  1. "Is it... that tragic, that in a place claiming renown for the voidal arts, children of their leadership cannot find a teacher?" Raziel chuckled "Such a tragedy... maybe I should invite them to visit Celia'nor, so they may find a proper tutor? Hmmm... Thriceblood?" The high elf grimaced, clearly disgusted by the implications of the name.

  2. Sitting at his not-so-humble winery, Raziel eats popcorn. "Damn, Cresence. They really attacked your marriage, there. That's tragic." As he opens a bottle of wine, he turns to his daughter. "Such is the folly of the Democracts: They elect one competent leader. But they do not let not him select the next, no! They let the crowd appoint another, as if a mage knows, how to rule. Or as if a fisherman knows. And so, you get fools in power. And they bicker amongst one another... endlessly..."

  3. The elf spoke through in his cellar, "Unity...? Does her kindred not stand behind the Dralguna? It appears, most of the devils already want her head. It was her scum, that brought them into this situation, no?" Raziel hummed, pondering for a moment.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Golemancy

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

The origins of Golemancy lie within the old craft of Runeforging. To put it simply, a Golemancer weaves mana and anima into lesser runes, called ‘Sigils’ which fulfill the functions of bringing life into mundane rock through their cores. All these things are done on Golemancy anvils, which is typically the first step of all Golemancers, as it is required to perform the art. It requires a greater soul to produce anima and mana. Those Golems were first known among the dwarves, originally all crafted from thanhium, which is no longer required.

Golems themselves are built for eternity. Their psyche is stoic and unmoved like the stone they are made off. They bear no typical emotions, yet they approach the life of the world in their own way. They typically are between 4 and 12 feet tall. They no longer have to follow their Impera blindly, yet instead seek a relationship like apprentice and master between them.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

There’s not really subsections so I’ll just explain the relevant parts of the magic here.

SIGILS: Probably the most important thing to know about Golemancy. Sigils are needed for all the different facets and are either put onto the core or around the Golem (auxiliary sigils). They are also at every smaller piece related to Golemancy since creating them is what Golemancy is essentially about. Six are needed around a core and depending on the type of Golem, they may house a few more.

THE ANVIL: The most important tool of a Golemancer, it is needed to perform all arts related to Golemancy. A singular sigil is needed: ‘Golem Heart’. It is made of solid stone and they get a pretty ST Signature.

PROSTHETICS: Eyes and limbs. The first are essentially gemstones inscribed with the sigil of sight. A singular blunt strike will destroy them. They are rather easy to install. Limbs however, are incredibly painful to install with a spike insert into the mody. The sigil of connection will be imbued on them. The limbs are quite solid and take 3 hits from a blunt weapon to destroy. Only two of them may be used at the same time. Only one may have auxiliary sigils.

GOLEM CORES: The first part needed to make a Golem. It is a 6-sided piece of metal such as aurum, imbued with a gemstone. Thanhium is only needed for Titanicus golem. A casing is applied for example the Brutus core golem. On this part of the golem, which takes >5 well written emotes, the CORE SIGILS are applied. A core alone may be activated to form a golem on its own, or a body is precisely crafted which usually results in more distinct variants. The core is imbued with anima and cold.

CORE SIGILS: Activation, Memory, Touch, Hearing, Sight. They bear the core functions of the golem. If their core were to be destroyed, so would be the Golems main function, hence it ceased to ‘live’ with their destruction. A backup could be made, depending on the extra core sigil.

AUXILIARY SIGILS:  Primarily non-combative assets for the Golems to help them on various tasks. Examples: Illumination, Compass, Disruption, Dowsing, Laborers, Tremorsense, Recollection.

TYPES OF GOLEMS: There is a large variety of Golems. The Mundus core is the most basic and common one, with the size of 5 to 8 ft. It is a CA. The Servus core is a NPC servant from 2 to 5 ft. The Brutus Core is a giant of 8 to 12 feet which is incredibly strong yet slow. A CA for players to rp. The titanicus core is a special, up to 25 m tall super golem which needs immense effort and thanhium to make. It is designed for ST event and can only be played by those. The antecessor core is essentially a soul storage that can be interacted with, or a library of information. The CA’s can only house a formerly played character; a hellish experience for all individuals who suffer such fate.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

Raziel held his hammer and chisel carefully, gesturing his student over. “Do you see this, here?” He paused then to give some space to answer. Yet as he was met only with a confused gaze he spoke. “The details matter a lot, when imbuing the sigils, kae llir.” - “A singular wrong carving and it can all collapse. Forget that not. Ensure its shape properly. Look,” Thus the still-glowing golden core was hammered upon by the elf, the sigil-to-be slowly taking a miniscule different shape, yet the change almost seemed neglectable.

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

Unlikely to happen since Golemancy can't really get powergamed, but here we go:

It depends on the severity and how often it happens.

Mistakes are common, they always happen - a simple correction and explanation usually is enough to fix the issue. Maybe a tip how to prevent it, a reference or link to the lore to explain how it's meant to be done is usually enough.

Though, if my student continues to do so more often, I'll need to have a longer talk with them and their motives. While all decisions should be based in RP, I will be honest, I have no interest in teaching someone who constantly powergames and shows bad faith. In the worst case I'd drop them and get a ST involved.

However, I don't think that ultima ratio will ever be necessary, most people just get their faults if explained nicely! So far I never had any issues with students besides minor mistakes.

Do you have a magic(s) you are dropping due to this app? If so, link it:

             no

Do you agree to keep the ST updated on the status of your magic app?:

             yes

Have you applied to teach this magic on this character before, and had it denied? If so, link the app.

             no

Specifically, if LotC were to be adapted into a show on Netflix for example, what would you need to see included in that adaptation for you to confidently say, "Yep, these guys actually respected the source material!" What, for you, if it was changed or not included, would ruin a LotC adaptation for you?

I expect a lot of joke replies to this but I'm honestly curious. I've been working on an LotC D&D Campaign Setting and I could use some other perspectives on what is really important to the fiber of the server, but also what things could be open for change.

"The community writing a story together." Is what makes LOTC LOTC. That was my first instinct reading the title. Nothing else really. The dozens of fun cool people. The story itself is, in a way, secondary. In my opinion, we could also do space rp or pirate rp and it'd still be fun.

Personally, I would pick 2 random places to write about. They are all too different. Add a few characters from different places.
