Posted on the door to the Kelonn residence would be a letter, written with graceful calligraphy. The residence seems to be abandoned, with the furniture Milamber put in there striped away.
The letter reads:
”To whomever it may concern,
I, Milamber Kelonn, am leaving Haelun’or. This is out of no hate for the city, but out of necessity. I am leaving to follow the arcane arts, just like my ancestors before me. I will be travelling to a place where mages gather and that is where I will be learning magic. I may come back to Haelun’or, or I may not. If I was to come back, it wouldn’t be for over a hundred years. Magic takes time and so I will give it time. If I don’t return then I will be living out the solitary life, probably in the woods somewhere, where I will study nature and everything about the earth.
While some mali may view Haelun’or as a haven, I believe that Haelun’or has fallen from it’s high perch on the mountain, to the levels of the Valah and lessers alike. I believe Haelun’or is corrupted and that we no longer represent the Mali’aheral way. It took me two years of pondering to get to this stage, and it all started off with the exile of Erebus. When I heard that a child had accused one of the most valued members of our state, of an act that is unthinkable to all Mali’aheral, I started to believe that Haelun’or had lost it’s way.
So, I pondered the matter. I lived life in Haelun’or, doing my jobs, just as a normal citizen would, when I was robbed. I, a law-abiding citizen, was robbed. So that’s when I knew it was time to leave.
Now you know why I am leaving, I hope you do not view this as an act of rage and violence, but of sensible knowledge that I reached after years of pondering.
Van’alya llir
Sincerely Milamber Kelonn”
