Mikkel was born within the district of Irrinor, within the Dominion of Malin, where his mother and father taught him to make clothes and work with leather. He often shirked his responsibilities and preferred to explore the city around him, finding new wonders under each pebble. Even in his classes he daydreamed about adventure, about seeing the Dwarven kingdom of Kaz-Ulrah, the Princedom of Fenn, and even making a pilgrimage to the Cloud Temple. Mikkel was always a dreamer. He longed for more excitement than the humdrum day of a leather working boy. He wants to see the rest of the realm of Atlas.
