    [Your View] Freebuild

I’ll try and run my thought process, with you peoples 🙂 This post poses a dividing question between a push towards normal roleplay/ how mmo games turn out (The world being run on strict non-environmental interaction, and purely npc/player interaction), and the pull from the origins of Minecraft (Includes interaction with environment beyond npcs and players). Lotc seems to be trying to add the origin part of Minecraft back into lotc, the ability to change the environment. Now if you compare this to your good Christian Minecraft server run with your middle school buddies, i’d ask why you don't roleplay on there? Given the concept of freebuild it is very much replicable to that of your other friends server. However, to me, I feel like something is missing. Beyond the added number of players. In my view I can see that lotc is much more than the playerbase, it is the work that has gone into what creates the fantasy world. The lore behind the character and the added amounts of immersion that you wont get in said other server. The format of text and visual combined to create the current world, Atlas. If I step back to the beginning of this and ask the reason why I cant design my own house on ESO (where I came from tbh) it is because the the immersion has already been made and my place in this world is to be immersed rather than to create an immersion for others. The same stands in medieval times, does someone without any experience or devotion design the keep? Or for my example of ESO, have experience in CAD (3d modeling). The answer would most definitely be no for the most part. If the intention of lotc is to create an environment to roleplay in, which it has already, then it should stay like that. Limiting itself to creating the immersion for the roleplayer. Not in any other order. In another standpoint as some one who designs different things, I always take away my own “mystery”, from the finished product. That I already know the flaws and hidden points of interest. That it feels almost plain in my eyes, but could feel Wonderful and New to someone else.
  2. Username ImColdHelp Discord TooCold#4818 Timezone Central Group/Nation: Dunshire Have you ever held a staff position before? Relating the this server, I applied to World Developer. Have you ever been banned before? I was banned in the year 2013-14 sometime for taking some ones glowstone on a family-friendly server. I deeply regret this~ What style do you prefer to build in? My preferances include all of the above. Although I could use work on larger scale creatures, don't have a lot of practice Are you comfortable using World Edit commands? Comfortable with why w.e doesn't build for me and instantly produces my ideas, no. With the tools actual uses, yes. Provide screenshots of three builds you have created from the following list: Terrain, Creature, Medieval, or High Fantasy Refer to World Developer Application https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/177809-imcoldhelps-world-developer-application/?tab=comments#comment-1673787 Explain what you feel results in a quality build The mixture of color, shape and depth. A good texture pack can make almost anything look good, but the technique used while making the build can help with the fluidity of the builds details, and if used incorrectly can result in over detailed works that look blocky. Why do you wish to become an Event Team Builder? To practice building, and have meaning In the countless hours I put into this. Beyond that I think Lotc is a great server that stands the test of time, making it a very desireable landing spot. What are your strengths and weaknesses? Future is a very important element to me. If I cannot see the impact or purpose of the work, I tend to simmer. As a counter, if the work does infact have a lot of value beyond the words it was said with. I will flourish, putting many hours in to the builds. How much time could you give this position in the foreseeable future? At a minimuim of 5 but probably no greater than 30 I tend to stick around as long as I have work to do.

I’ve been cranking out different things and I’ll be adding pictures for the mentioned Natural/Building subject. Unfortunately my work is majority lost in the space of dead servers and the combination of a new pc, I’ll add more pictures within the day and possibly tomorrow. All depending on what I can finish.
  5. Minecraft Name ImColdHelp Discord TooCold#4818 What can you bring to the World Dev Team that is Unique? I focus on the atmosphere a build can give. I give the small touches a good consideration when I build. Leaving you with a view that shows consideration in details. What do you think the most important decisions are when it comes to designing a world? When you first see something, that the façade of the overall build intrigues you venture further to explore what you can see and the depths you can't. When working on smaller projects such as a village, a cave or a ruin; what is your aim? In everything I build the functionality of space is in high consideration. How to move within and about without struggle and to fill the view with immersive details. Following a mix a realistic physics and logical pieces targeting, again, the immersion aspect a build can give. A large part of the World Developers job is finding new ideas for environments. Give a brief synopsis of an idea that you have had in that regard. I think it’d be cool to have a revolt in one of the cities and partake in sinking some ships and having the remains be under water and such. If you could, what would you change about Atlas and why? I don't know a ton about Atlas but I do have a certain view on changing others work: Varying styles and stylistic opinions render a lot of conflict if ignored. Noticing that I try to not change anything already finished but rather suggest or propose ideas from other builds, to create a possibly better aesthetic. How much time are you on average able to contribute towards being a WD? It really varies on how much work I take on and if those are quick (Probably grind) or larger projects. For sure I can keep more than 5 or so going each week. The World Developers Team is a diverse group with a wide array of opinions, meaning disagreements often happen. Discuss how you handle disagreements or criticism when it comes to your designs. I assume this is having to do with quality? Which uhh I don't see my builds as perfect and if left with it I'd probably continue to tinker. If some one else has a disagreement they can feel free to copy and adjust. Same goes me. Please include any examples of your design work below! I conjured up a few ships so. https://gyazo.com/b1ddcd46b3229db7d570631632ffee65 https://gyazo.com/ea326f33bdd83603357275e87eb7206d https://gyazo.com/86af00a983a31f1368965ec78bf574f9 https://gyazo.com/a487a144d2b7289abd7fb2da6a1a50e2 https://gyazo.com/091d86bf5c555276b2078fedf5230385 https://gyazo.com/a487a144d2b7289abd7fb2da6a1a50e2 ADDED PICTURES: Tree https://gyazo.com/bf947441e02ec9b3db4b8a8d9f220b16 https://gyazo.com/6049d8939b5069040936ea5cf501bd50 House https://gyazo.com/098cd06790e613d7fb4a34795666eeae https://gyazo.com/34e9d98f81c7511dca1f079e1a8877c7 Other Comments (Not Required) I'm trying to make this Nautical themed but I do also have skills in Organics and Structural.

Grew up simple in the depths of sunlit Dunshire. Looking down at the streets on an average day, watching the other children steal and cause havoc. Knowing to himself that he is above, both literally and socially. If the day drew near, nothing would change. To bed early and to rise early to start the studies again. Educated by his loved mother, the grasp she had on his life never lifted until her death. Fortunately and not that was 4 years ago at the age of 28. Now he stands under the rain without an umbrella. Seeing how miserable the world can get.
