Joseph has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As he look around, his gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
Joseph raises an eyebrow clearly confused at the sight of somebody knowing who he is. Not to mention annoyed. joseph tents to crave solitude and Anonymity.
“Ive been wandering this land for a while. Im simply facsimileing myself.”
“Ah, I see. Well perhaps this be of use” The lady rummages through a chest Pulling out a map.
“Ceartenally” Says Joseph. With not a hint of gratitude, just a dead statement. ” Take this.” He leaves a gold coin in her hand.
Joseph, his surname lost to time, is a tall, young man Camouflaging himself in the dark forest with a green cloak His dark blue eyes as saturated as the purest, most precious Lapis lazuli used by the kings for enchanting, His quiver of arrows tipped with spider venom, his restored crossbow once discarded, and the monotone expression on his face and he slips through the deep forest. That is, when he's alone. For when a knight, tax collector, or any other representative of the kings and queens enters the forest, his frown turns to scorn, for any soul carrying out the rule of the powerful are not passers-by in Josephs deep blue eyes, but vermin.
Joseph wasn't always this cynical. He was originally a peaceful child helping his parents and sister, He loved the peace and beauty of the plants and animals, he loved to watch the rabbits forage, the horses graze, the fish to swim, He loved the nature, the plains, the village. but nothing last forever, for shortly after his 13th birthday, The town was pillaged by the power hungry tyrant The homes were burned, and souls slaughtered. Joseph was forced to flee into the nearby forest. It took the boy 4 years to swallow all his tears living in fear of the raiders. Until a merchant took pity, agreeing to send him to a distant land on his ship. Away from the Ruthless kingdom that took everything. The damage from the horrors he experienced that night would change his life forever. For the people who he loved the most have been taken away from who was at the very top. Now Joseph wanders the forest filled with disdain for the castles in the distance. As he no longer believes in peace and order, but in anarchy rule, as he knows the kings only bring suffering.
