How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is an unfair roleplay tactic usually caused on accident by new roleplayers. Metagaming is when one finds out about OORP knowledge and allows their character to know said knowledge just because they found out about it OORP. An example of this would be if you were in an alliance with a random guild that told you via voice call, PMs, or any other way of contact out of roleplay that their character was gonna make an attempt to betray you and you had your character find out about this with no reasoning what so ever, just because you heard it out of roleplay. Another example of metagaming is someone's character is getting attacked by a bandit, their character being far away from your character, you then proceed rush over to save them, out of no where, that would be metagaming too. My last example of metagaming would be if someone were to be told by their friend OORP that they're learning hydromancy or another type of magic, they would then proceed to tell them how they did it, the metagamer would then randomly give their character the knowledge to learn the magic with ease.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Just like metagaming, powergaming is an unfair roleplay tactic, a form of powergaming would be forcing your emote on someone, an example of powergaming would be "The knight would charge into the man, making him fall on the ground and break his head open" Another form of powergaming would just be making your character unbeatable, like some sort of god. An example of this form of powergaming would be "The god like being would fly towards the woman, with a snap of his fingers she'd be gone into the never ending abyss" The last example would be simply being un-realistic to a point where it's too overpowered, example, "The human being would simply walk through the wall, going to the next house"
