Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"My name is Sylvaria. I didn't know my parents for long. All I remember is them being thieves, moving from place to place, teaching me to do whatever it took to get ahead. But we were never ahead." she winces "They broke the law because it was all we could do to survive. It caught up with us. We were all captured one fateful night. My mom, who shared my eyes, and my father, who shared my curiosity, were executed." she looks down at the ground  "I was saved, after an intervention from a local official. He said I was too young to be executed and that he would show the right path in life. He took me to his home and showed me his immense collection of texts and literature." she starts to smile "I fell in love with learning and reading and dedicated the next decade to learning all I could. My new benefactor sponsored my education and took care of me. One day, I found myself not getting as lost in books as I used to. Over the following weeks, I realized that I needed to go out and see the world for myself." she beams triumphantly  "And so, I decided to leave the only place I had ever known and look for adventure! For some tales of my own. And maybe some friendship and love along the way!"
