d like to see added, but I’ll be discussing those with Dromui whether I’m accepted onto the team or not.

I was a member of the AT before, and I feel like I did a good job at that point. I'd like to try again and see if AT can be taken further than it already is.

Unable to attend the moot, Valencia raises her voice to suggest that Jorvik Rorik should be named next Earl. 

Then she retreats to the Barony of Bairseach with her children, unable to watch the funeral of her husband. She will pay her respects in other ways. In her room in the Barony, she begins to pen a long note, perhaps a book, perhaps a letter. All she knows currently is that someone needs to remember the way Thoromir was, and the best one to do it would be the one closest to him. After all, someone would need to tell her daughter of her father and his story.

[OOC: I have work at that time so I won’t be able to attend either one. Feelsbadman.]

A warrior reads the letter and frowns, her hands clenching upon the paper. Good men being driven from a good city was not something she tolerated. Injustice in a just land was intolerable and disdainful. Moving to her desk, she sat to pen a letter, her son playing in the room behind her, and her daughter sleeping peacefully in the crib to her right.

[!]A parchment is nailed to various trees around Nordengrad, Cloud Temple and the Whispering Crossroads, it’s yellowed exterior dotted with an exquisite, well-written letter. The edges are slightly curled from the wind and rain, the Harvest weather treating it roughly.
