Born among the proud Raevir Highlanders, his early life was dedicated to the learning of his father’s craft. As a part of the strelts, the Raevir serfdom, it was important for him to learn what he could in order to provide for his community; as the son of a blacksmith, the work was grueling and long. Nights spent at the forge to construct tools for farmers, carpenters, and even individuals of high status, or relatively high compared to their own. The most fascinating work came from those of low-ranking nobles who requested swords – how the sound of steel crafted into the beautiful works of Man were imprinted in his mind! It didn’t take long for Sigfried to learn how to construct and forge on his own; he was strong by the time he became a man and had even learned how to swing a weapon, when they needed testing after completion of course. Unfortunately, he never acquired a proper education. That didn’t matter to him, though. Even if he couldn’t read or understand the more eloquent words of the prim-and-proper, he was strong and skilled in his craft. For a Raevir...that was all that mattered. As his father wilts away retired, he wonders just how far his craft will take him; after all, a young man does dream of the outside world.
