How do you wish to work for the wiki?

I would like to work on updating some of the outdated lore and the lore that has been changed with recent rewrites. I would also like to make Wiki pages for the playable Creatures that players can apply to play (Epiphytes, Phantoms, Strigae, Etc).

Have you worked on the Lord of the Craft Wiki, or any wiki before?

No, I have not. This is an obvious negative seeing as how someone will most likely have to train me, but I think I will be able to figure it out fairly easily.

Which lore are you most familiar with?

I have good understanding of the lore related to Flora, Wood Elves, Druidism, and Elnarnsae'ame(The Wild Faith). I've only been an active player on the server since late may, so my knowledge of the lore is not very vast. I feel that being a part of the Wiki Team will be a great way for me to expand my knowledge of the lore in areas of the server that I don't participate in.

Please provide an example of a wiki page you are not satisfied with and list aspects that could be improved

This page can found in the Flora Index, under to Forest category.  This is the link to the page- https://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?title=Blissfoil

The first problem I see upon opening the page is the lack of summary paragraph, there is instead and note left by someone that says “Add a short summary of the plant to this paragraph.”, there is the same problem under the History tab, where there appears to be a note of what needs to be added. These notes left of what needs to be done and the unfinished Trivia tab, immediately give the appearance that the page is incomplete and unprofessional. This could be easily avoided by not including the notes on the page, and/or providing a warning at the top of the page that says the page is still being worked on and some of the information may be missing. The second problem is, there is not a tab or area where it explains how the plant should be harvested or how the plant can be farmed, this should be added to help people with making sure they are harvesting the plant and growing it in a garden correctly. The 3rd problem I see is that much of the Information is outdated, this is made obvious by the term “LM-Approval” instead of ST-Approval. Upon checking the Revision history you can see that the current version of the page is from June 2018, with the recent changes made to the Flora on the server, there should be a warning included on ALL pages relating to flora, that indicate that some of the information might be outdated due to recent changes of the lore. There are also other minor problems, such as the Appearance and Usage tabs being rather short and not very informative, but this can also easily be linked to the page being outdated.

Please provide an example of a wiki page you see as a model example and list your reasoning

The wiki page for Wood Elves is nearly perfect, and works as a great example of a model wiki page.  The first reason, is that it’s constantly updated by people who have the best understanding of the lore. Nivndil updates the page on a regular basis, making sure to keep all the information as up-to-date as possible. The Attributes tab is rather simple and straight to the point, explaining the race and it’s physical characteristics rather well, also linking other wiki posts and forums posts that could be useful. There is a link to a forums post that goes more into more detail on how to make a Wood Elf look accurate, which allows for there to be more summarized information on the wiki page. The Culture tab is again rather simple and separated so it is easy to read and has a nice flow. Each sub-category under culture is short, going over the basics and linking a post that goes into more depth on the important things. The History Tab is short and sweet giving an extremely short overview of the history, before linking the longer version, which allows the page to stay simple. Overall the page gives a good amount of information on the Topic without going into too much detail or becoming boring, it also looks visually appealing with the well organized categories.

Please showcase your abilities with either A short writing on a subject of your choosing, or An example of an 'other' (Already completed wiki pages are a plus!)

Most of my writings that i do for fun or for school are augmentative essays, which wouldn’t show the ability you are most likely wanting to see, so instead I am writing a short summary that could be included on the Wiki page for the Glade of Siramenor(https://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?title=Siramenor). I can also send additional Material if needed.

The Glade of Siramenor, commonly shortened to Siramenor, is a village that is home to the majority of the wood elven population. The village is located to the left of City of Aegrothond, the capital of The Crown of Elvenesse. The settlement encompass some land along the coast and an island off the coast. The village is led by the Triumvirate, a group of 3 leaders, who work together to lead the village through it’s day to day operations. The main religion of Siramenor is Elnarnsae'ame, which translates to “The Wild Faith”, and it is very important to their day to day life and plays a role in their laws and traditions. The Glade of Siramenor also happens to be home to the Father Circle an organization of Druids who call the island off the coast their home.

  2. Great Guide! I do have a couple questions though. D you have any advice for doing males with longer hair or bangs and  do you have any good photos like what you included, but not of human outfits?(I play a wood elf, so his outfits would be nothing like the ones you included, so i would assume shading would be different?)
