Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
As Ren steps in he is shocked by the hag's invite, hesitantly he steps forward, planting into the cushion "Do I know you ma'am?" he sits in the silence gazing through the still smoke emitted from the candles before responding to her question.
"I am unsure if I am supposed to talk to you, but alas you seem certain I must. My story you beckon?" He sits more upright, presenting himself as more solid. "I am Ren Errvos LaVaer. And I am destined for great things..." He pauses, with his words trailing off, "Or atleast my mother believed so. She named me Ren to honor Horen. She always believed that his return was imminent and that we all would bathe in immortality as his children... Of course, when she got sick that only reassured her that his return was more swift than expected. But... she wasn't so lucky." Ren collects a breath, remaining calm. "I carry my family name now with hope that I shall make good on my namesake and bring about great things... In that way I am as blind to realism as her hope was."
Ren meets the hags silent gaze as if she is egging him on for more. The boy waits for prompting before he continues.
"I intend to become a great warrior... and I won't stop til heaven or hell takes me."
(I swear I am better at RP than this, just unsure if I could add any line of questioning by the hag, usually I work better with question and response RP, rather than open prompts like this)
