Crathion

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Dhoriot cautiously sits down on the cushion. As he sits, he immediately goes into crossed legged position and situates his back to where it's straight as a marble column. With a harsh and somewhat angry tone Dhoriot says, "What do you mean you've been waiting for me hag? What's so special about me?" Dhoriot looks over to the hag and sighs. With a now calmer tone he says. "I did not wish to be rude. My parents always said that I rush to judgment too quickly. I guess... I will tell you my story. Like any other Mali'ame I was born in a forest to a loving mother, and a father I don't know much of." Dhoriot's tone quickly changes to one of melancholy. "He died when I was young. A tree fell upon him during a horrible storm. I always have held that against the gods of nature. What did my father do to get struck down?" His tone quickly progresses to anger. "What god is so petty that he strikes some random woodworker down." He quickly regains his composure. "As I grew, I developed more anger towards the gods of nature. The only thing that seemed to sooth it were my hobbies, like archery, and even that barley worked. Then my village was ravaged by a storm it could not stand against. I was knocked out during it, and when I awoke, I only found my mother lying on the next to me as I was alive. All because I can't give away this anger, and what's strange is that I still can't. So, I ran away from the people I knew. I carried only my bow and enough supplies to do me for a couple of weeks. I refuse to let them get hurt, because I can't get rid of my own anger." Dhoriot sheds a tear and sighs.
